Collecting Sea Shells and some candy too

Please scroll down to the end of the post for the candy deets.  Last week’s winners were announced in the previous post.

I love this Stamps Happen Collecting Sea Shells stamps.  I have had it for years and think this is only the second time I have inked it up.  When I found this I decided to mooch through the obscene amount of papers that I have, and I mean obscene.  I frightened myself when I realised just how much money I have spent on this hobby over the years.  Anyhoo, I found a box of Anna Griffin papers that I kept for stroking (as you do!) and nope, not gonna be doing that any more.  So out they came and I didn’t even shudder at the thought of cutting in to them.  I also used one of the plain blue/grey papers from the Sea Shore pad which I ran through the die cutter in an embossing folder then sanded for texture.

Coloured with copic markers, I used:

Skin and hair: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20; E49, 59, 57, 53, 50
Dress: N5, NG75, 72, 70’'; C1, 0, 00
Sand: E33, 31, 30; W7, 5, 3

I used one of the Dutch Doobadoo Shape Art templates.  Love these, they are such a doddle to use as well.

Isn’t that organza trim just divine?  Light and frothy and perfect for a seaside themed card.

I coloured the lighthouse with copic markers (W7, 5, 3, 1) after die cutting

  25. Oh Bev, I just adore your card, especially your colours that wonderful image and that lovely die you've used. Can I ask what die that is as it's just so pretty, just perfect for a project I have in mind? I laughed and laughed about stroking your papers I know what your saying and I thought I was the only one that did that and put them away for a rainy day ( oh it's raining here in New Zealand) today!!! You said that they were Anna Griffin papers. We had a sewing shop eg Patch Work and haberdashery shop that sold Bazzill and design papers which were Anna Griffin. A few years ago she decided to go out of papers as she was moving locations and asked me if I wanted to buy them from her. There was a paper stand for all the Bazzill's a total of 60 shelves and each colour shelf had between 6 -8 sheets in it, there were about 10 sheets of Anna Griffin papers and about 8 sample books of her papers each sample book is 2 inches deep and 12 inches wide. You can't do a lot with them but there are curtain design that they are useful for and these papers are totally stunning. All in all about $1200.00 NZD worth of papers let alone the stand all for $100.00 that was my bargain for the year it was in December a couple of years ago an early Christmas present to myself. Take care and have a wonderful week and I would love to know the name of that die you used and a chance to win your candy.

  49. Hi Bev, absolutely gorgeous card. Your colouring is second to none. Love the way you did all the folds in the dress and the little girl's hair. Know what you mean about having hoards of paper and not wanting to use it because it is so special. But isn't that way we got it in the first place. Am going to have to start using my stash. Thanks so much for sharing and the opportunity to win the sweet candy. Have a wonderful day.

  50. WOW!! It just doesn't get any more gorgeous than this Bev! Amazing coloring as always, beautiful soft colors & loads of stunning embellishments!! I'm with you on the hoarding of paper! The problem is I bought way too many pads before I realized/came to know exactly what paper was the best for cards, and I don't want to pitch any, and swear I'm going to use them some day! So bizarre that right before I pulled up your post I was looking at a paper pad sale going on at a local on-line store and saw tons of 6 x 6 paper pads I want!!

  51. Love the colouring on this one. Don't we all hoard delish papers!!
