Happy Skies for Fresh Friday

It's Fresh Friday on the Whimsy Blog where some of the DT girlies feature and mix up products old and new.

I used the Happy Sky Stamp Set (I don't have the matching dies so did a bit of simple fussy cutting).  I was also "supposed" to use the Smile Large Word Die, but did I?  Did I heck!  I got so focused on the happy that I used the Happy Large Word Die instead. 🤦‍♀️  There's always one, and it's usually me! 😂

Anyhoo, I decided to make a long card to be able to fit the elements in, and I think these balloons are just perfect for a long card.

I started off by stamping the fair ground at the bottom of the panel then inked up a rainbowish sky using a home made stencil (acetate and the fab Grass and Cloud Edger Die set ) and Distress Oxides.  I started with Shaded Lilac then Mowed Lawn, Cracked Pistachio, Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry.  I didn't bother adding splatters, I'm still not sure I'm overly keen on the spotchy look, it makes me twitchy haha.

I coloured the images with copic markers to match the sky and fussy cut them out then popped them in place with some foam tape.  I die cut the Happy word 3 times from white card and once from a pale silver glitter card and layered them altogether before fixing in place and finished off with some sequins.

This is so very different from what I would normally attempt but I had such a blast making it I think I'm hooked on this style of card.

Menopause - WTF?

No menopause for me because I'm a re-engineered sports model, ha! The new Whimsy Stamps mini release that goes live today is what the menopause header is all about 😉

I really had to think hard about how I could use the new WTF Word  Shadow Die Set without using a naughty word and thanks to the Menopause Clear Stamp Set I managed it.  I used Word to quickly type up the rest of the sentiment before die cutting it out with the new Comic Speech Bubble Die Set.

I used a sheet of patterned paper that I think totally sums up how we feel when we're having a hot flush (yes, the sentiment says flash but to me it will always be a flush) and it's from the fabulous Rainbow Paper Pack.  I also die cut the WTF from the same piece of patterned paper.

I used my all time favourite  Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set to cut out the panel before adhering to a bright fuschia pink card base.

There's a sale going on at Whimsy Stamps too!

So Deeply Sorry

I made this card a while back but held back on posting it as the stamp set and die was out of stock at Whimsy Stamps, you all loved these two almost as much as I loved making this card!

The card base is a standard A2.  I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the Fabulous Florals Paper Pack - this paper pack is seriously gorgeous!  I then die cut the Spring Ovals Die Set, inked the back panel with Tattered Rose DO Ink, added some splatters with black paint then raised the top lacy panel with some foam pads.

I stamped the flower branch from the Sympathy So Deeply Sorry Stamp Set and coloured with copic markers.  I used RV95, 93, 91, C7, 5, 3, 1.  I added in some shading with Prismacolor pencils, and finished off with a sentiment from the stamp set which I heat embossed.

Continuing on with the animal theme and mini releases from Whimsy Stamps, today's card features the Catitude Clear Stamp Set along with the Fish and Mice Border Die Set and the Kitty Cat Extras Die Set.

I die cut the fish bowl along with a couple fish and also some sea plants which I coloured with copics.  I inked up another panel with Tumbled Glass and Scattered Straw and also masked off a strip along the side to stamp on the gingham pattern.  I used the Criss-Cross Gingham Background Stamp and Tumbled Glass DO ink for this.

I coloured the cat with copic markers, added a couple of sentiments (love the attitude ha!) and finished off with some fish bones from the Fish and Mice Border Die Set in the bottom corner.

Whimsy Stamps New Release = gotta love those wrinkles

Today sees another  Whimsy Stamps mini release and was all over this new Wrinkles Clear Stamp Set, the Puppy Paws Die Set and the Pets Woof Paper Pack

I mean ..... that FACE!  Dogs are my thing you know, I could never be that mad cat lady.  But dogs?  Oh yeah, with bells on!

I was going to make a shaker card with the large paw die but didn't want to detract from that pup so went with glitter card and chocolate brown cardstock instead.

I used copics to colour the pup, then fussy cut it out.  Colours used:

E43, 41, 40; C9, 7, 5 and BG53, 000 along with some Nuvo glitter drops for the collar.

I finished off with a heat embossed sentiment.

Here's a peek at what some of my teamies did with the new goodies.

Barnyard Squares - new for May!

Wow, April has been the most surreal month I could ever have imagined, and it just whizzed by.

It's release day at Whimsy Stamps, and they've changed things up in light of this awful pandemic and doing smaller releases throughout the month.

I'm showcasing the Barnyard Squares, isn't that moo cow just the cutest?!  I coloured the image up with copic markers.  I used the following markers C9,7,3; W1, 0, 00, R02, 00, E42 for the cow, B00, 000 for the sky and YG 17, 03 and  R83, 81

I used the delish Licorice Paper Pack for the background, and stamped a sentiment from the set on to a scrap of pink card.  I die cut the panels and the card base with the Notched Squares Die Set

Here's a sneaky peek at what the DT have come up with for this week's new goodies.
