Just Magnolia challenge

I believe blogger is playing up AGAIN and some of you can’t see the pictures as they are showing a black square with a grey symbol in the centre.  If that’s the case clicking on the pictures should bring them up for you.

I managed to get a card done for this week’s Just Magnolia challenge.  My back is giving me grief again so I can only sit for short periods of time so this one took me a week to make.  I coloured it with distress inks and markers on Fabriano Satinata hot pressed 300gsm watercolour paper.  I tried the paper Tim Holtz recommends and was NOT impressed,  Very expensive and does not come up to scratch I’m afraid.  I’m really disappointed, I really don’t like wasting money and that was a waste!  Anyhoo, enough moaning girl, get a grip lol.

The challenge this week is Anything Goes with the option to add a doily (I set the challenge this week and we all know I like SIMPLE lol).

I am trying out a new link thingy so all the links will now be at the bottom of the post (if it works).

Colours used on the image are

Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick for cheeks
Hair: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Black Soot
Greys: Weathered Wood, Black Soot
Pinks: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet
Grass: Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw, Black Soot – applied in this order.
Shadow around Tilda: Tumbled Glass

The pretty papers are from Nitwits.  My doily is a die cut – Tim Holtz distressed doily.

I stamped out the sentiment with those cheap 99p alphabet stamp sets then chopped them up and stuck them on the tag higgeldy piggeldy.  I fixed on a ladybird charm with a bit of pink twine.  The lace is from my stash and got a dousing with white gesso as did the flowers and wee butterflies.  I did not apply the gesso to the papers this time as they are digi and my printer ink does not like paint, it bleeds terribly.

And that’s all from me, back tomorrow with some Wild Orchid Crafts surprise candy
