I’m back!! With a card for WOC Challenge

Well, it’s been a long road to get to where I am now, not there yet but a least there is light at the end of the tunnel!  I am still suffering from those dreadful migraines but after intensive treatment the trigger seems to have been “switched off” so where I was getting 3-4 migraines a day I am now getting 5-6 migraines a week – a huge improvement.

Before I go any further I just want to give a huge big shouting thank you to the super patient people at Wild Orchid Crafts, Whimsy Stamps, Saturated Canary and Nitwit Collections for bearing with me whilst I get my act together.  You are awesome, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience.

So on to my card – the first one in months and months!  It’s for the Wild Orchid Challenge which is “Lovely Lavender”.  We have a colour chart to work from (compliments of Pinterest) so a nice easy one for me to ease in to.

I have used one of the adorable Whimsy Stamps (Sylvia Zet) stamps – Wyanet.  And I have used one of there fab sentiments from the Simple Sayings Notables set.

When I started colouring I was really nervous, I have not touched a marker since July so wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do it but, like riding a bike you don’t really forget do you?

Colours used:
Hair: E74, 71, 70, Walnut pencil
Clothes/Feathers/Boots: V28, 25, 22, 20 Imperial Violet pencil; E43, 42, 41, 40, French Grey 50% pencil
Rock: C3, 1, 0, 00, Warm Grey 70%

And of course the delish Wild Orchid Crafts products:

35mm Trellis Rose, small orchids, 15mm roses, cottage rose and fabric daisies.  I have also used pearl and berry spray, gold spiral stamens,  pearls and lace.

Daylight Lamp review and give away

Hello!  Long time no hear ….  I am actually still around and struggling on.  Things are still not good, in fact they are quite a bit worse since my last update but I have had this review to do for a while and it’s been worrying me so I thought I had best get cracking with it.

I was asked by The Daylight Lamp Company to review a Swan Floor LampI already have their table lamp version which is in constant use when I am crafting (even during the day) so was unsure that I would actually have a use for the floor version.  Wrong!  It is awesome and has come in so useful especially since I have been poorly and not spending time sat in my craft room.  It’s really a sturdy piece of kit, I love that it's on wheels (which aren’t flimsy and actually work as they are designed to do) so easily movable and yet is unobtrusive and tucks away neatly into a corner when not in use.  I can’t craft without my Daylight Lamp so to have one handy whilst sitting in the lounge (or my hubby stealing it to use when building his models!!) is just perfect.  As I’ve come to expect from Daylight Lamps they give perfect light which these tired old eyes of mine need at all times.

I really don’t think there is any light out there that can compare with a Daylight Lamp (and I have pretty much tried them all) for true light, I honestly CANNOT craft without mine so The Daylight Lamp Company have very generously given me this AMAZING Slimline Floor Lamp (pictured below) to give away.

Obviously due to the nature of the prize – value, weight, logistics, etc this prize is only open to UK residents.  If you would like to take part in the draw pop your name in the linky below and I will draw a winner on Friday evening.
