Whimsy Stamps Mini Release #2 ... I spy a Unicorn!

There's another mini release out today at Whimsy Stamps, this one is all about the Polka Dot Pals!  I decided to focus the accessory stamps from the Polka Dot Pals Mason stamp set instead of using the main image because .... Unicorn!!

I wanted to try something a bit different for me and kept the bottom half of the card white, apart from the sentiment, and I'm rather chuffed with the design.  I stamped and masked the wee unicorn then filled in with the flowers.  After inking the sky with my home made stencil that I die cut from some mylar using the Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set I coloured the image with copic markers and went heavy on the greens for the grass.

I die cut the panel with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I finished off with some sequins and a sentiment from the Shine Bright Stamp Set.  Isn't that sentiment just perfect for the image?

And here's a peek at what some of my other teamies have done with this cute mini release

Whimsy Mini Release and it's all about the PINK

I seriously do NOT need an excuse to use pink, and couple it with green and I'm so in my happy place.  This has to be my all time favourite colour combo!  So I was tickled pink (ha!) when I saw the goodies that Whimsy Stamps are releasing as part of the April mini release.  Not my style at all but oh man!  Did I ever LOVE making these cards!

For my first card I used a sheet of paper from the Festive Desert Paper Pack, I'm still drooling over the colours in this pack. I stamped out and coloured three of the cacti from the Cute Cacti Clear Stamps and coloured them with copic markers (I'll list the colours I used at the end of the post).  I don't have the matching dies so fussy cut the images out and adhered on to white card that I coloured with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  I die cut the white card using the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set, then finished off with a sentiment also from the stamp set and some sequins.

For the second card, I used another sheet of patterned paper from the Festive Desert Paper PackI stamped, coloured and fussy cut a cacti and mounted this on to a panel I made by die cutting a frame from two dies in the Rounded Rectangles Die Set and popped a piece of vellum behind.  I wanted to separate the image from the busy patterned paper but didn't want to cover the whole pattern up, so the vellum did the trick.

I used another sentiment from the Everyday Mini Sentiments Stamp set, this time I heat embossed it, and finished off with some sparkly rhinestones.

I have to say, I think this paper pack is the best one Whimsy Stamps have released to date.  Did I already say the colours were drool-worthy?

Copic colours used:
Cacti: G29, YG63, YG03, YG01
Pink: R85, R83, R81
Turquoise: BG49, BG45. BG000

Hugs Bunny take 2

Following on from my previous post, here's the second card I made using the adorable Hugs Bunny Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps.  I stuck with the soft colour scheme and colouring, and used up some of my patterned papers that I have had for so long I can;t even remember buying them!

I used the following copic markers:

Bunny W3, 1, 0, 00, R20
Bear E53, 51, 50

I made some more foamiran flowers, again using the new  Poppy Flower Die Set  I really like that I can get two different looks from one die set just by changing up how the flowers are moulded after heating.

I used the  the Notched Squares Dies for the top layer then die cut one of the ovals from the Spring Ovals Die Set to pop under the images and flower arrangement.  I finished off with a sentiment from the Hugs Bunny stamp set.

Hugs Bunny

I hope you're all keeping well and safe.  There's one thing to be said for social distancing, it's certainly given me time to potter in my craft room.  I can't remember when last I made a card just because I wanted to, and I thin it showed with this one because this card is so ME!  Pink, pretty and fussy foo-foo, just like I like them.  I love these DT cards, but oh man I do not love trying to photograph them!

I stamped and coloured the image from the Hugs Bunny Stamp Set with copic markers before fussy cutting it out.  I kept the colouring soft and used the following markers:

W3, 1, 0, 00, R20, V95, 93, 91

I made some foamiran flowers using the new Poppy Flower Die Set , two very different flowers from one die set.  The little blossom flowers were made with pale pink foam and just heated on the iron (no shaping) and the larger flower started off white and was coloured with gelatos.

There are foamiran flower tutorials on my YouTube Channel.

I used the  Connected Oval Frame Die to stand the bunnies on,  I die cut 3 frames and glued them together.  I used the border die from the Upon a Star Die Set which I die cut from plaid paper.  And I finished off with some sequins and a computer generated sentiment.

Herbs in pottery

Whimsy Stamps has it's April release now live in the store.  For my first April card I chose to work with the Herbs in Pottery stamp, it's perfect for so many different cards I think.

I stamped the sentiment from the You're my jolly stamp set direct on to the coloured panel (thank goodness for the old Misti!) and then die cut the panel using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles dies.

I kept this simple with just a strip of black and white striped paper and a few clear droplets to make the image, coloured with copics, pop.

I love that this will be suitable for both men and women, just by changing up the colours and layout.
