World Cardmaking Day

Saturday 1st October is World Cardmaking Day so to celebrate Lili of the Valley are having  fun give-away with a twist on their Ideas to Inspire blog with lots of prizes, so do pop across and take a peek.

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and a wee sneak peek of my nearly finished Craft Room

Whoopie Doo, it’s Friday and tonight I go to order the last of the cupboards for my new craft room.  The floor is down, the blinds are up and I love it, OMG I have the best hubster lol.  I’ve popped a couple of pics at the end of the post, they don’t show the room off very well but I was more concerned about showing off me new floor lol.  Small things hey …..

So today is Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge day and our Jane is the hostess with a brilliant sketch that I will use again and again, and I even managed to get a card done (didn’t think I would this week has been so manic with working on upcoming releases and magazine stuff) so it was nice to take a few hours out on Wednesday to get this done.  The stamp is an oldie, from 2009 but still one of my favourites although I do think this year’s Christmas stamps from Magnolia is another fab one from the sneak peeks I have seen in blogland so far.  Hmmm I feel a wee spend coming on even though their stamps are so expensive.  Oh well it needs to be done lol.

I’ve used lots of my fave goodies on today’s card, isn't that sentiment stamp fab, it’s another I got from Crafty Sentiments and the set is called Christmas Sparkles, love it!  The paper is from the Authentique Wonder paper pad, totally delish!  And of course the sweetheart blossoms, cherry blossoms. carnations, 20mm rose, trellis rose, seam binding, guipure lace and pearls are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The die cut leaves are from Marianne Design, I love this die (as if you hadn’t noticed!)  Loads of gold Stickles were added to the flowers, her dress and the circle she is sat on.

Tilda was coloured with Copics and pencils:

Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E29, E25, E50
Dress: E43, E42, E41, E40 and warm grey 70% pencil
Reds: R29, R24, R22 and Tuscan red pencil
Greens: YG99, YG93, E81 and olive green pencil

This card is for sale in my Etsy shop

And here’s a wee couple of sneak peeks of my craft room.  It don’t look very big in the pics but is around 20 foot long so a decent size and lots of room for me to hide all my stash in once it’s complete.  The curtains will be going up later today and the skirting and cupboards/furniture on the weekend …. it’s beginning to look like home :D  I look at these and can’t believe just how hard my hubby has worked to get it from a bare brick garage and tiled utility to this.  The blinds are hiding the french doors that replaced the garage door.  The walls are olive green and do not look as yellow and dull as they do in these pictures.

Have a great weekend

Oh my goodness!

Have you seen the newest kit at Nitwits??  Grin and Bear it – well I am grinning from ear to ear and will happily bear such amazing gorgeousness!  I am sat here drooling and the printer is going to be working overtime tonight lol.

Button it!

No not you lol, that’s this week’s Lili of the Valley Challenge – to use buttons on your card.  I think Aeroplane is one of my fave boys stamps from Lili of the Valley, that aeroplane is nearly as big as him bless.

I made this card for Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine on behalf of Lili of the Valley a while back so I can’t remember which Promarkers and Flexmarkers I used.    The fab papers are from the Away we go kit from Nitwit Collections.  It’s just perfect for little lads cards and the colours are so yummy.  The raffia ribbon and button is from Wild Orchid Crafts

I made the circular frame by die cutting two different sized circle dies at once, quite like the effect it has given.  The sentiment is computer generated.

That’s it from me today, short and sweet as I have a mountain of work to get done over the next week (yep Bev has left loads till the last minute again!!)

A video for Simon Says Stamp

The very lovely Steph of Simon Says Stamp approached me a while back to join in with their Stamptember celebrations by shooting a tutorial video on how I make a Criss Cross card for them.   Here’s the card that I did for the video.

I coloured Tilda with Amaryllis with Copics and a light touch of warm grey Prismacolor pencil.  How cute are those freckles on her little nose lol.

And a peek at the insert.

If you want to take a look at the video you can see it here.  Do pop across to the blog as they are having special offers and promotions for the entire month of September, you may just grab a bargain (or two!)

Moonlight Wishes

Here’s the card I eventually got finished using the image from this week’s Quick Flicks video.  I’ve used quite a few new goodies on here which I will list below for you.  Sorry but the post is a tad picture heavy, well I had to show you all me new goodies :0)

First up is Moonlight Wishes which is from the 2nd Lili of the Valley Christmas release, why did I wait so long to colour her??  I’m in love!  She’s been coloured with Copics

Skin E11, E00, E000, R20; Hair E25, E50; Hat R85, R83, R81, RV00; Dress BV02, BV01, BV00, BV000; Moon E50, YR30; Leaves YG67, YG61, G20

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, I have used mostly new ones -

30mm wild rose, 25mm wild roses, hip rosebuds, sweetheart blossoms in new delish colours and new crochet flowers.  I applied Glossy Accents to all the mulberry flowers then gave them a good dunking in Twinklets (which you can get from Paula at Crafts U Love).  Also from WOC is the seam binding that I distressed a wee bit and also the gorgeous new lace oh and the snowflake charm and Divine Twine.  The leaves are a Marianne Designs mistletoe die.

Also new is the fab sentiment stamp, frame stamp and matching Vintage Label die from Crafty Sentiments.  I stamped the frame on to the die cut label in lilac ink using a stamp positioner to get the frame exactly on the die,  then again using the stamp positioner I stamped in one of the sentiments from the Thank You Sentiments set.  Love that by using a soft pastel colour ink it makes the die cut look like it has been embossed.  Of course it was then slathered in Stickles for a bit of bling :)

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.  The papers are also new, I picked them up on Sunday, they are the new Me to You paper stack.  So pretty and not a speck of red in sight lol.

And after all those new goodies I need to go lie down in a darkened room lol.

Wild Orchid Challenge

I blinked and lost the weekend lol.  I had such great plans to get so much done and did it?  Did I heck as like.  Oh well, I should know by now NOT to make plans for my free time!!

This week’s Wild Orchid Challenge is Make it Sparkle with Stars.  Please do take a peek at the DT’s fab creations, and be prepared to be dazzled by all the sparkly bling!!  For my card today the stars are on those little cuties’ dresses.  The stamp – All in a row – is from Lili of the Valley’s newest release, aren’t they just too stinkin’ cute!!

The paper is last year’s Memory Box Mistletoe, still one of my faves!!  I think the sentiment is from a set of Jayne Nestorenko stamps from last Christmas.  The satin ribbon, new lace, trellis rose, 20mm roses, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, cherry blossoms and tulips have all been given the German Glass Glitter treatment and all the products can be found at Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am loving this olive green colour combo right now, and so easy to achieve with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Colours used are:
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair:  E31, E51, E50
Reds: R29, R24, R22, R20
Greens: YG97, YG95, YG93, E81
Golds: YR24, UR21, Y11

This week’s Quick Flick video will be on the Ideas to Inspire blog this afternoon if you want to pop across to take a peek.

Oh and before I forget (again!!) I was sent a 3M Pink Advanced Tape Glider to review.  Now I have an ATG gun that I didn’t really get along with as it was such a faff to change the tapes and I don’t do faff.  So, with not a little trepidation, I opened the box and read the instructions and managed to get the tape in and working in under 30 seconds.  Believe me that’s F1 speed for me, I don’t do technical and have no patience, so I was well impressed.

The tape is nice and narrow and is strong enough to hold ribbon and tape in place at the back of the card.  Up till now I have been using Scor Tape or red line tape but will be using the Tape Glider from now on.

Soooo, 5 stars thumbs up from me, I love it – especially as it’s PINK!!!

Simon Says Stamp Candy Winner

This week’s Magnolia candy kindly sponsored by Simon Says Stamp is

Congratulations Chrissy, please email me your address to claim your prize.  Please put Tilda with armful of tulips in the subject line.

Emma Walkies

A non-Christmas card from me again today, and another I made a while back.  I spent yesterday fighting with Ikea as stuff we had paid for and went to collect was “over-sold”.  Me no happy!!  So now we are stuck with cupboards with no doors till they arrive back in stock and I need to keep on chasing to find out when they are going to arrive.  Sooo needless to say my gander was well and truly up and I was in no mood for crafting last night!  Instead I cabbaged out in front of the telly and watched X-Factor.  Gosh I can’t remember when last I sat downstairs in the lounge all evening and didn’t even look at my emails let alone touch a stamp!   I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be doing that a lot more I think.  Tony kept on looking at me and in the end said “have you found a twin sister or is that a poster of you sat there lol.  The cheek!

So, on to my card which features Emma Walkies and Set 9 Mixed Circular Sentiments from Lili of the Valley.  The papers are Echo Park Springtime, the dragonfly is a Doo Hickey die an the pearls and pearl brads are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The gorge die cut border is a MFT Die-Namics border die from Dies to Die For.

And now I am going to hide in my craft room for the rest of the day and get a magazine commission finished (something I had planned to do yesterday oops!)

Have a fabby Sunday

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge.

We have an Autumn and/or back to school theme for our challenge on Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge.  Autumnal colours are not something I use so I struggled with this one a bit.  You would not believe the mess in this craft room – I had piles of papers and paper pads everywhere trying to find something that would work lol – looked like a whirling dervish had struck (again lol).  Anyway, thank goodness for My Minds Eye paper pads, especially all the new ones that I just had to get from Dies to Die For a couple of weeks ago.  Totally yummy.  The paper pad I used for today’s card is Lost and Found Rosy, love it!

I used a Marianne Design Creatables Circles die instead of nesties for a change, love how it worked so well with little Tilda (wot a gorgeous friend sent me, thanks sweets mwah xxx).   The leaves in the flower arrangement are also a Marianne Designs die, Flower and Leaves.  The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts – I used hydrangeas15mm roses, 6mm rose buds, Curly Wild Rose.  The pins are also from WOC.  The gold pearls I have had for years, can’t even remember where I got them from, sorry.

I used Copics and prismacolor pencils to colour Tilda
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E25, E23, E50
Lace and shoes: E42, E41, E40
Jump suit: YR18, YR02, YR00, YR0000 and a light red pencil

Have a fabulous weekend, I am going to be working on some magazine commissions (and maybe interfering downstairs as all the cupboards are going in this weekend whoop whoop whoop!!!!)

I have used a Tim Holtz on the edge Snow Flurries die for the border, and a new Memory Box Bianca Snowflake die (totally gorge then I went and hid it behind some MS snowflake dies derrrrr!!!)  The brads and seam binding is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Joy charm is from The Hobby House, one of the oodles of packs I picked up at Harrogate (I blame Kath for egging me on lol!!)

Sumpins Wrong and some candy

I had to make a quick baby card a while back for the lovely Jo at Papercuts who had the sweetest little baby boy Charlie.  He’s a right little cuddle bun and such a good baby too and with all the time he is spending in the craft shop I think we may have a Crafting King in the making lol.

I love this Mo Manning for Stampavie stamp – Sumpins Wrong and think it’s perfect for a baby boy card.

The papers are Nitwit Collections Lifes Little Lemons Collection which works so well with baby cards.  The heart is a Marianne Design Creatables die, and the border is Memory Box Pearl Lace die.  The blooms and sweetheart blossoms as well as the brads, pearls and 25mm organza ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I am entering this card in Mo’s DP2 Challenge – Celebrate
And now for my candy, I know I promised some dies for today’s candy, but the lovely Tracy from Dies to Die For has a special birthday today and has given me some candy to give away to celebrate :)

Happy for you

This is becoming a habit, sorry but it’s another magazine card today.  I’m working on several projects that I can’t show just yet so am I ever glad that I have lots of cards done months ago for a couple of cardmaking magazines.  Apologies for the blech picture, I just could not get the lighting right when I photographed the cards and as per I was in a rush to get them in the mail.

The image is Lili of the Valley’s Emma Presents, the tags and sentiments are also from Lili of the Valley’s Clear A5 Tags Sheet and  Words for Tickets set.  The paper is Echo Park Springtime pad.  The sweetheart blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Doo Hickey Picket Fence die is from Dies to Die For.

I have some fab dies from Go Kreate to give away as candy, I will try and get them listed either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Quick Flick day

Remember this card?

Well, I am so sorry you had to wait an extra week for the video tutorial on the shrink plastic charms, but last week was just manic and I only got round to shooting the video yesterday.  It was a bit of a mare, I kept drifting out of camera shot so after 4 attempts this is as good as it gets lol.  Please forgive my wittering, I swear I am losing my marbles (defo an age thing lol).

Oh and whilst I’m wittering I best let you know that the video is on the LOTV Ideas to Inspire Blog, and it will be on my video tutorials page later.

Edited to add the link for the Detail Embossing Powder from Imagination Crafts, you can find it here - if it is not showing on the website drop Sue an email and I am sure she will help you out :)

#123 Sol

Congratulations Sol, please email me your address to claim your prize, and please put Vintage Tilda in the subject line.

Doggie Delight

What a morning so far and it’s just gone 9 o’clock.  I have been backwards and forwards to Ikea so much this past week it feels like my second home, and I am heading back there now for more units for the craft room.  I am amazed at just how much my hubster is managing to fit in there :)

So because I was out and about most of yesterday I didn’t get a new card done, instead I am sharing one of the cards I did for SC&PC a few months back using the delish  Crab Apple Lane digis from Nitwit Collections and Doggie Delight from Lili of the Valley.  Aren't those papers just sublime!

Because the paper is quite busy I kept the embellies down to a minimum (What???  I hear you cry – well this is about as much less is more that I can take rofl – any less and I wouldn’t bother making a card I don’t think).  I break out in a cold sweat at the thought of no embellies on me cards.  The 15mm roses and carnations as well as the gorge broderie anglaise lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts, natch.

Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday, and on that note I am heading back to my second home lol.

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge

It’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge day today and our Jacque has done an awesome sketch for this challenge.  There is a twist to it though – to incorporate fall/autumn and embellish to your hearts content.  Now the embellishments bit I got, but divvie head here didn’t see the bit about autumn so the closest my card gets to autumn is that he is wearing a jumper cuz he’s chilly rofl.  Sorry Jacque, me BAD!!

I am so loving the new My Minds Eye 6 x 6 pads, I have got quite a few of them and they are delish!  I have used Honey Cake for today’s card, sooo yummy!  I was quite pleased with how his jeans turned out – me and Copic blues don’t get along very well that’s for sure.

The yummy hydrangea blooms, sweetheart blossoms, brads and lace are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The little heart button I found in my stash and it was just perfect for the image.

The gorge sentiment is from an Anna Griffin set from QVC.  I love her sentiment sets.

Hope you will pop across and check out the DT’s cards and maybe even join in – we have two fab sponsors this week, Letraset and Dies to Die For so double the chance of winning a prize :)

Have a fabulous weekend, we are going to be finishing off the walls in my craft room and may even get the floor laid wooo flipping hooooo!!  I might get in there before Christmas at this rate lol.  My hubster has done the most awesome job in that room, I am thrilled to bits with it and so grateful to him, he’s a total superstar for sure …. and no he’s not out for loan either, I have loads more jobs planned for him lol.
