12 Days of Christmas Event

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which means the Lili of the Valley 12 days of Christmas event starts tomorrow!!  So please do check out the Ideas to Inspire Blog every day as there will be a give away each day for the next 12 days.

Andrew’s Stocking

I am loving these Belles n Whistles stamps so much I have another card using one of them again.  This is Andrew’s Stocking, soooooo cute!

The delish paper is Teresa Collins Christmas Home, which I have teamed with Kraft card  both from Dies to Die For, and some Jute Ribbon topped off with red satin ribbon.

Little Andrew has been coloured with the usual … Copics and pencins:
Hair: E25, 23, 50 and dark umber pencil
Skin: E11, 00, 000; R20, 30
Sleep suit: BG11, 10, 000, 70; R29, 24, 22 and muted turquoise pencil
Bear: E35, 31, 30; R29 and light umber
Stocking: R29, 24, 22; E42, E40 and tuscan red/french grey 70% pencils

I have used the Tim Holtz clock die behind the image panel, with a Whimsy Stamps sentiment and a few bells from my stash to finish the card off.  As always the inside has been decorated following through the design from the front of the card. AND …. not a flower in sight!  Good grief girl, that’s a rarity!  I had to sit on my hands to stop myself from fiddling and adding flowers but for once managed to restrain myself Sarcastic smile

Little Light

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments and feedback on the candle and box I posted yesterday, you are too kind Red heart  I will work on a video for the candle and box, but it won’t be for several weeks as I have a fair bit of work to do on the run up to Christmas not only with Christmas stuff but also preparing for the CHA.  So it may not even be till after the holidays but I will get round to it as soon as I can.
Now on to today’s card featuring Little Light from Belles ‘n Whistles that I got from Dies to Die For.  She is just adorable!  Loving the folds in her nightdress, lots of scope for shading Smile  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley’s Grunge Christmas Postmarks stamp set
I used the DELISH Tapestry of Christmas kit from Nitwit Collections, it’s just right up my street crammed full of rich colours and patterns, love it!
Little Light has been coloured with Copics and pencils:
Hair:  E29, E25, E50 and dark umber
Skin:  E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20, R30
Reds:  R39, R37, R35, R32 and tuscan red pencil
Greens:  YG67, YG63, YG61 and olive green pencil
Gold:  YR24, YR21, Y11
Shadow: W5, W3, W1
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts – I used a trellis rose, carnation, cherry blossoms, 15mm roses and the colours I used are olive green and deep red flowers.  The seam binding is also from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The little AB crystal snowflake and reindeer charm are from BeadCrafty. I have dangled the reindeer charm from the snowflake.
I used one of the elements from the kit on the inside of the card, that stocking is just so cute!
Last one, sorry for all the pictures!  But this one shows off how the snowflake changes colour in different light.
That’s it from me today, got a visit with the dentist this morning ugh!  Me no likey pain lol.  What a wimp!!

Class project and some videos

I had a lovely day yesterday meeting up with old friends, and we got to craft too.  I took a little class and this is what we did.

I had not decorated a candle in yonks so when the girls asked if I would do a class with them I was thrilled to get to play again Smile

I coloured Angelic Candle from Lili of the Valley with copics stamped on to tissue paper.  After I had heated the image into the candle I did my usual glitter treatment – Diamond Stickles on the wings and stars (loving this colour at the mo).  The 15mm roses from Wild Orchid Crafts also got the stickles treatment

The paper that I used on the box (made from a sheet of A3 card and A4 card) is from Craft Creations.  Had it for a few years now, it was one of those that were for stroking only lol.  But I loved the rich, vintagey look to the paper so it got cut into.  The die cut border is from a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis set.  The green satin ribbon, hybrid tea rose, cherry blossoms, aster daisies, holly leaves and berries are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps

I also have a couple of new videos up on my Video Tutorials page if you want to take a peek

Have a brilliant week, I am hoping to get the last of my Christmas shopping done and I may even get the Christmas tree up on the weekend Surprised smile

Simon Says Stamp candy winner

This week’s candy winner so generously sponsored by Simon Says Stamp is

24. Maryann

Congratulations Maryann, please email me to claim your prize.  Please put Pregnant Tilda in the subject line

All in a row and LOTV sale news!!

I’m scheduling this post because I am out teaching a class today so had to be up with the larks getting myself sorted.   My card today was a request from a lovely lady in Canada, it’s similar to another card I made using All in a row from Lili of the Valley, I just changed up the papers and embellies (she wanted the same colour scheme).

Isn’t that pearl trim just gorgeous??  It’s new in at Wild Orchid Crafts, love it!  I adhered it to the paper using Collall All Purpose glue and it attached beautifully, no probs at all and it dries a lot faster than Glossy Accents which is a bonus cuz I am always in a mad rush lol.  The satin ribbon and flowers (15mm roses, 25mm hybrid tea rose, cherry blossoms, gypsophila and hybrid tea rose )

The paper is Pink Paislee from last year (or was it the year before?)  The lace borders are die cut with my new Tim Holtz border die and I think the sentiment is from a Personal Impressions stamp set.

And now for the Lili of the Valley news!!!

Check out Lili of the Valley’s updated website, which now finally has a currency converter for all our overseas customers!! It’s really easy to use so you never have to wonder anymore how much you are spending!

Cake Glorious Cake!

Sorry I don’t have a card for this week’s Just Magnolia challenge, I had some deadlines to meet but with having a migraine everything went on hold this past couple of days.  So instead I have a DT sample card I made for the Lili of the Valley stall at the NEC using the sweet image Cake Glorious Cake from the latest release.

The gorgeous flowers and silk ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  OMW I really love this ribbon!  The flowers I have used are 25mm hybrid tea rose, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, carnation, tulips and 6mm rose buds.  I also used some cheesecloth behind the image, new in stock at Wild Orchid Crafts.

The papers are MME Lost and Found Blush from Dies to Die For, the colours are gorgeous in this pad. The swirl die is a Doo Hickey, also from Dies to Die For.

Isn’t she just the cutest lol.

Have a fab weekend

A super quick post from me today (well last night because I am scheduling this early then off to bed with a migraine).  It’s Lili of the Valley challenge day and this week’s challenge is Anything Goes and there are two fab prizes up for grabs, a voucher from Lili of the Valley and a bunch of floral deliciousness from Wild Orchid Crafts!!

My card is the last magazine card that I have ready and waiting in the wings for just such a night when I can’t see straight to craft lol.  It’s the Forever Friends paper pack that I have used again.  The image is Oh Christmas Tree and was coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  The gingham ribbon, pearls  and brads are from Wild orchid Crafts, the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Sarah Kay for a change and a FAB give-away

I was in an experimental mood last night and decided to attempt to colour a full sized stamp with Copics and a touch of Prismacolor pencils and hoo boy, I am in love!  It is sooooo much easier colouring on the Kraft card instead of the white (hides any mistakes lol). I did try with the pencils only but I could not get the depth of colour that I wanted without my beloved copics.

And I got me some new papers (ssssh don’t tell Tony, he will flip!!) but how could anyone resist this K & Co Glad Tidings pad?? Not me for sure.  OMW I broke out in hives when I cut into these babies!  And I just remembered I used one of my forgotten Crealies dies for the border.  The stamp, papers and die are all from Dies to Die For.

Copics and pencils used are
Skin: E13, E11, E00, R20
Reds: R39, R37, R35, R32, tuscan red and black pencil
Greens: YG99, YG67, YG63, YG61, olive green and black pencil
Gold: YR24, YR21, Y11
Browns: E29, E25, E50 and dark umber pencil
Fur and ground white, cool grey 70% and lilac pencils

Check out that dinky little candy cane!!  I got it from BeadCrafty along with the sweetest little reindeer in the next picture.  So cute! I received my order the day after  I placed it (free P&P too!) – I was well impressed Smile

How CUTE is that reindeer lol.
I’ve finished off the inside to compliment the front, as always.  The fur and snow looks gold in this picture, it’s the lights reflecting off the diamond stickles, it is white – honest.

I’ve popped this in my Etsy shop along with another card.

And if you’re still with me you will want to know what I’m giving away lol.  It’s a £25 voucher to spend on the BeadCrafty website!!  All you need to do is leave a comment and I will draw a winner on Friday night (only comments up to 7pm UK time on the 25th will be included in the draw please), and if you could mention this on your blog if you have one that would be great, but not necessary to be in the draw.

Have a fabulous day

Festive Fairy

I could not believe that this little sweetie, Festive Fairy from Lili of the Valley, had not seen ink!  And I think she comes up there with Tiptoe Fairy which has to be one of my LOTV favourites (Igloo for Two is still my all time fave – I have a thing for penguins lol).
I have used Magnolia papers from this year and last for todays card.  I also had this Marianne Design tree that had been glittered up for ages that I never got round to using that just seemed to fit with the card, I just added some pearls for a bit more detail.
And I finished off the card with some guipure lace, satin ribbon, 25mm hybrid tea rose, 15mm roses and Crown Pins.  I have decorated the inside to compliment the front, I don’t feel a card is finished till I have done that lol.  The sentiment is an OLD Clever Cuts sentiment that I have had since I first started stamping.  I don’t think it is still available though.
I have popped this card in my Etsy shop along with a few others.

Crystal Flake for Wild Orchid Crafts

I love these images from Sugar Nellie, (and also from Nellie Snellen and Pergamano who I think are all done by the same artist). Today is Wild Orchid Challenge day and this time round the challenge is “A Child’s Christmas”.
So of course out came this super cute Crystal Flake from Sugar Nellie, too stinkin’ cute for words!  I used a Tim Holtz clock die behind the image which a dabbed with white paint and frosted lace stickles to give a wintery feel to the card.  The sentiments on the card are from Lili of the ValleyGrunge Christmas Postmarks, and the sentiment on the basket is from Crafty Sentiments.
And I was having such fun with these colours and papers (Magnolia Vintage Hellebores) that I made a little basket to pop some chocolate coins in.  The basket was really quick and easy to make (takes no more than 10 minutes thanks to a couple of sets of hearts dies).
The flowers, lace and seam binding are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The berries stared off life red, so I gave them a dunking in glossy accents then into this scrummy purple German Glass Glitter.  What a transformation!  Love it!! The dinky little purple pine cone was made from my newest acquisition – Tim Holtz Tattered Pink Cone die.  The other flowers used are classic sweet rose, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms and hip rose buds.  The flowers all got a splash of white paint to soften the colours a bit.
The image was coloured with Copics and pencils.  I added Stardust Stickles to the fur trim on her clothes and also on her wings and the snowflakes.
I think this has to be my most favourite colour combos of them all – whoever would have thought I would love purple lol.
Hope you all have a brilliant week.
