It's Fresh Friday on the Whimsy Blog where some of the DT girlies feature and mix up products old and new.
I used the Happy Sky Stamp Set (I don't have the matching dies so did a bit of simple fussy cutting). I was also "supposed" to use the Smile Large Word Die, but did I? Did I heck! I got so focused on the happy that I used the Happy Large Word Die instead. 🤦♀️ There's always one, and it's usually me! 😂
Anyhoo, I decided to make a long card to be able to fit the elements in, and I think these balloons are just perfect for a long card.
I started off by stamping the fair ground at the bottom of the panel then inked up a rainbowish sky using a home made stencil (acetate and the fab Grass and Cloud Edger Die set ) and Distress Oxides. I started with Shaded Lilac then Mowed Lawn, Cracked Pistachio, Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry. I didn't bother adding splatters, I'm still not sure I'm overly keen on the spotchy look, it makes me twitchy haha.
I coloured the images with copic markers to match the sky and fussy cut them out then popped them in place with some foam tape. I die cut the Happy word 3 times from white card and once from a pale silver glitter card and layered them altogether before fixing in place and finished off with some sequins.
This is so very different from what I would normally attempt but I had such a blast making it I think I'm hooked on this style of card.
