A sneak peek and a Quick Flick

Yak, yak, yak … Monday already.  I did not get 1/10th of what I had planned on getting done this weekend but got another of my commissions done and dusted woohoo.  One more to go, but I have the NEC this week/weekend so need to get so much other stuff done before I head off down there on Thursday.  I will be at the Lili of the Valley stand Friday and Saturday.

So today I have the first of my sneak peeks for the new release that are going on sale at the NEC next Thursday, but they won’t be on sale on the website until the following Thursday 10th November so if you are going to the NEC head to the LOTV stand first as these stamps are going to whizz I’m sure.  The stamp I have used is called Daydream, she is one of the new Molly Harrison stamps and I am totally blown away by this collection.  I love love love how she has drawn the hair, I could sit all day just colouring up the hair lol.

And of course I went with PINK, now why wouldn’t I lol.  The delish papers are Echo Park Victoria Garden, totally gorgeous.  And then we have the utterly sublime new fabric flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts!!  I also used organza ribbon and lace as well as 10mm roses and 20mm rose all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The dies are all by Marianne Design, I used Marianne Design Creatables - Butterflies – LR0158, Marianne Design Creatables - Corners – LR0143, Marianne Design Flora 2 LR0106

I also have a Quick Flicks video up on the Ideas to Inspire blog, and it’s also on my Video Tutorials Page

Have a great week

Congratulations Leah Ann, please email me to claim your prize, and please put Tilda on Rope Ladder in the subject line.

Silver Fairy and a rant

OMW what’s with people and shopping – it’s still 2 months to Christmas and people are already grumpy and crowding the shops!  I had to go through to Ikea yesterday afternoon and wish I hadn’t bothered.  People are so RUDE, and “lady” (I use this term VERY loosely!) with big time shopping trolley rage in Ikea, if you read this you should be ashamed.   There was a young mum with a buggy trying to get through self closing doors and before I could get there to hold the door open to help her this miserable woman barged through with her trolley, almost knocked the young mum and her buggy over and never even looked back to see if she was okay!  I hope her flipping trolley wheels fell off miles from anywhere and she had to go fetch another, then I hope when she got back to her car all 4 tyres were flat grrrrr!!!! Now I know why I absolutely loathe shopping in any form, and if I can’t order it on line from now on I am going to do without! Angry smile

Rant over aaaaah that feels better lol, so now on to today’s card which is another of those uber yummilicious Wee Stamps from Whimsy Stamps that I did for their magazine issue 4.  Now isn’t she just stunning!  The detail, right down to those little bells is just amazing.  She is called Silver Fairy and you can grab her from Dies to Die For

The paper is Memory Box Gossamer, not sure if it is still available anywhere though as I got mine last year.  I threaded some sparkly tulle through a ribbon slider buckle from Wild Orchid Crafts.  And natch all the flowers are from WOC too: 25mm wild roses, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms, 20mm rose.  The leaves have been punched with a Martha Stewart Frond Branch punch.

The sentiment is from a Whimsy Stamps set.  I added lashings of Glamour Dust to her wings and it’s really picked up the sparkle in the tulle.  I popped a Tim Holtz clock die cut behind the image.

Enjoy your Sunday

Winter Bird House

I just love this Winter Bird House stamp, the detail is amazing yet the image is so easy to colour.  I have gone with a different, non-traditional colour scheme for my card and used the delish First Edition Christmas Joy paper pad.

I have also used one of the gorgeous Christmas sentiments, this one is from the Happy Holidays sentiments.

Apologies for the dreadful pic, I had to use my iPhone to photograph it as it was part of a set for a magazine commission and I had forgotten to photograph it before heading off to the post office to mail it so was sat in the car photographing them (people were giving me totally wierd looks lol, I wonder why!!)

Whimsy Magazine Project–Wee Stamp

Well, yesterday was a long day filled with lots of problems to keep me awake and on my toes.  But the best news of all was our Maddi had her spay surgery yesterday and it went really well.  The infection was totally clear so it was just a routine spay with not even the need for antbiotics – yayyy for Maddi.  I am so glad that is behind us now, and hopefully she can get back to her happy, bouncy self.

I have nearly finished number 2 of 3 magazine commissions so still nothing new from me that you will not have seen elsewhere in a magazine but today’s card is extra special for me.  I was so so honoured to be asked to do a spread for the 4th issue of Whimsy Inspirations Magazine using some of my most favourite of stamps.  Now how can a girl say no firstly to the lovely Denise and secondly to working with Wee Stamps?  Not me, I nearly bit her hand off in my haste to say yes lol.  So here’s the first of 4 cards I did for my lil feature.  If you haven’t checked it out yet what are you waiting for?  It’s a free download crammed full of inspiration, tutorials and hours of reading.

Talk about working with some of my favourite products!!  Go Kreate Dies, Whimsy Wee Stamps, Whimsy sentiment stamps by the amazing Ann Vento, delish new Bildmalarna Papers from Dies to Die for, gorgeous flowers and lace (that got the acrylic paint treatment) from Wild Orchid Crafts, loads of glitter, my beloved copics and Prismacolors and I was in my element Smile

I am really sorry but this card was made so long ago I have no idea where I put the note with the colours on, but I think the adorable image makes up for the missing colours Winking smile

Delish lace and flowers after the acrylic paint treatment and a charm from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I also applied paint to the edges of the papers.

I love Whimsy sentiments and matching dies, there is such a huge selection that there is a sentiment for everything.  This has to be my favourite sentiment from the latest release.

Stamps: Winter Fairy, Holiday Postage Stamps
Papers: Bildmalarna Christmas Tree Blue
Dies: Go Kreate XXL Frames set 6, Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs (snowflake), Whimsy Postage Stamp Die
Embellishments: All Wild Orchid Craftslace, 25mm wild roses, 15mm roses, liliesmetal embellishments charm.  The pearl hearts are from Hobbycraft as is the white acrylic paint.  The pearly dots around the image are just dabs of Liquid Pearls.

Phew and after that epic I am off to shower then hit the sack (yep I’m organised enough to schedule this one lol)

Hope you all have a fantabulous weekend

LOTV challenge

Morning all (is it morning already???)  This is going to be a quick post from me as I had planned on getting this post scheduled last night then settling in for a night of magazine work, well best laid plans and all that, I ended up dashing out on a mercy mission for a friend in the middle of getting my tea and didn’t get back in till gone 2 this morning.  So I am sat here rather bleary eyed over a cup of coffee (and I hate the stuff!!) to wake me up so I can get off to work.  I will need matchsticks today I think and it’s going to be a looooong day.

So my card today is for this week’s Lili of the Valley challenge is a wedding card I was commissioned to do months back, following one of my sketches.  The image had to be none other than I Do from Lili of the Valley

The paper is digital but right now my brain is so befuddled I have no idea where it is from, if I can remember I will update this post (although Raspberry Road rings a bell).  The sentiment is one I whipped up in Photoshop, feel free to save it if you have a use for it.  Just click on it to bring it up to full size before saving to your computer.

Bev Rochester Always and Forever

The gorgeous 30mm wild rose, Tea Rosebuds, cherry blossoms, sweetheart blossoms and seam binding are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The Fretwork Heart behind the image is a Go Kreate die as is the tag.  The Heart Chain border die is from Dies to Die For.

The bride to be wanted a tag on the inside so she could write a message to her future husband.  She chose the colours and also asked for me to make the card similar to one I had done before using a different image.  I hope she liked it Smile

I am sorry if this post don’t make sense, I tried my best lol.  Heaven help anyone that needs me to use my brain at work today – nay chance rofl.

And before I sign off, I see there is a sneak peek on Lili of the Valley’s website of the new stamps that are going to be released on 10th November on the website but if you are going to the SECC or NEC you will be able to get hold of yours sooner!!

Fifi goes Walkies

I have been desperate to use another of my new Sugar Nellie stamps, as well as the gorgeous Chrysanthemums that are new in stock at Wild Orchid Crafts so actually set aside a few hours last night to have a bit of me time, and whilst I was playing I found the other new die from Crafty Sentiments, this one is called Fancy Hearts border die .  Thoroughly enjoyed myself too Smile

Apologies in advance for the diabolical photo’s, I HATE the dark nights and having to rely on that naff light tent.  Roll on summer lol.

I spritzed the Chrysanthemums with a very diluted glimmer mist to give a soft colour to the flowers to match the gorgeous new Prima papers that arrived last week from Dies to Die For.  Totally Delish!  The pads are Prima Pixie Glen and then I also used a sheet from the Prima Pixie Glen mulberry paper stack.
The Raschel lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts and I gave it a coat of white acrylic paint to make it look more substantial so it would not disappear into the paper.   LOVE how it turned out.  A tip though if you are going to try it, once you have coated both sides of the lace set aside to dry for about 10 minutes then blot it with a piece of paper towel to remove the excess, it really does make a difference.  The gorgeous bling brad is from Shopbron

The little tag is from Go Kreate and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley

I used Copics to colour the image
Skin E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E57, E53, E50
Blues: BG000, BG0000. BG70
Pink: R81, R000, R0000
Browns: E43, E41, E40
Dog: C3, C1, C0

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front as always.

Penny Black stamp winner

I was just about to shut down the computer and head off for a shower when I remembered I had not drawn a winner for the Penny Black stamp used on today’s card.  Just as well my head is bolted on to my shoulders lol.

So, the winner is Misteejay

Congratulations Toni, please email me your address so I can post the stamp off to you.

A girlie Christmas

I’ve a girlie Christmas card today, one of the very few magazine cards I have left to publish.  This is definitely a card that my daughter-in-law would like, trendy and pink with lots of sparkle Smile

And the very trusty Nitwit Collections Joyful Hearts came to my rescue again, teamed with a Tim Holtz die cut border and some Martha Stewart punches.  The sentiment is die cut from a Quickutz set.

I have two of these stamps (both used once) so I am giving one of them away.  If you would like to try for it leave a comment below and I will draw a winner later tonight.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

OMW I really did not think I was going to get a card done for this week’s Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge but luckily had had this adorable image all coloured up so just had to pull some papers out to match (I always work the other way and make my card up first then colour the image to match the papers but this time as luck would have it everything worked first try).  So this week our challenge is Santa Claus is coming to town, another perfect excuse to get another Christmas card done and checked off your lists!

I got a couple of new border dies in the mail on Saturday from Crafty Sentiments and of course I had to use it right away, isn’t it just gorgeous (so is the price!)  They are officially released for sale on 30th October but are on Pre-Order now for those that can’t wait, like me Smile

The image was coloured with copics, and I even had the colours written on a post it note attached to the back, woooo get me …. organised or what lol

Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Beard: C1, C0
Reds: E19, R29, R24, R22 and Tuscan Red pencil

Browns: E57, E55, E53, E40 and Dark Umber pencil

Shading: BG000, E40, BG0000

I even managed to decorate the inside following the layout on the front of the card, and now that I have actually got space for my sewing machine even that got put to use Smile

The lace started off life white, but I spritzed it with a mixture of Tea Dye and Walnut Stain to give it a vintagey look to match the papers.

Dies: Fancy Hearts Border DieCrafty Sentiments, Frilly Square 6Go Kreate

Simon Says Stamp Candy Winner

This week’s Magnolia candy winner so kindly sponsored by Simon Says Stamp is

Fabiana Strehlow

Congratulations Fabiana, please email me with your address to claim your prize.  Please put Tilda with Flowing Hair in the subject line of the email

A step card

Well, I am running out of cards to post … fast!  Only got a couple left that are from magazine commissions then I will have to get my skates on.  I have 3 commissions I am working on at the mo (one to go in the mail tomorrow eeek!) one to be posted by the 3rd and one by the 10th and in-between that I have the NEC.  I love living life in the fast lane lol.

So, because today’s card is a magazine card it’s a different one to my usual cutey style but one I really liked once I had finished it.  The stamp is buried in a box somewhere so I have no idea who it is made by but it was from The Glitter Pot.  The gorgeous papers are from Nitwit Collections, what would I do without them??

I made a quick and easy step card as I thought the style worked well with the long shape of the stamp.  The little poinsettias are from a Marianne Design Poinsettia LR0121 die set from Dies to Die For.

Right it’s back to the grindstone for me for the rest of the day (I wonder if the house will figure out it needs to do it’s own housework cuz else it’s not going to get done this week rofl).
