Birthday Shaker Card

These sea themed stamps and dies that have been recently released by Whimsy Stamps make those difficult male cards a doddle!

For this card, I inked up a piece of smooth white card with distress inks ... mowed lawn, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon and a touch of faded jeans.  The green was ... too green lol so I went over that section again with old paper to tone it down.

I then stamped on the Mini Bubbles Background Stamp and heat embossed it with Wow! Opaque White EP.  I made a frame from two different die sets - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles and  Card Builder Windows die sets, and added some die cuts from the Build an Ocean die set in gold glitter card and vellum.  I finished off with a sentiment from the Birthday Word and Shadow Die Set which I die cut 3 times from white card and once from a left over piece from the background which I glued together to make it more dimensional.

Penguin's tidings of joy

Whimsy Stamps have a cute lil' penguin stamp set out this month called Penguin Lean on Me!  I don't think it was designed for Christmas but give me the opportunity to twist a stamp into a Christmas card and I'm ALL over that!  So, here's my non-Christmas, Christmas card 😁

I stamped and coloured the angel penguin with copic markers then fussy cut it out and popped it up on the background.

The fab sky paper is from the Starry Night Digital Papers set also from Whimsy Stamps. I added a couple of Christmas trees that I die cut from glitter cardstock using the Evergreen Trees Die Set.

I created a couple of snow banks also from the glitter card to ground the penguin and trees and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments Clear Stamp Set

Birthday Wishes

I combined a bit of inky CAS with some handmade flowers, so I was back in my happy place.

I die cut some Peony flowers from watercolour paper, the paper I used is just a cheap pad at around 200 gsm so easy to mould and shape and strong enough to handle it too.  I coloured the flowers with distress inks then spritzed lightly with some water and moulded them on a foam pad whilst still wet.  I set them aside to dry then finished them off with stamens and beads for the centres.

Whilst the flowers were drying I made up the card by inking a piece of acetate with some Pumice Stone distress ink, spritzed it then sploged it on to the piece of card (DL sized) more or less where I wanted it.  I added some splatters of Pumice Stone and Black Soot inks and once dry stamped on the Birthday Wishes greeting.

I finished off with a wreath die cut and some leaves in white and also in the matching Pumice Stone to blend in with the background.  Oh and some black Nuvo Drops too.

Whimsy Build an Ocean

I'm back with another summer/sea themed card using some of the latest  Whimsy Stamps products released this week.

I stamped the Curly Qs background stamp onto pale blue card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder, then die cut with my favourite Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles dies (I also used this set for the card base).

I die cut some bits 'n bobs from the Build an Ocean die set:
Seaweed - white card and vellum
Sea horses - blue glitter card
Shells and starfish - gold glitter card

A sentiment stamped from the You're Birthday stamp set along with a few clear droplets made with Nuvo drops finished the card off.  Another of those difficult male cards done and in the bag! 😁
