This week’s Saturated Canary Challenge is Dots. Nice and easy until you dig through your papers and realise the card you had planned in your head ain’t gonna work without the dotty papers to match lol. Thank goodness for the Prima Rondelle paper pad, this has got to be one of my all time favourite pads. Note to self – buymore before they are unobtainable (been there, done that lol).
There are dots on there, promise. And just to make sure I popped a couple of Prima Say it in crystals corners on, those are dots that make up the pattern, aren’t they?
I have coloured Ratatouille with Copics and pencils and the colours used are:
Hair: E29, 25, 21, 50 and dark umber pencil
Skin: E11, 00, 000, 0000, R30
Peach: R00, 000, 0000 and medium flesh Polychromo pencil
Pink: R81, RV000, 0000 and pomegranate Prisma pencil
Black: C7, 5, 3 and black pencil
Beige: E43, 41, 40 and french grey 70% pencil
Mouse: W5, 3, 1, 0
The pearls dotted around the image are done with a Viva Pearl Pen. Liquid Pearls will give a similar effect but not as pronounced and 3D as the Viva.
The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley’s Handwritten Phrases. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts – cottage rose, poppies, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, 4mm rose buds, lilies, 20mm rose, white leaves.
Have a great weekend
I won’t have my Saturated Canary card up till later or even tomorrow, I am running behind again. So here’s some candy for those that want to try their luck. It’s the Family Ties set from Whimsy Stamps.
I will draw a winner tomorrow night
What’s up with blogger today?? I have had to delete this mornings post and redo it because all there was showing on the blog is the lethal black squares grrrr!!
I’ve another sample that I made for the Lili of the Valley shop to show today, using My Big Snowball. My grandson was intrigued with this stamp, wanted to know why the wee laddie was hoiking up a great big snowball (‘cept he says grit big lol – that’s the Geordie coming out haha). So we had to go into the whole lets pretend spiel ….. then he wanted to know when it was going to snow so he could do the same. Gulp! We haven’t even had a summer yet and he wants snow!!
I have used Prima North Country papers on this card (love this pad for male cards). Went to town with the Twinklets too. I die cut the 25 and snowflakes from thinnish chipboard and slathered them in glossy accents and Twinklets. I love the texture and dimension this stuff gives, especially when I can’t go OTT with flowers haha.
The stamp was coloured with copics, bold and bright and so ME! I love how his trousers look like corduroy, our Laila is so clever!
The sentiment is from the Christmas Handwritten Phrases
And that’s it from me today
hugs
Well that long weekend was over before it began! Back to earth with a bump this morning but at least it’s a short week. Deary me I spend my life wishing it was the weekend haha.
My card today is another of the sweet animal Christmas stamps from Lili of the Valley, this one is Teddy with Penguin. I’ve also used a tag from the Christmas Sentiment Tags set and papers from the Promises paper pad.
The flowers, leaves, lace and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the berries which started life out red before they got dunked in some German Glass Glitter.
Have a fabulous week
hugs
A quick and easy card today. I did this as a sample for the LOTV shop but am so going to replicate it for a quick and easy Christmas card.
The stamp is Snow Cute from Lili of the Valley. The delish Frosty Christmas papers are also from Lili of the Valley, as is the sentiment which is from the Christmas Grungy Messages set.
The snowflakes are cut from glittered card using a Sizzix die, and I have attached the snowflake charms with one of the gorgeous moonstone effect brads from Wild Orchid Crafts. I popped a doily between the layers of paper but it’s not showing up too well in the picture.
Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday (if you’re in the UK), I am going to be making a start on a set of cards and gift boxes so nose to the grindstone for me today. I wonder if my lovely hubby is going to break down and make the lunch or take me out lol.
hugs
This week’s candy winner is

For my card today I have used one of the new Wee Stamps, this is Summer Fairy. LOVE love love her hair! I have used the new Nitwit Collections A Slice of Life digi papers. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Ticket Notes set
I have coloured the image with Copics and pencils
Hair E29, 25, 23, 50 (no pencil)
Skin E11, 00, 000, R30 (no pencil)
Dress and Shoes R81, RV000, 0000 and R85 for flowers, Pomegranate pencil
Wings B01, 00, 000, 0000, R81, RV000, 0000
The pearl dots around the fairy are done with a Viva Pearl Pen. I prefer this to Liquid Pearls, it doesn’t shrink and shrivel like Liquid Pearls does and the “pearls” are more round than pointy, much nicer to use and dries faster too. Not sure who stocks it, I get mine from my local craft shop.
The gorge dragonfly I picked up whilst I was in the States last January – sheesh that seems like a million years ago already! Flowers are natch from Wild Orchid Crafts – classic sweet rose, 30mm wild rose, sweetheart blossoms and white leaves (that I trimmed down a bit)
Last one. The bling on the wings is Glamour Dust. I use a Sakura glue pen to adhere the glitter to the image.

Afternoon lovely ladies, I read this plea on Donalda’s blog earlier today and it just broke my heart. Little Alana is only 9 years old and is battling a rare form of leukaemia. Could you spare the time to send this gorgeous little lady a card to cheer her up? If so you can contact Donalda here for the address to send the card to. There but by the grace of God ……
Thanks for taking the time to read this xxxx
I’ve been mulling over the candy issue again (too much time on my hands haha) and was going to select a name from the comments left this week as the candy winner but then got to thinking ….. I don’t want people to feel they have to leave a comment else they won’t stand a chance of winning, I have seen blogs that do this and sorry it’s not for me. You leave a comment because you want to, not because you have to. You follow my blog because you want to, not because you have to. Yes it’s lovely to read all your fab comments, no denying that but not all my followers have English as their first language and may not be comfortable leaving a comment. There is also the time factor, some do not have time to leave a comment, hey I’m fine with that and also guilty of that!
Sooooo I am leaving it as it has always been, entry via linky. I am also going to put in the option to delete your link should you inadvertently enter more than once. This option will be removed once the candy has closed so no more changes can be made once the winner has been drawn.
And this week up for grabs is a Sarah Kay stamp and a Belles ‘n Whistles stamp.
I really do lol. And that’s our challenge this week set by Pops … Hearts
I had coloured this image up a while back then decided to use the image coloured with distress inks so couldn’t let this one go to waste now could I?
I have used Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two mini deck papers, hearts on there and have also popped a Flat Back Pearl in the top corner and an embossed heart button on the taffeta bow.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Definitions Notables 4 stamped on to Kraft card. The scalloped border is a Martha Stewart punch.
I’m sorry I can’t remember which copics I used to colour the image, it was quite a while ago.
And the inside, completed to match the front.
Have a fabulous weekend
hugs

For my card today I have used one of the new Elisabeth Bell stamps – this is Honeybee and isn’t she just the sweetest little poppet!!! And Ann has come up better than trumps with this Spell It Out scrabble tiles set – I have been after something like this forever so this is one set of stamps that will be a permanent fixture on my desk! I tell ya when I saw it was being released I was thrilled to bits!!
The delish paper is Nitwit Collections Sunshine and Laughter collection. I tweaked the saturation settings though as I wanted a more grey blue rather than the bright baby blue, I am really thrilled with the gorgeous shade I managed to get printed, and even better it matched the flowers to perfection. I am not a yellow fan so desaturating got me a lovely creamy colour to match the antique linen used to colour the image. I am SO anal about colours matching lol. The blue in the paper matched the Stormy Sky ink that I used to colour the dress – I’m a happy bunny it all matches haha
And of course the stunning flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts … where else?! I used a 40mm trellis rose, 25mm cottage rose, aster daisies, 10mm roses, stamens. The little white daisies will be in stock at WOC SOON The lace is also from WOC as are the pearls. The mesh butterfly was a in a surprise gift from the lovely Jacque – thanks sweetie xx
