Sending Smles

I don't make many Easter cards at all, but couldn't help myself when I saw this cute little bunny in the Build-a-Basket Die Set.

I wish I  had used a plain white background when I shot the photos though, the wood effect totally interferes with my spring theme lol.

I die cut a card shape from an egg die set, layered up with some paper that I've had for years then di cut three bunnies from gingham paper.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Painted Sayings stamp set trimmed into a banner for the bunnies to sit on.

Hello Gorgeous!

Guess who dug out the old watercolours and some Whimsy Stamps goodies and had a play?  It's been an absolute age since I had the time to fiddle about and try something very different, and I had a blast.  It's a lot easier than it looks and I'm really happy with how this card turned out.

I stamped the Wire Background Stamp onto watercolour card and heat embossed with some white Wow embossing powder.  I then taped down the paper onto a board and brushed on water, then splodged on red and black Gansai Tambi watercolours, lifting the colour if it looked too dark with a piece of paper towel.  I then got very brave and spattered red, black and white onto the background.  Go me!!
I decided the wire background wasn't standing out enough so I created a drop shadow using a C3 copic marker.  What a difference that made.
I then used the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles to cut out the panel.

I stamped out and coloured the butterflies from the Butterflies Fluttering stamp set.  I used C5,7 and 9 for the black and RV 14, 13 and 10 for the hot pink.  I fussy cut these out and adhered them on to the card with some thin double sided foam squares.

A sentiment from my Everyday Banner Sentiments (digi) and a few flat-back gems and job done.

Angel Ariel

I was thrilled to bits when I saw  Whimsy Stamps had included Angel Ariel in the March release!  I think she's my favourite of all the stamps in the MF collection.  I added a sentiment from the sweet   Bunny Balloons 2 stamp set.

I switched up the copic skin colours this time, and I really like this combo.

Skin: E04, E11, E01, E000, E20
Hair: E40, 42, 44
Wings: BV20, C3, 0
Dress: R35, 32, 20, 000
Flowers/Sandals: R29, 24, 22
Halo: YR27, 24, Y11

The delish papers are by Anna Marie Designs, I had to get a pad (um okay so 2 pads) of every colourway because they are just so lovely

I added to Tim Holtz Distress Glitter to the flowers and finished off with a little heart charm.  Those tiny white flowers are made from coffee filters.  So cute!

Bunny Balloons

I love the Whimsy Stamps bunny stamps and these little cuties from the new Bunny Balloons 2 stamp set are just the sweetest!

I made the background by stamping out and heat embossing the new Messy Mesh background stamp with white embossing powder.  I then inked up the background with Tumbled Glass and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink to give a sky and grassy background.  The green was a bit on the flat side so I flicked in some grass using a polychromo pencil.  Ah, much better!

I stamped out a sentiment from the Bunny Balloons set and die cut it out from a cloud die.

I coloured the bunnies with copic markers, fussy cut them out and popped them on the card with some 3D foam.  I gave the balloons a shine with some Nuvo glaze.

Copic colours used:
Bunnies: W3, 1, 0, 00, R30, R000
Clothes/Balloons: B02, B00, B0000; G24, 21, 20

I'll be back in a day or two with another card .... featuring the sweet Angel Ariel.

Penguin Poop!

Penguin Poop!  Seriously, this stamp set from Whimsy Stamps cracks me up!  The sentiments are just priceless.  I teamed images from the Penguin Poop stamp set with the new Peekaboo Window 3 die .... these little penguins fit in there just perfectly.

This stamp set requires minimal colouring which is great for quick cards.

I added some glossy accents to the heart and ice cream scoops for a bit of shine.

Blue roses, and a touch of teal and grey too!

I've been having a clear out of my craft room .... again and stumbled upon some old Tombow markers that I have had lying in a drawer for YEARS!  I didn't even think they had any ink left in them, they are so old.  But they did so I set to making this card, and I love how it turned out!

I took the new Spiral Roses Background stamp from Whimsy Stamps and coloured the individual flowers with three different colour Tombow markers - a mid blue, a teal and a dark grey.  Once I had coloured all the flowers I spritzed the stamp with a fine mist of water (Tim Holtz' mister bottle worked a treat here!) then popped some watercolour card down onto the stamp and applied even pressure to get the inked impression.  I wish I had spritzed the water a bit heavier, I love how the blurring happened in places but think it could have been a bit heavier.  Oh well, next time.

I die cut the panel using the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle Dies then die cut a heart centre top for the shaker element.  I finished off the card with some flat-back pearls and a sentiment.  I stamped "Love" from the You’re My Always sentiment stamp set direct on to the card and then heat embossed the "always" before popping up on some foam tape for a bit of dimension.

In the words of  Hannibal Smith from The A Team .... I love it when a plan comes together!  😁

Angel Nevaeh

I’m back with a card using one of the new stamps that was released by Whimsy Stamps this month.  It's another of the adorable images by Marina Fedotova, this little sweetie is called Angel Nevaeh

I coloured her with copic markers:

Hair: E44, 42, 40, W00
Dress: R24, 22, 20, 000
Cloud and wings: BV20, 0000, B000,0000, W1
Stars: YR27, 24, Y11

I used papers from Anna Marie Designs, they are so gorgeously shabby!  I added mulberry roses, some die cut leaves, a doily and glitter stars.

If you're happy and you know it wag your tail

Whimsy Stamps released some really fun animal stamp sets this month on the adopt don’t shop theme – how cool is that!  I chose the doggy stamps, me being a doggy fan.

I kept this almost one layer so the doggies could take centre stage.  I coloured the Adopt don’t shop – dogs stamp with copic markers, then layered up 4 of the new Smile large word die cuts and adhered that to the card and finished off with a sentiment from the stamp set, a bit of striped paper and some black gems.

I have so many dog loving friends that I know this stamp set will get a lot of use!

Spiral Roses and die cutting

It’s release day over at Whimsy Stamps and I’ve done something CAS … again.  Woo, go me!

I stamped and heat embossed the gorgeous new Spiral Roses Background Stamp onto pale grey cardstock with white embossing powder, then die cut it using the  Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle Dies.

I die cut the new Friend Word and Shadow Die set in white and black card stock and finished off the card by adding a sentiment from the Everyday Mini Sentiments Stamp set.

I added a thin strip of leftover card to the inside to finish it off
