Prismacolor Flowers

I decided to try something a bit different for a change, and coloured up this gorgeous floral image from the Enjoy the Little Things stamp set from  Whimsy Stamps.  It's been a while since I dug out my pencils and I really need to do this more often, I love how the colouring turned out.

I did some no line colouring - a first for me - and was surprised just how easy it is to do.  I used Antique Linen Distress Ink to stamp up the image before hitting it with the pencils.

I had intended to just have the stamp as the whole card, but one of the lads at work had a closer look at the coloured image and left oily fingerprints on the one side.  I could have cried!!  So, I had to trim it down and offset it with some black and white striped paper.  I used the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles to cut the image down.  The next time he comes anywhere near my crafty stuff I may have to rearrange his fingers 😜

The lovely sentiment is also from the stamp set, I heat embossed that with white super fine embossing powder.

Back in a few days with cards for the new Whimsy Stamps October release.

Falling Leaves

Instead of using the new Falling Leaves background stamp as a background, I decided to highlight sections of it for two cards.  I got two cards from the one inking and heat embossing, and they came together so quickly too.

I heat embossed gold embossing powder on to a piece of patterned paper.  I felt the embossing wasn't popping enough, so I added some peeled paint distress ink in places to darken the background a wee bit.

For the first card, I die cut some  Pierced and Stitched Circles and arranged them on the card.  The Birthday Word and Shadow Die set was cut from glitter card and vellum.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from the You're my Jolly stamp set with heat embossing on a piece of black card and some black Nuvo Drops

For the second card I used a panel of the embossed background and added some die cut leaves from the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set.  I coloured some with copic markers, some are die cut from glitter card, and I popped in a few berries and some branch thingymajiggies that I picked up from Hobbycraft (in their flower arranging section, around £2 for a good sized bag).  I added a sentiment from the Fly By clear stamps set and some Nuvo Drops

Shabby Foamiran Flowers

I decided to get shabby with some foamiran flowers for a change, whilst I like CAS cards, my true love is still the more is more shabby chic card.

I had these foamiran peonies left over from another project that I've been wanting to use up, so when I was having a rummage through my bajillion paper pads and this old Prima pad jumped up and bit me on the hand well, I had to make this card.  It would've been rude not to.

I used the  Peony Flower Die set and coloured the white foamiran with oil pastels.  I cut the card and paper layers from the Notched Squares Die set and layered them up with foam pads for added dimension.  I spattered the top layer with diluted white paint.

The flowers and foliage were adhered on to a die cut doily and finished off with a twine bow.

A sentiment from the Everyday Banner Sentiments, a chipboard heart and a few sparkles finished off the card.

Jingle Owl the Way!

These sweet little Christmas Owls from the Happy Owlidays Stamp Set from  Whimsy Stamps are just the cutest!  So are the fun sentiments that go with them ... I mean, Jingle Owl The Way (snort) 😂

I created the background panel by stamping the Farmhouse Shiplap background stamp onto white card then heat embossing with white pearl embossing powder then die cut a circle out and popped a piece of patterned paper behind to help the little owl pop.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers:

E44, E42, E40, W1, W0, W00 for the body of the owl
E35, 33, 30 for the antlers and feet
B39, 37, 34 for the blue
YR23, 31, Y11 for the beak and bells.

I die cut some holly, mistletoe and berries from the  Christmas Branches die set
and finished off with a few clear Nuvo drops (that I made by dropping on to freezer paper and allowing to dry before adhering to the card - they are way more dimensional done this way as they don't get absorbed into the card when drying).

I die cut the sentiment with the  Quick Strips Die Set

The Happy Owlidays Stamp Set sold out not long after they were released, and I'm not surprised either.  They're back in stock now if you want them.

Fishing Dragons

I'm loving these fun Dragon stamps that Whimsy Stamps have, this month they released two clear stamp sets and my card today features Fishing Dragons.   They make for perfect mens cards, and I've teamed the stamp set with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set and the Celebrate Word and Shadow Die set.

I created a background scene by inking the sky with Distress Oxide - Tumbled Glass, and inked a piece of card with Mowed Lawn before die cutting it with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die SetI added some flicks with green copics for the grass.

I used copic markers to colour the dragon and grass.

Dragon and Grass: YG67, 63, 01; E43, 41, 40
Waistcoat: B39, 37, 34
Bucket and Fish: C7, 5, 3, 1, 0

Two cards today - Colouring Die cuts and a Shaker Card

I made a couple of Halloween/autumn themed cards using some of the new dies at Whimsy StampsFirst up is a long, slim card using one of the new Slimline Dies that Whimsy released this month.  I've not seen anything like this before, and tall cards are so popular right now.

I've used the Marquee Die for my first card and kept it simple by using a sheet of wood patterned paper for the entire card, dropping the windows to the back by using foam tape to lift the main part of the die off the card.

I die cut pumpkins and leaves using the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set, then coloured them with copic markers.  I LOVE the result!!  I've not done this before with die cuts and wow, it gives the look of no-line colouring.  I'm definitely doing this again.  I finished this card off with a heat embossed sentiment from the  Everyday Mini Sentiments Stamp set.

My next card is a simple halloween shaker card using both old and new products from Whimsy.

I die cut the pumpkin (again using the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set) from a sheet of black card, heat embossed a sentiment from the You're My Boo Stamp Set and adhered a piece of acetate to the back.  I then die cut another pumpkin from white card and coloured the stalk with copics and adhered this in place.

I finished off with a bit of orange twine and some sequins for a bit extra bling.

I love it when a stamp almost colours itself, and this Wolf's Head stamp by Whimsy Stamps does just that.  Only a little colouring with W copic markers and a touch of yellow for the eyes and job done!

I stamped the iimage on to Neenah cardstock and coloured with my W5, 3, 1, 0 and 00 markers for the fur and YR24/Y11 for the eyes.  I die cut it using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set.

I went all masculine with this card, and kept the colours simple so the image would pop.  A sentiment from the  Everyday Banner Sentiments (digi) and a bit of twine just finished the card off.

Ellie's Bauble! New at Whimsy Stamps

Ooh when my DT kit arrived I was like a kid in a toy shop, I wanted to play with all the goodies all at once!  But, Ellie's Bauble and the fab new Arched Window Die won out and I made a shaker card with loadsa bling because ..... Christmas!!

I stamped the Santa's sleigh from the Christmas Scene Builder stamp set on to some wintry paper and was going to call it done.  Then I thought I would die cut a tree from the Evergreen Trees die set and added some colour with copic markers and some bling for the baubles.
I coloured Ellie with copic markers using:
Ellie: W5,3,1,0,00
Star & lights: YR24, Y11
Hat: R46, 27, 24, 30; C1, 0, 00
Tinsel:  BG99, G46,43,20

I finished off with a handmade paper poinsettia using the Lily Flower die set and 180gsm red card from Hobbycraft.  The centre is a little gold jingle bell.  I added some foliage from the Christmas Branch Die Set, and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments stamp set.

I'll be back in a couple days with another card featuring another of the new stamps.
