Whale of a time

The stamp set is called Whale of a time (from Whimsy Stamps) and a whale of a time I had making this fun card.  It was so, so simple to make even if it’s a million miles from mu fussy and foofy cards!

I used some patterned paper and splashed some while paint over it to resemble bubbles and stamped a sentiment from the stamp set into the top window.  After colouring the sweet whale and dolphin I fussy cut them and adhered them on to the backing paper.  Aren’t these stamps just the cutest, they are the prettiest sea life I’ve ever seen …. made this old hard heart melt in a puddle of goo, I tell ya lol.

I die cut the new Wonky Window 1 die and popped it up on some foam tape and attached it to the base of the card.

A few clear dew drops for bubbles from the Island Breeze Sparkletz bling and job done.  A super quick, easy and cute card to make.

Speckled Heart in Bling!

Whimsy Stamps released the Speckled Heart stencil this month, so I decided to go BLING using embossing ink and powder instead of paste and used sentiments from the new You’re too Kind stamp set.  I think I kinda got the bling down pat lol,

I started off by applying the ink pad direct to paper through the stencil, then sprinkled over the embossing powder and heat set.  I used a glittery EP and the sparkle IRL is fabulous!  Once I'd heat set it I die cut the layer using the Notched Squares Die set.

I made with some foamiran flowers using the Peony Flower Die Set, glitter card and vellum leaves and some clear acrylic drops.

I stamped and heat embossed the friend sentiment onto vellum and stuck this down (the bold lettering makes the perfect hiding spot for the glue.)  On another note, HOW??  How the heck can two photos taken seconds after each other in the same place, same lighting, etc come out in two different tones?  How?  I really wanna know because this camera is doing my old head in!

So, we go from dull as dishwater picture above to sparkly and shiny below.  I really don’t get it.

Angel Celeste

I’m back with another new release card, this is Angel Celeste.  Isn’t she just a little poppet?  She’s part of the Whimsy Stamps January release and is available now in the Whimsy Stamps store.

I used the following copic markers to colour the image:

Hair: E57,55,53,51,50
Skin: E04,11,00,000,R20
Wings: BV20,C3,C0
Cloud: BV20, B000,B0000
Dress: B34,42,21,000,0000
Stars: Y28,YR23,Y11

I used the Notched Squares die set to die cut the card base and layers.  Love this shape.

Ugh, the colour isn't very good on the next shot, as soon as I change the angle of the camera it has a doofer fit sigh.

I think the papers are Maja Design, all I know is I’ve had them for years, been saving them for something …. what?  I have no clue lol.

Happy New Year and new Whimsy Stamps goodies

Happy New Year to all the lovely people that stop by here,  I truly hope that 2019 is going to be wonderful for us all.

So, the beginning of the month sees Whimsy Stamps launch some fabulous new goodies – hmm I have a New theme going on here today, ha!  I’ve used the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp.  Oh my goodness, it’s ah-may-zing!  All that detail stamps to perfection and I’ve even heat embossed it on another card and every one of those super fine lines shows perfect detail.  I used Memento London Fog ink on pale grey card for today’s card.

I love the pop of red on this one.  I die cut the Thanks Word and Shadow Die set from red and white card and popped the die cut up with some foam tape on top of a doily die cut that I chopped in half.  I added the “so much” from the new You’re too kind stamp set  and then die cut that using the fabulous new Quick Strips Die Set.  This set is going to be one I use over and over, it’s brilliant for quick sentiments.

A bit of silver trim and some silver pearls and a strip of the excess stamped background for the inside of the card and I called this one done.
