Giselle the fairy

Back to fairies and pink today with Giselle the Fairy from Whimsy StampsI just adore these sweet stamps.  I used a sentiment from the You’re my favorite stamp set.

The copic markers I used are:
Skin E04, 11, 00, 000, R20
Hair: R27, 25, 51, 50
Dress: E43, 41, 40, W00
Wings: R81; RV000, RV0000
Flowers: R85, 83, 81, RV000

I used a stencil and some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the background.

I used the Burlap Background stamp to add some texture to the green paper before die cutting the leaves.

The papers are Lemoncraft Yesterday and the scalloped frame die is by Tattered Lace

Flower Puffs Background Stamp ….. watercoloured this time

Continuing on from my last post using that most fantabulous Flower Puffs background stamp from Whimsy Stamps, I’ve another card to share using a different technique to colour it.  I dug out my watercolour paints, I used the Gansai Tambi set from Amazon.  Man that set is SUCH great value for money and gives fantastic results.

I heat embossed the stamp with white embossing powder after stamping onto Fabriano Hot Press watercolour paper.  Then used the wet on wet technique to colour the flowers.  So, so quick and easy to do as opposed to the hours I spent colouring this card lol.  I finished this simple but elegant card off with a silk ribbon bow and a sentiment from the Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments stamp set, some pearls and a couple die cut butterflies.

I die cut a circle from the coloured piece and popped the circle up on some craft foam before gluing back into place.  This gives the illusion of a separate piece cut and coloured.  I think you can see the general idea of the dimension in the photo below

I LOVE that one stamp can give so many different looks!

Flower Puffs!

I love this new Flower Puffs background stamp from Whimsy Stamps, LOVE it!  I’ve coloured this one up a couple of times, and today am showing a card made from the piece I coloured for the website, which I did using copic markers.  I used a LOT for this one!

Burgundy: R59, 56, 85, 83, YG03,01
Pink: R85, 83, 81, RV00, YG03,01
Purple: V17, 15, 12, 01, YG03,01
Orange: Y38, 35, YR31, 30, YG03,01

I made a frame using the dies and mounted the frame part on some black foam to give some dimension.  I really didn’t want to add anything else to this, I think the stamp, sentiment from the Everyday Scripted Sentiments stamp set and colouring does just the job, with a few black rhinestones for a bit of subtle bling.

I’ll share the other card done with this stamp (watercoloured) later on in the week.

Pennant shaker gift tags

Here’s my first *cough* Christmas make for 2018 (that C word really really hurt to say so early in the year ha!).  Each year I try and make something a little bit extra special to embellish my Christmas gifts with, and when I saw the new Shaker Maker Pennant Die set from Whimsy stamps well, I just had to use them for my gift tags.

Love, love, love how these turned out – pink, pretty and shabby and so non-traditional.

I made the little mini poinsettias by using some watercolour paper, a touch of ink and my Lily Flower die set.  Once I had inked up the petals I spritzed them with water, scrunched them up and allowed them to dry.  Once dry I gently opened them up and moulded them into shape on the back of the petals using a large ball tool on a foam pad.

I die cut some holly leaves from the Christmas Branches die set  and sentiments from the Wonderland Word die set and Peaceful Words die set with gold glitter card and added sentiments from the Holiday Mini Sentiments stamp set

I filled the shakers with tiny no-hole pearls and a mix of rose gold, ab and clear sequins.
