TGIF and a long weekend too! We may even get some work done in that craft studio this weekend as it’s come to a standstill, with Tony having to work so much overtime. Fingers crossed for me then that he gets stuck in down there – at this rate I won’t be in this side of Christmas :(
So it’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge day and this week Donalda is hosting and has set Bingo as the challenge. We have two sponsors this week – Crafts U Love and The Ribbon Girl so two chances of winning a fab prize.
Those Grand Nesties got another airing again, I am loving round cards (got some more large dies on the way from Go Kreate so will be doing lots more shaped cards in the coming weeks.)
The Curly Wild Rose, 20mm roses,15mm roses and 10mm roses as well as the pearl stamens, pearls, padded gold butterfly and gorgeous silk ribbon is from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The Bingo line I went for is Flowers, Ribbon/Lace and Gems – so predictible lol. I found this sheet of paper that I had printed off a while back, no idea which kit it is from so when I find it again I will update this post with the link to it.
The colours used to colour Tilda are Copics E13,11,00,000,R20 for the skin, E29, 25, 23, 50 for the hair, E43,42,41,40, R29,24,00 for the dress, shoes and flowers and YG63,61 for the leaves.
The sentiment is Whimsy Postage Stamp sentiments from Dies to Die For. I used the matching die but when I tried to cut it out using the plastic measure/marker thingy I could not get it to work properly so what I found works best for me is to die cut the postage stamp shape then stick that with a small dab of sticky dots to a larger piece of card then stamp using the usual stamp positioner method and got the sentiment lined up perfect on the die cut. Trying it the other way …… I would have been bald had I carried on lol, a real tear my hair out job. I am so challenged when it comes to technical things and that was way too technical for me rofl.
I’ve popped this card in my Etsy shop
Have a fabulous weekend! And keep an eye out on the LOTV DT’s blogs from Monday for some amazing sneak peeks :)
hugs

ReplyDeletewe're in the same situation, both of us spent summer working flat out & on top of that there was silage & hay to make, cruise boats, tall ships & a list of commissions as long as my arm.
ReplyDeleteThankfully ! yesterday marked the end of the tourist season up here on the isle, ahead, 6 months of quiet time & a lot of catching up. New kitchen, 2 new bathrooms and the studio is having the walls raised & a new room to transform it into a two story 4 roomed building.
Love the card ! I bought the large circle and other shaped dies ages ago & not had a chance to play with them yet.
Aj.

Oh Bev - this is just so beautiful! What machine do you use to cut out the large shapes? - I'm still using the old red Sizzix machine, but its starting to wear out(so may soon need a new one)! Not sure if this is what you're supposed to do with the Whimsy dies, but it works for me - I place the plastic bit on top of the stamped sentiment then mark a dot throught the 2 wee holes on the edges, then take the plastic bit away and line up the cutting die so that the dots can be seen through the same wee holes on the die - hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the inspiration,
Bernice
