Tropical Cove

Yes!!  I've now got the perfect image for those difficult male cards - birthdays, retirement, get well, thinking of you ... this stamp does it all and this card was such a doddle to make!

I started off by inking a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock (I like to ink before I stamp and emboss).  I lay the stamp next to the panel face up whilst I was inking to try and apply the colours where I wanted them to go.  I started with Antique Linen, blended in with Cracked Pistachio then finised off with Chipped Sapphire (all Oxides).

Once this was dry I heat embossed the Tropical Cove stamp with white embossing powder, trimmed the image to fit and mounted this on to a panel of black card then finished off with a sentiment from the Everyday Banner Digi Sentiments and a nautical charm which I attached with a piece of twine.

More Unicorn Love

I did say in my previous post that I had another card featuring the sublime  Unicorn Wishes stamp set, and here it is.  I went with soft and pretty colours again, they just work so well with these sweet stamps.

I inked up the background with distress oxides, I used Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar.  I then die cut the panel with my fave  Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set and then inked up some scraps of card with the same colours I used on the sky to cut out the rainbow using the Array of Rainbows die set.  I cut the set 3 times then adhered in place then popped some clouds that I die cut from the same set.

I stamped a sentiment from the Shine Bright Stamp Set on to the panel with Memento black ink and mounted the panel on to some pearlescent green card stock.

I love this stamp set so much I can see me wearing it out!

Enjoy the weekend, we've got thunderstorms forecast.  Lovely!  Just what you don't want for the weekend when you've been at work all week.

Unicorn Wishes

Whimsy Stamps has a new mini release today and I. am. in. love. 😍

One of the stamp sets is Unicorn Wishes, these have to be the sweetest and prettiest unicorns I've ever seen in my life.  Those eyelashes, well jealous here ha!

I decided to make a slimline card and cut four strips of card and three of vellum using the fab Grass and Cloud Edger Die set ) and Distress Oxides.  I inked up each of the four card strips with Shaded lilac, cracked pistachio, scattered straw and lastly picked raspberry.  I went a bit heavy on the inking for a darker look.  I layered up the card and vellum strips then edged the card strips with some Distress Glitter and a glue pen.

The colouring really is a doddle on these wee cuties, I used copics in the following colours:

Body: C3, 1, 0, 00
Hooves: BV29, 25, 23
Manes/Tails/Butterflies: BV04, 01, YR31, 30, BG13, 10, RV04, 02
Wings: RV02/YR30

I finished off wih a few sparkly sequins and a sentiment from the Unicorn Wishes stamp set.

Here's some awesomeness from the DT giirlies.  The other card I made using this stamp set is in there, I'll post that in the next few days.

Flower Friends, a new to me digi artist

I have fallen head over heels in love with a new to me artist on Etsy, IsabelCristinaStamps.  Her characters have the most sweetest little faces - LOVE! 💗  The selection she has in her Etsy store is phenomenal, and the print quality is brilliant too.  No, I'm not affiliated in any way but when I find something that is fantastic I'm going to shout about it!

I've used the Flower Friends stamp set for this card.  I printed the images out, coloured them then fussy cut them.  I created a background with stencilling and a very light application of distress inks and a bit of die cutting for the grass border and little flowers.  The sentiment is an old, old, old Spellbinders one, I just trimmed the ends off as they were dangling too long across the card.  The scalloped layer on the card is die cut with Whimsy Stamps  Slimline Scallop Die.

I've bought a fair few more sets that I can't wait to print out and colour.

Oops, I forgot

The Super Dogs Clear Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps got another airing.  That little dog is just too cute, with those big puppy dog eyes and I thought it would go so well with the Oops Word and Shadow Die Set

I stamped and coloured the dog with copic markers, this one is soooo quick and easy - C3, 1, 0 for the dog, R30 for his tongue and B04 with a touch of B00 for his scarf.  Job done!

I cut the panel at a wonky angle and mounted this on to a piece of patterned paper from the Pets Woof paper pack.  I added a dash and dot line around the wonky panel with a 005 black Micron pen.

I die cut the Oops shadow from black card stock and the word die from white which I then coloured in a ombre look using B04, 02, 00 copics.  The copic blues matched up so well with the paper.  I mounted every other letter with foam tape and adhered to the shadow, then finished off with a mini sentiment from the Cheeky Sentiments Stamp Set

I love that I got two completely different looks from this stamp set, yesterday's card focusing on the comic book/super heroes look and this one anything but.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope it's ..... Super Dog!

Whimsy Stamps, is continuing with the fun comic theme with today's mini release.

I've used the Super Dogs Clear Stamp Set along with the Comics 6 x 6 paper pack  and kept this card really simple (for me!).

I coloured the doggie with copic markers C3, 1, 0; C7, 5; R29, 24 14; R30 and fussy cut the image out.  I die cut a star into a panel of white card stock and popped a piece of the Comics paper behind the cut out then popped the panel up on some 3D foam.  This was all adhered to a navy card base.

I stamped out the sentiment and D sign onto the name navy card and heat embossed both, and finished off with some glitter stars that I had in my stash.  A really quick and simple card that's different from everything else out there.  Whimsy Stamps to the rescue again 😍

And here's a peek at what the other DT girls have been getting up to with the new goodies.

BAM! Just like that it's release day at Whimsy Stamps

This is such an awesome release from Whimsy Stamps, can you say fun?  I don't think I've quite seen stamps as brilliant as these Bam You're Old clear stamps, perfect for all.  And don't even get me started on the Slimline Film Strip Die!  And then they went and finished it all off with the brilliant Comic Half Tone Stencil.  Just genius, but then again how clever were Whimsy Stamps to innovate and develop the Slimline Dies first a few months back.  This is why I've stayed with Whimsy for so long, not only are the girls the best, but they're always one step ahead of everyone else. Total winners 🥇

So, on to my card.  I used the  Comic Half Tone Stencil. with yellow, read and blue ink for the background, then stamped out the "BAM! on to white card and coloured that with copics to match the red on the background.  I did the same with the top and bottom sentiments then cut them out using the  Comic Speech Bubble Die Set

I coloured the character with copic markers:

Skin: E11, 00, 000, R30
Hair: C7, 5
Blue: B28, 26, 24
Reds: R28, 24, 14

I stamped out the skyline background in black ink then fussy cut that, the BAM and the character.
Assembling the card was a doddle, I popped up the Slimline Film Strip Die! with black foam then added the character and sentiments, also using foam.  A few sequins because .... BLING! and a fun and different card.

Can I just say again ..... that Slimline Film Strip Die! Brilliant!

The Whimsy DT have made some amazing projects using this new release, here's a wee glimpse at some of them
