Unicorn wishes and magical rainbows!

Unicorns, Crittercorns .... I just can't leave these cuties alone!  I didn't get to use the sitting Unicorn on the other cards I made using this sweet  Unicorn Wishes stamp set, and when my latest order from Whimsy Stamps arrived I just had to use this sublime Quilted Rainbow Inlaid Die cover plate.  Ah I can see me using this one so much, it has a pretty scalloped border with the removable stitched rainbow pattern, so useful.  The other die set I used on this card is the Array of Rainbows

I inked up a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides then ran the rainbow panel through the die cutting machine, trimmed the edges then adhered this with foam on to the die cut scalloped panel.

I die cut the clouds and rainbow from white cardstock and coloured them with copic markers, along with the sweet Unicorn.

I then slathered the rainbow, cloud edges and Unicorn wings in Distress Glitter and finished off with some sparkly stars and a sentiment from the Everyday Banner Digi Sentiments

Copics used:

Rainbow, Unicorn Mane: Y15, 13, 11; R83, 81, RV10; G14, 12, 40; V06, 04, 00
Clouds border: BG10
Unicorn: BV29, 25, 23 (hooves) C3. 1, 0, 00; YR24, 21, Y11
Wings: YR30, RV10

Crittercorns take 2!

Following on from my last card, here's take 2 of the Crittercorns!  Man, I love these wee cuties so hard!

I stamped out the Zebracorn and some mushrooms from the stamp set, masked them then inked in the sky with Tumbled Glass distress ink and the grass with Cracked Pistachio.  I then used copic markers to add detail to the grass.

Copic colours used:
Zebracorn: BV29, 25, 23, W1, 0, 00, R30, 00; YR24, 21, Y11; Wings RV00, YR30
Mushrooms: R29, 27, 35, 43; E43, 41, 40
Grass: G46, 14; YG17

I stamped the Galaxy Galore Background Stamp onto light blue cardstock using a slightly darker ink to give a subtle pattern.  I die cut this with the Rounded Rectangles Die Set and matted on to a piece of white card. I die cut the image with the Pierced and Stitched Circle Dies and matted this to a larger white circle.

I finished off with a sentiment from the digital Everyday Banner Sentiments and a few sequins.

Crittercorns .... as cute as Unicorns! 💖

This is the first of a couple of cards I've made using the sweetest of sweet stamps ... Crittercorns!!  Aren't they just the cutest?

This was such an easy card to make.  I started off with the background which is a sheet of patterned paper from the Bizzy Bees 6x6 paper pack.  The background is all done for you, love that!

I die cut two clouds from the Array of Rainbows die set and stamped on the sentiment, I used the  Everyday Mini Sentiments stamps for this.

Next up I made a frame which I popped up on some foam tape for dimension, I used the Card Builder Windows die set to do this.  I love the pierced detail in the corners.

Lastly I coloured and fussy cut the Pandacorn and popped it in place.  I added some stardust stickles to the wings.  Copic colours: BV29, 25, 23; W1, 0, 00, R30, YR24, 21, Y11; Wings - BG000, YR30

Jar of hugs 'n hearts

Something a little different today, a friend wanted a "sending hugs" shaker card, and I think a jar of hugs 'n hearts was just the ticket.

I started off by choosing the delish paper from the Calico 6x6 paper pack, then stamped out and coloured up some hearts from the FaDoodle Hearts Clear Stamps to match the colours in the paper.

I then die cut (from black and glitter cardstock) the Mason Atlas Jar Die Set.

I used some matching pink cardstock for the matting, and also die cut (pierced actually) the daisy border across the horiszonal panel using the Festive Edger Die Set.

I finished off with a little tag (also from the Mason Jar set and some Nuvo glitter drops.

Slimline Bubbles

Part of Whimsy Stamps mini release is this amazing Slimline Connected Bubbles Die.  I absolutely LOVE it, I can see bubbly shakers, frames for cute little critters, as a background ... so many things!

I went with simple Distress Oxide inking in soft pastels starting with Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Peacock Feathers and ending with Twisted Citron.  Then I got totally carried away by adding water splatters and got mesel' all twitchy.  See, I'm really not a fan of messy and splatters to me = messy!  I'm so OCD, trying to live life dangerously in my hold age 😂😂

I die cut the Slimline Connected Bubbles Die three times and adhered them together to make a more substanial frame then adhered it on to the panel.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the bunnies from my favourite Whimsy Stamps sets Bunny Balloons and Bunny Balloons 2 and added them to the front of the card with foam tape.

Caveman Grog - more new Whimsy Stamps goodies! 💖

I'll admit, when I first saw this Caveman Grog stamp set  from Whimsy Stamps I was like ..... hmmm this is so not my style and I've no clue what to do with it.  Then I saw the new Zebra Stripes Background stamp and I was sold.  See, my all time favourite series of books that I have read and re-read umpteen times is the Earth's Children series by Jean M. Auel which is an EPIC series about pre-historic times.  Just pure golden magic!  So, getting back to the Zebra Stripe stamp I starting thinking tiger .... orange and yellow ink blending and yep, I was away.

I loved every second I spent making this card, it's the first time I've experimented with my copics in a looooong time, and was so happy with how the sky turned out.  After stamping and masking Grog, I lay down the colours in streaks in the following order, though sometimes going back over with random colours to get the blend I was after.  YR30, YR00, E95, R00, R30, RV000, B60, BV00.  I then wanted a stone floor but wasn't getting over adventurous haha, so grabbed the Giraffe Stencil and lightly inked through the stencil with pumice stone, just enough to give me a pattern to follow with my copics.  I used W3, 1, 0 and 00 for this.

Grog was coloured with the following Copics:

Skin: E04, 11, 000
Hair: BV29, 25, 23
Clothes: YR23, 31, 30 BV29, 25
His "desk" and laptop (snort) W5, 3, 1, 0, 00; C3, 1, 0
Club E29, 25, 50

I then stamped and heat embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set, and saw the "Maybe time for upgrade" sentiment and yep, that HAD to go on the card.  Priceless!  Honestly, every single one of the computer sentiments in that stamp set SO fits my hubby.  He knows how to turn it on and turn it off, anything else and he's snookered 😂

I'll be back tomorrow with a card using a new slimline die from Whimsy Stamps.  Until then, here's a peek at what some of the DT girls came up with for this mini release that's happening today

Bunny balloons and scallops galore!

My hubby had a heart attack and surgery 3 weeks ago, though he had been very poorly for a few months before that so I've not had much time at all to craft.  Hence a super quick and easy card today with a bit of stamping, colouring and die cutting.  This card literally made itself, just what I needed with things so manic, and likely to stay this way for a good while yet.

I started off by inking up a cloudy background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.  I then used the FaDoodles Frames Scalloped Rectangle Dies to cut the panel and then used the FaDoodles Frames Clear Stamps  to frame the panel.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the bunny and balloons from the Bunny Balloons Clear Stamps , added a sentiment and some sequins and job done!

Look after yourselves, stay safe and go and hug your loved ones! 💖

Soul Sisters

Whimsy Stamps has a new mini release today and I went for some new, some old on my card.

I started off by inking a panel of card with distress oxides - fossilised amber, dried marigold, picked raspberry and chipped sapphire.  After it was dry I stamped on trees from the Create a Scene - Forest rubber stamp, added splatters with white gouache and then drew in some stars with a white gel pen.  I die cut the Arched Window Die four times and adhered them together to make the window frame pop a bit from the card.

I die cut a scalloped trim from the new Calico 6x6 paper pack ..... those papers are delicious!!  Just saying!)  I used the FaDoodles Scalloped Rectangle Frames, and trimmed it to fit along the bottom of the window.  I also used the Calico paper to stamp and die cut the cushions.  The dies form part of the new Soul Sisters Dies and Soul Sisters Stamps sets.

I coloured the image with copic markers before die cutting and popped the girlie up on the window ledge with some foam squares, then finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Everyday Mini Sentiments stamps.

I wanted a bold and bright sky background and I think blending the colours I did really make that sky bright!

Hello Bear - Slimline Style

Whimsy Stamps has a new mini release today and these bears from the Hello Bear Stamp Set!!  And the new Slimline Die, and the new stencil and the new background stamp and yeah - I used a few new goodies on this card! 🥰️🥰️

I die cut the panel with the new Slimline Card Builder Die set.  Really love this die because there are extras so you can cut out windows - square, circle and oval.  But if you want a lovely stitched panel with no cut outs then the option is there (I SO used this option!).

I inked the honey drip using Distress Oxide Fossilised Amber and the new Honeycomb Drips Stencil  then masked that area off so I could ink in the sky with Tumbled Glass DO.  I freehand cut a curved mask for the hill and inked that with Cracked Pistachio DO.

I wanted to pop another hill in the front and so I die cut a piece of card using the  Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set and then inked that.  It looked a bit plain and to be honest I didn't have the time to sit and draw in grass with copics so I took the new Leaves Background Rubber Stamp and inked the hill with that.  LOVE the effect this gives and will definitely be using the background stamp ... a lot .... for quick and easy texture for backgrounds.

I coloured up that sweet little bear and the bee hive from the Hello Bear Stamp Set and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment.
