Shabby Foamiran Flowers

I decided to get shabby with some foamiran flowers for a change, whilst I like CAS cards, my true love is still the more is more shabby chic card.

I had these foamiran peonies left over from another project that I've been wanting to use up, so when I was having a rummage through my bajillion paper pads and this old Prima pad jumped up and bit me on the hand well, I had to make this card.  It would've been rude not to.

I used the  Peony Flower Die set and coloured the white foamiran with oil pastels.  I cut the card and paper layers from the Notched Squares Die set and layered them up with foam pads for added dimension.  I spattered the top layer with diluted white paint.

The flowers and foliage were adhered on to a die cut doily and finished off with a twine bow.

A sentiment from the Everyday Banner Sentiments, a chipboard heart and a few sparkles finished off the card.

Jingle Owl the Way!

These sweet little Christmas Owls from the Happy Owlidays Stamp Set from  Whimsy Stamps are just the cutest!  So are the fun sentiments that go with them ... I mean, Jingle Owl The Way (snort) 😂

I created the background panel by stamping the Farmhouse Shiplap background stamp onto white card then heat embossing with white pearl embossing powder then die cut a circle out and popped a piece of patterned paper behind to help the little owl pop.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers:

E44, E42, E40, W1, W0, W00 for the body of the owl
E35, 33, 30 for the antlers and feet
B39, 37, 34 for the blue
YR23, 31, Y11 for the beak and bells.

I die cut some holly, mistletoe and berries from the  Christmas Branches die set
and finished off with a few clear Nuvo drops (that I made by dropping on to freezer paper and allowing to dry before adhering to the card - they are way more dimensional done this way as they don't get absorbed into the card when drying).

I die cut the sentiment with the  Quick Strips Die Set

The Happy Owlidays Stamp Set sold out not long after they were released, and I'm not surprised either.  They're back in stock now if you want them.

Fishing Dragons

I'm loving these fun Dragon stamps that Whimsy Stamps have, this month they released two clear stamp sets and my card today features Fishing Dragons.   They make for perfect mens cards, and I've teamed the stamp set with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set and the Celebrate Word and Shadow Die set.

I created a background scene by inking the sky with Distress Oxide - Tumbled Glass, and inked a piece of card with Mowed Lawn before die cutting it with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die SetI added some flicks with green copics for the grass.

I used copic markers to colour the dragon and grass.

Dragon and Grass: YG67, 63, 01; E43, 41, 40
Waistcoat: B39, 37, 34
Bucket and Fish: C7, 5, 3, 1, 0

Two cards today - Colouring Die cuts and a Shaker Card

I made a couple of Halloween/autumn themed cards using some of the new dies at Whimsy StampsFirst up is a long, slim card using one of the new Slimline Dies that Whimsy released this month.  I've not seen anything like this before, and tall cards are so popular right now.

I've used the Marquee Die for my first card and kept it simple by using a sheet of wood patterned paper for the entire card, dropping the windows to the back by using foam tape to lift the main part of the die off the card.

I die cut pumpkins and leaves using the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set, then coloured them with copic markers.  I LOVE the result!!  I've not done this before with die cuts and wow, it gives the look of no-line colouring.  I'm definitely doing this again.  I finished this card off with a heat embossed sentiment from the  Everyday Mini Sentiments Stamp set.

My next card is a simple halloween shaker card using both old and new products from Whimsy.

I die cut the pumpkin (again using the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set) from a sheet of black card, heat embossed a sentiment from the You're My Boo Stamp Set and adhered a piece of acetate to the back.  I then die cut another pumpkin from white card and coloured the stalk with copics and adhered this in place.

I finished off with a bit of orange twine and some sequins for a bit extra bling.

Wolf!

I love it when a stamp almost colours itself, and this Wolf's Head stamp by Whimsy Stamps does just that.  Only a little colouring with W copic markers and a touch of yellow for the eyes and job done!

I stamped the iimage on to Neenah cardstock and coloured with my W5, 3, 1, 0 and 00 markers for the fur and YR24/Y11 for the eyes.  I die cut it using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die set.

I went all masculine with this card, and kept the colours simple so the image would pop.  A sentiment from the  Everyday Banner Sentiments (digi) and a bit of twine just finished the card off.

Ellie's Bauble! New at Whimsy Stamps

Ooh when my DT kit arrived I was like a kid in a toy shop, I wanted to play with all the goodies all at once!  But, Ellie's Bauble and the fab new Arched Window Die won out and I made a shaker card with loadsa bling because ..... Christmas!!

I stamped the Santa's sleigh from the Christmas Scene Builder stamp set on to some wintry paper and was going to call it done.  Then I thought I would die cut a tree from the Evergreen Trees die set and added some colour with copic markers and some bling for the baubles.
I coloured Ellie with copic markers using:
Ellie: W5,3,1,0,00
Star & lights: YR24, Y11
Hat: R46, 27, 24, 30; C1, 0, 00
Tinsel:  BG99, G46,43,20

I finished off with a handmade paper poinsettia using the Lily Flower die set and 180gsm red card from Hobbycraft.  The centre is a little gold jingle bell.  I added some foliage from the Christmas Branch Die Set, and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments stamp set.

I'll be back in a couple days with another card featuring another of the new stamps.

Artists Toolkit

I've used the Artists Toolkit stamp set from Whimsy Stamps  to make this really quick and easy card.

I inked up a piece of Neenah card with distress oxides then stamped and heat embossed the images from the stamp set in white embossing powder.  I coloured the palette and paint brushes with my copic markers and fussy cut those out to pop up on some foam squares,

I cut a piece of white card in a jaunty angle and finished off with some doodling, a sentiment from the  Everyday Mini Sentiments Stamp set and a few nuvo drops in black for a bit of extra pop.

Cherished Friend, nice and shabby

Whilst  do like CAS cards, I'm much happier in my more is more shabby zone, so after not touching my pretties for quite a while I had a play today with pretty papers, foamiran, lace, chipboards, and came up with this DL card.  I don't make many in this shape and honestly, I have no idea why not because I love them!

The paper is fairly old, Crafts and You (I think).  I made some foamiran flowers using the Peony Flower Die and pale pink foamiran for the base instead of white and just adding a touch of deeper pink ink to the edges of the petals before heating, twisting and stretching.  The tiny white foamiran flowers are also foam, I just heated them a LOT longer till they couldn't shrink any more.  I was surprised just how dinky these turned out!

I heat embossed the chipboard bird cage with silver embossing powder then dulled it down with a bit of watered down gouache.  I finished off with a digital sentiment from the Everyday Banner Sentiments (digi)

Mermaid Escape

Whimsy Stamps have the most gorgeous mermaid stamp and die set that they released this month.  It's a first for me as I've never made a card where I've build the scene up by colouring and die cutting individual elements .... and I'm sold.  What a fab, fun and easy way to make a card!

The Mermaid Escape clear stamp set and Mermaid Escape die set that were part of a previous Paper Door Kit from Whimsy Stamps are now available individually

I stamped out the elements from the Mermaid Escape clear stamp set and coloured them in with copic markers.  I used the matching Mermaid Escape die set to quickly die cut the images ready to pop on the background.

I made the background by heat embossing the Lotsa Dots background from this month's Paper Door kit then inked over that with distress oxides (old paper, tumbled glass and mermaid lagoon.)

I adhered the elements with glue and some with foam tape for dimension and finished off with a heat embossed anchor from the stamp set and some twine.  Oh and some "pearls" on the mermaid with a white gel pen.

Marble Background & Gothic Wings

Two cards today featuring some more of the new goodies up for grabs at  Whimsy Stamps, and they're both Christmas because ... angel wings! 😍

For the first card I used the gorgeous new Marble Background Stamp, and heat embossed it on to kraft card.  I die cut the smaller wings from the Gothic Die Set from kraft card and coated it in Distress Glitter.  Oh the bling!!

I popped the wings on to a die cut doily and finished off the card with a heat embossed sentiment from the  Holiday Mini Sentiments Clear Stamp Set

My second card I decided to go with patterned paper, and die cut the wings from glitter card and vellum.  Sooo pretty.

I finished off the wings with a bit of twine and a little jingle bell and then added the Christmas Large Word Die that I cut from 3 layers white card and topped that off with a layer of glitter card.

Whimsy August Release

These months are flying by way too fast and we're in August already!  The first of the month means a new  Whimsy Stamps release.

For today's card I've mixed the old with the new, the new being the fab Array of Rainbows die set and added the adorable Bunny Balloons 2  stamp set and the sentiment from the Fly By clear stamps set.

I inked the sky with some tumbled glass distress ink for the background.  I used some Stickles Stardust to add some bling to the rainbow and clouds.  I die cut the rainbow from white card then coloured the strips in different pastel colours using copic markers.

Here's links to the Whimsy Stamps products used on today's card

Birthday Shaker Card

These sea themed stamps and dies that have been recently released by Whimsy Stamps make those difficult male cards a doddle!

For this card, I inked up a piece of smooth white card with distress inks ... mowed lawn, peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon and a touch of faded jeans.  The green was ... too green lol so I went over that section again with old paper to tone it down.

I then stamped on the Mini Bubbles Background Stamp and heat embossed it with Wow! Opaque White EP.  I made a frame from two different die sets - Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles and  Card Builder Windows die sets, and added some die cuts from the Build an Ocean die set in gold glitter card and vellum.  I finished off with a sentiment from the Birthday Word and Shadow Die Set which I die cut 3 times from white card and once from a left over piece from the background which I glued together to make it more dimensional.

Penguin's tidings of joy

Whimsy Stamps have a cute lil' penguin stamp set out this month called Penguin Lean on Me!  I don't think it was designed for Christmas but give me the opportunity to twist a stamp into a Christmas card and I'm ALL over that!  So, here's my non-Christmas, Christmas card 😁

I stamped and coloured the angel penguin with copic markers then fussy cut it out and popped it up on the background.

The fab sky paper is from the Starry Night Digital Papers set also from Whimsy Stamps. I added a couple of Christmas trees that I die cut from glitter cardstock using the Evergreen Trees Die Set.

I created a couple of snow banks also from the glitter card to ground the penguin and trees and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments Clear Stamp Set
