I {heart} Christmas

I had a play with something different for a very special friend who I think is the biggest fan of Christmas on this planet.  Seriously!  She has thousands of ornaments from all over the world so I wanted to make her something that I know she won’t already have.

Lots of delicious Wild Orchid Crafts products were used: Trellis Rose, Cottage Rose, Open Roses 15mm and 20mm, white cabochon angel, gold bells, white stamens.  I dabbed white paint on to the flowers using a small piece of sponge (much more controlled than using a paintbrush) then once dry slathered on Mercury Glass Stickles.

The edges were painted with gold paint before I adhered the paper on then once dry the edges were inked and glittered.

My lovely hubby bent some brass tubing into ‘S’ shapes so I could join the hearts together

I bought the hearts from my local craft shop but I would think you could cut them quite easily from chipboard or mount board.  I covered the front and back of each heart with Bo Bunny paper.

I had such fun making this and it only took a couple of hours to do.

A little bit of Tim

I finally got round to having a play with the new Tim Holtz Layered Snowflake Die and embossing folder.  It is sublime!

I cut and embossed it in kraft and also white card then slathered on the glitter, glitter flakes and stickles.  I finished it off with a SB snowflake and a bead-type button which started off life clear but I coloured it (and the clear rhinestone flatbacks with E44 copic marker)

The paper is from a Hobbycraft own make Christmas pad that I picked up a couple of weeks ago, love it.

I have an ornament on the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog that won’t be going on my blog for a few weeks, so have a gander if you’re interested.  Here’s a sneaky peek at it

Bauble ornament tutorial

The lovely Denise at Whimsy Stamps asked me if I would do a tutorial on how I make the ornaments I have been churning out lately.  She sent me some of the divine clear Christmas Greetings stamp set to play with, and this is what I came up with.  Just to say ….. I flipping love this stamp set!

And the back with place to write a greeting

The tutorial is featured on Craft Ideas complete with step by step photos.

Another quick Christmas card

Here’a another quick Christmas card I whipped up yesterday afternoon using those delectable Christmas Chalkboards 1 stamps.  This time I kept away from the black chalkboard look and instead embossed the text onto matching paper from the pad that I used.

Unfortunately I covered up most of the delish vintage patterned paper but a girl has to have her Wild Orchid Crafts flowers lol.  I used 25mm wild rose, open roses (15mm), cosmos daisies and stamens. I finished off with some pearls, pins  and vintage seam binding that I distressed with ink.

Back later on in the week with another bauble and a link to a tutorial that I did for Whimsy Stamps.
