Naia the Mermaid

I’m back!  I forgot just how much work goes into going on holiday.  My hubby had a very special birthday last month so as a treat for him we went on a cruise around the Med.  On my life!!  We totally fell in LOVE with cruising (first timers and all that lol) and especially with Capri.  Oh to be able to afford to live there, but at 12 euros for a half a pint of lager that won’t happen unless our lottery numbers come up!

So, to stretch out the memories of our time at sea my card today is definitely along those lines.  The stamp is new in at Whimsy Stamps this month, Naia the Mermaid.  I absolutely love her and her little turtle pal so hard.

I used the following copic markers:

Skin: E04, 11, 00, 000, 0000, R20
Hair: E55, 53, 51, 50
Mermaid: BG78, 75, 72
Turtle: E43, 42, 41, 40; BG96, 83, YG61

I free-handed some plants and sand to anchor (ha!) the image and added some light with very pale copics (BG0000, 000, 70, G0000, 000)

I used the new Mermaid Scales Stencil and some Iced Spruce Distress Ink to carry the sea theme through on to the backing papers.  The little bubbles and netting are dies from my stash.

I printed out one of the Everyday Banner Sentiments and trimmed the end into a fishtail.

  3. she is beautiful! I love all of the pearls and other embellishments that you added. :)

  4. I am glad you got some time away. I had been wondering where you were. This card is wonderful in every perfect detail. I love the background behind the mermaid, with sunrays showing through the water. Just perfection. The bubbles! Oh my - how wonderful. I so wish yoi could remember where you got them. I will now be trying to figure out how to make similar. They really add to the whole design, the netting too. I am convinced your stash and Eulanda's magically refill with good stuff while you are sleeping. I know I have said this before but every single element is perfect, not too much or too little, just sheer perfection. You truly have a gift. Did you make the flowers too?

  5. So lovely and so creative love the colouring and all the layers x

  6. I know you mentioned that you duplicate the inside of your cards to match the outsides. Could you show some of them please? I'm curious how you did them.

  7. Fabulous stamp and I love these colours Love and hugs Carole x

  8. What a gorgeous way to commemorate your lovely holibobs! I'm soooo loving these new Marina Fedotova mermaids. The way you've coloured her is so beautiful and the sunray's through the water, so dreamy and lovely! Another stunning creation Bev! Hugs, Wends xoxo
