This weeks Just Magnolia is hosted by the lovely Suzan and she has set the challenge to add a banner. Out came the Whimsy dies and stamps for this one.
Coloured with distress inks and markers. Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye and a mix of barn door and tattered rose for the cheeks; Hair (markers only) – I dotted antique linen, walnut stain and vintage photo in places for texture; pinks – I mixed spun sugar, victorian velvet and the new raspberry limited edition to get the pink shade I wanted then went over with weathered wood to deepen the shadows.
And the inside following the layout on the front sans flowers and pearls,
The picture links are at the bottom of the post.
And now for our drama (yes this week really can’t get any better!!), thank goodness it’s nearly over ….I really don’t want another like this. The torrential rain we had here yesterday caused such terrible flood damage. Thankfully we were okay (just by about a half an inch!!) but my friend and her neighbours were not so lucky. The flood waters were over the top of our wellies in places and quite a few flooded houses too. This is one of the neighbours houses, bless they had just had new carpets fitted last week, and now all is under water. We spent most of last night baling out water, OMG I didn’t think so much rain could fall in such a short time!
Rain rain GO AWAY!!!
Have a fab weekend

ReplyDeleteHi Bev
ReplyDeleteI've just been catching up with your blog (been away), I was so sorry to hear about your devastating news of Sidney's passing. What an awful shock for you & Tony, the only good thing (if there is anything good about it) is that he didn't suffer. Then (as if your week couldn't get any worse), you have had to deal with the awful flooding, dear Bev I hope that ALL the nightmare's are now out of the way & thing's become brighter for you.
Love your card.

Oh Bev~
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your home was spared from such misfortune, but how horrible for your neighbors! We had a tropical storm this past week...some areas received 2 feet of water!Maybe we should be building wood arks instead of making cards...NAH!!!
This card is precious! I love this image, and I love the color of her hair! It's hard to imagine so many colors in one little area. I just bought some of the distress markers, and am quite excited to see how to use them. Do you use them differently than other water color markers?
Praying for you!
He IS Able!

I'm afraid I thought flooding was a craft term I was unfamiliar with until I saw the pics...!!! How devastating, it looks like you were really lucky and after the week you're having you deserve a bit of luck. Let's hope that's the worst of the weather over & done with now... You have made, of course, a beautiful card. I do so enjoy visiting your blog even though I rarely comment xxx
