Gnome one like you #2

I love these little gnomies illustrated by Crissy Armstrong, they're just the sweetest.

I started off this card by die cutting a panel of Bristol Smooth using the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set and then masked off the edges to give me a window in which to ink in a cloudy sky with Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio.   I used the Simple Sentiment Strips Clear Stamps to stamp a sentiment at the bottom of the window.

I used copic markers to colour the wee gnomie from the Gnome One Like You Stamp Set:
Skin: E13, 11, oo
Beard: BV20, E42, 41, 40
Clothes & Balloon: R46, 35, 24,  14

Magnolias on black

I've been wanting to try out this black background style for a while, and the Magnolia A2 Die is perfect for this style.  I cheated though and did it the quick way - I ran a sheet of white card through the die cutting machine with an embossing mat so I could pick out the different sections to colour.  I coloured in the raised parts of the flowers, buds and leavs with copic markers B04, 02, 00 then filled in the rest with a black copic marker.  I then die cut a panel of gold mirror card and adhered this over the coloured panel.  Bish, bash, bosh - job done!

I finished off with a sentiment from the Simple Sentiment Strips Clear Stamps.

You can see the gold card much better in the second photo, once I changed the angle of the camers

Sending Sunshine

I think we've all had a need for more of this sort of card this past year, and I thought this sweet bunny from the Sending Sunshine Stamp Set just fitted the bill.  I teamed it with the largest from from the Slimline Birthday Scallops Die Set and also the Slimline Buttercup Paper Pack.  I used the Bold ABC Die Set to finish off the card.  I coloured the letters with copic markers for an ombre look.

Slimline Thanks

I couldn't resist using that gorgeous new Slimline Paper Pack - Taffy that was released by Whimsy Stamps yesterday, it's absolutely stunning and makes quick cards a breeze.  I also used those fab new Scallop Circle Frames Die Set again, love these!

I really didn't want to cover too much of the paper up so went with the butterfly from the Butterflies Clear Stamp Set which I coloured with copic markers V17, 15, 12 and then finished off with the die cut from the Thanks Word and Shadow Die Set which I coloured with the same copic markers as used on the butterfly.

I'm definitely making more of these cards to keep on hand!

Celebrate - a new release from Whimsy Stamps

Today's card features a few things from the newest Whimsy Stamps release - Slimline Wavy Edger Die Set, Scallop Circle Frames Die Set and the Slimline Paper Pack - Taffy.  Isn't that paper just gorgeous?!

I am not a yellow fan but love it with the Taffy paper against the white card.  I added some die cut leaves from the No See All Seasons Tree Die Set and also the Celebrate Word and Shadow Die Set to finish off this bright and zingy card

It's your day Butterflies

I've kept this card pretty simple so the new Scallop Six A2 die could be the star of the show.  I love the bright white against the pink background.

I heat embossed the Butterflies Clear Stamps with gold sparkle embossing powder before fussy cutting them out, then finished off with sentiments (also sparkle heat embossed) from the Simple Sentiment Strips stamp set and die cut the sentiments with the Simple Sentiment Strips Die Set.

Let's go fly a kite ....

My second card featuring the sweet gnomies from the Gnome Lift You Up stamp set is a lot more pastel than the first card I posted the other day and  I've used the fabulous new Slimline Cornered Rectangles die set again, I just can't leave this set alone!

I inked up the background panel with oxides for a softer look this time, I used Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Cracked Pistachio with a cloud stencil.

I coloured the gnome with copic markers -

Skin: E04, E11, E00, E000
Red: R29, R35, R14
Yellow: Y17, Y15, Y13

The sentiment is from the stamp set.  It looks blurred but it's not IRL, my camera just did not like all the white I think.

Slimline Happy Birthday

I've been meaning to use the new Salvaged Patina inks for a while and not got round to doing so.  I needed a birthday card for my grandson who turned 16 and this card happened.

I inked up a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxides in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Black Soot and allowed it to dry before heat embossing the fab-u-las new Slimline Scribbles background stamp, then die cutting it with the Slimline Cornered Rectangles die set.  I also cut a black frame and white panel to pop the HB2U on from the same set.

I coloured a piece of copic friendly cardstock with copic markers to match the ombre look of the background then die cut out the HB2U using the Cutie ABC Die Set and Cutie Numbers Die Set.  I LOVE this font! I finished off with a sentiment from the Simple Sentiment Strips Clear Stamps. and a few die cut stars, because I had to have a tiny bit of bling.

I really struggle with masculine cards but will be using this idea again I think.

Gnomies and new slimline frame dies

Love these new Slimline Cornered Rectangle Dies from Whimsy Stamps and had to use them as soon as they arrived.  I've paired them with the delightful new Gnomes Lift You Up stamp set, because .... Gnomies!

I did the background panel by inking up distress inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade. Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers.  I usually go for a much softer look with distress oxides but love the pop of colour that the distress inks give.

I coloured the image with copic markers then masked off the image and inked in the background, this time using distress oxides in Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and a hint of Mowed Lawn.  I added details to the gnomies hats with a white gel pen.

Skin - E70, E11, E00
Beards - BS20, E41, E40 and BV20, W3, W1, W0
Hats - BG49, BG15, BG13; YR07, YR04, Y38 and Y17, Y15, Y13
Tree - E59, E57, E23, E21

I then die cut a frame from two of the smaller dies in the set to show off the gnomes

There are two images in this set and I'll be sharing a card later in the week with the other sweet gnomie flying his kite.

Prancing Plushies Christmas

I've truly fallen in love with Clearly Besotted stamps, and have starting building up a collection of them.  These reindeers from the Prancing Plushies stamp set are just the sweetest!

I stamped and coloured the reindeer with copic markers E19, 17, 15. E43, 41, 40 then inked a background with distress oxides using Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky and Tumbled glass.  I used a C1 marker to map out the snow banks and then edged the banks with stickles glitter.  I die cut the MERRY from gingham paper and popped them up on the card front with foam tape.

I had such fun making this card, these wee reindeers make my heart happy

Big Hogs and Kisses

I've used the new background stamp - Piggies - from Whimsy Stamps on today's card along with the new Bandana Paper Pack.  The black sets the peachy colour of the pigs off just right.

I coloured the Big Hugs die with the same peachy colours in an ombre effect and adhered that to a black die cut, slightly offset.  The sentiment is from the Hogs and Kisses stamp set.

New Slimline Die Release

Whimsy Stamps has another unique Slimline Die releasing today, Chicken Coop

I used mainly just this die set for my card, though I had to pretty it up with some flowers from the No See All Seasons Tree Die Set along with a sentiment from the new Butt Nuggets stamp set.

I coloured the die cut eggs and straw with distress reinkers and die cut the chicken wire, pitch fork and door furniture with mirror card.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card featuring goodies from this new release
