Can I tell you a secret?

Not really lol, that’s the name of the stamp I have used today, by Sarah Kay for Stampavie.  Still one of my favourites even though it’s a golden oldie.  And I’m afraid it’s pink again, I found this neglected First Edition Sweet Owl pad and well I just had to use it now didn’t I lol.

Going back to the big pictures, I prefer them even if it means you have to wear your mouse wheel out lol.  I used some of the new German Glass Glitter that Wild Orchid Crafts has in stock in the most delish array of colours.  I used brown and light rose 100 grit on the flowers.  Loving the texture and bling.

Copics and Prismacolor pencils were used to colour this sweetie:
Skin: E21, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E53 on the girl and E29, E27, E50  on the boy (used these for the boots as well), dark umber pencil
Dress and shoes: R85, R83, R81, RV000 Tuscan Rose pencil
Dungarees and shirt: E43, E42, E41, E40, E29, E25 Warm Grey 70% pencil
Background: BG000, E000, BG0000
Ground shadow was done with Warm Grey 70% pencil

Card Recipe:
Stamp:  Sarah Kay Can I tell you a secret; sentiment Elzybells
Paper: First Edition Sweet Owl pad
Embellies: Seam binding, button, twine, Prima Swirl, 25mm rose (my fave size!!), 15mm roses, 10mm roses, tulips, metal embellishments – corner all from Wild Orchid Crafts
Tools: Doo Hickey Tilda Lace Die, Nestibilities Labels 11

I’ve popped this card on eBay

I start with my long awaited hospital appointments today, got 1 today and 3 tomorrow and 2 next week, wish me luck :)  I will be so happy to get my life back on track again with hopefully a solution to end the constant pain without being zonked out on a cocktail of painkillers.

Magazine winners

Wow I didn’t realise my blonde moment magazine buys would prove to be so popular!  I will have to do this again :0)

The two winners (picked by my ever long suffering hubby) are:

Angelique and Mary Lou

Congratulations ladies, please email me your addresses so I can post them off to you

Last of the wedding stuff and Teddy Bo

Well I have reached the end of the Magnolia wedding commission so now I need to get my skates on and try and get some new cards made pronto.

I posted the first card in this set last week, the wedding couple easel card.  Here’s the Bridesmaid gift card holder and also the little wedding favour pillow boxes, the larger one for sweeties and the smaller for a lottery ticket or something along those lines – my wedding planning days are long gone thank goodness lol.

And here’s the thumbnails of the inside and also a close up of the image.  Click on the thumbnails to open them up bigger.

And here’s the little pillow boxes.  The rose stamp is an older Magnolia stamp

And here they are together

The papers are Tilda Frosted Blue Green, all lace, flowers, seam binding, pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts, all punches and dies from Dies to Die For apart from the little tag die which is from Go Kreate.

It’s Teddy Bo Tuesday today and this week it’s Team B’s turn to host the challenge which is anything but a Card.  There is also another amazing release crammed full of the cutest Teddy Bo’s and Bea’s.

Phew, another marathon of a post from me today, they are getting longer and longer and I am waffling on waaaaaay too much lol.

Toodles for now,

More wedding commission stuff

Still chasing my tail so here’s a few more pictures of the wedding commission I did early this year.  I posted the picture frame last week so thought I would share the card and candle box that completes the set.

The card is a criss cross card, I so love making these but never seem to remember to make this style when I am sat here in my craft room.

bev-rochester-wedding-commission3 bev-rochester-wedding-commission1

And here’s the candle box (never did get round to making the candle to go in it lol.  I made the box from scratch so if anyone is interested in me making a video leave a comment and I will get one done for you.

And here they all are together.  Stamps and papers are Magnolia apart from the sentiments.

The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts, mainly the 40mm Trellis roses, with some 15mm roses and rose buds added as fillers.  I edged all the large roses with gold acrylic paint as I did for the picture frame.

Simon Says Stamp candy winner

The winner of Elf Tilda is

Jan M

Congratulations Jan, please email me your address (please put Elf Tilda in the subject line)

Kitty Post and another Adorables

I’ve a Stampavie card to share with you today, this little cute is called Kitty Post.  Another magazine commission to the rescue else once again I would not have had anything to post.

The papers are from the Prima Sweet Fairy pad, so pretty and pink lol.  The Flowers, seam binding and rhinestones  are all from Wild Orchid Crafts natch.  The scalloped border is a MFT Die-Namics border die from Dies to Die For.

I’ve been having a fiddle with the settings in Live Writer and think I have at last cracked how the thumbnails work (but won’t know till I check the post later as I’m scheduling this) so fingers crossed.   It saves scrolling down for miles if you don’t want to see all the close-ups, and if you do want to take a closer look hopefully clicking on the pic will open it up larger in a new screen (fingers crossed again).  I’m not sure if I like it like this, or prefer the in your face huge pics that I am used to seeing, the jury is out lol.

I also have another Adorables card to share, the last one I did for the commission for Jayne Nestorenko.  This one is from the stamp plate Birthday Girl.  I believe the release has been a sell-out success on Create & Craft and I am not in the least bit surprised.  They truly are amazing stamps.  Thanks for giving me the opportunity to work with them Jayne xx  They should be available on Crafters Companion website so if you missed out on Create & Craft you will be able to get them there.

I am off to finish another magazine commission (one more card to make woohoo) then going to start the dog bathing marathon, Tony baths them and I dry them (not sure who has drawn the short straw lol).

I’ll be back later with the Simon Says Stamp candy winner, enjoy the rest of your day

Visitors Candy

It’s ages since I last gave some visitors candy away so I thought I would give two lots away today.  I really don’t get round to visiting to you all these days as I’ve so much behind the scenes DT work on the go, so will try and do this more often (if this ancient brain remembers!)

My hubby has chosen two commenter names from yesterday’s blog post so ….

Ednamburgess can you please email me your address so I can pop a Lili of the Valley Autumn Calling fairy stamp in the mail to you and …

Diane (Crazycraftshed) can you please email me your address so I can pop a Stampavie Gillian Roberts Flower Girl stamp in the mail to you.

And thank you all so much for taking the time to visit and leave comments, I really do appreciate it so much. xxx

A couple of Adorables

I clean forgot to post another of the Adorables cards yesterday, so today you get a double dose lol.  The stamps, by Jayne Nestorenko, are on sale now from  Crafters Companion and Create & Craft (and I even spotted some of my cards on Create and Craft when I was watching the show last night :o) oooh get me lol)

I used the April Showers stamp plate, I really can’t get over the detail in these stamps, nothing has been overlooked.   Isn’t that background stamp just fab!  The sentiment is also from the stamp plate.

And the second card is from the Secret Garden plate.  Loving those wellies lol.  Again the background and sentiment is all from the same plate.

Hope you all have a sun-shiney day!  (Please Mr Sun have your hat on for the rest of the weekend, it is supposed to be summer you know!)

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge

It’s Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge day today and it’s the weekend thank goodness.  I do hope we have a warm weekend, who stole our summer???  This week our hostess is Pops and she has chosen a theme of butterflies.  I was so relieved to be able to use a project I made at the beginning of the year for a magazine as I have so much work going on behind the scenes I am not getting much time for new cards.

So here’s the second project from the Magnolia wedding commission I did.  Not much Magnolia on there apart from the heart stamp but at least it’s there lol.  The couple is my gorgeous daughter and her new hubby on her wedding day nearly 8 years ago.  And yes the mother of the bride cried that day but not nearly as much as the dad of the bride lol.  Bless him he broke his little heart at the thought of losing his daughter.  Little did we know we would see her more after she moved to her own home than what we did when she lived with us lol.

The photo frame started life as a papier mache frame from Hobbycraft.  I gave it a few coats of acrylic paint then gently wiped gold paint over the raised bits with a make-up sponge to highlight the texture.  I also applied the cold paint to the roses after slathering them in glimmer mist.

I even managed to squeeze a couple of butterflies on there.  The large roses are trellis roses, they were just the perfect size for the frame, the little roses are 15mm roses.  You can see from the pic below the roses stand quite proud of the frame, love those trellis roses!

And that’s it from me today, I am going to be stuck in this craft room all weekend.  Have a good one whatever your plans.

Lili of the Valley Challenge, another sneak peek and some new products at Wild Orchid Crafts

It’s Lili of the Valley Challenge day today and this week we have a brilliant sketch by our Donalda.

Lots of new products on my card today – the paper is Bumbleberry Cottage from Nitwit Collections.  Love all the soft pretty pastels in this kit.  And the stamp is new of course, this is Doggie Delight – one of the new Girls stamps that were released last week.  How cute is that chef’s hat lol.

And then there’s lots of new products coming to Wild Orchid CraftsGerman Glass Glitter in the most gorgeous rainbow of colours in two different grades, I have used the silver 80 grit on the swirls tucked in to the flowers.  Also new is Venise lace – very yummy little and no so little appliqu├ęs and also lace.  I have used two of the small butterflies today.  And then there are BRADS!!  OMW the selection is amazing.  There are pearl brads in 3 different sizes but then there is also jewel brads but they have a moonstone look to them, totally gorge!  They will not be on the website for another week or so as the packaging for them has not arrived yet.  But they will be worth the wait I promise!  And I nearly forgot, remember the carnations I made a while back from the flat blooms, well now you can buy them already made up, I’ve used a white one in the flower arrangement along with my favourite 25mm rose, 15mm roses and hydrangeas.

And another shot of the brads, I’m in love lol.  The seam binding got a dose of Vintage Photo ink, think with hindsight Victorian Velvet would have been better.  Too late she cried!

And I also have another Adorables )by Jayne Nestorenko) card to share today.  This one is from the Wash Day Wishes plate.  That poor cat really is not enjoying his bath lol.  The papers are from the Echo Park Springtime pad, flowers, seam binding, button and twine are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

And after that I am off to lie down in a darkened room lol.

Penny Johnson stamp winner

The winner of my mini candy is

Congratulations Yvon, please email me to claim your prize.  Please put Penny Johnson stamp in the subject line.

By the Sea

I’ve another sneak peek to share today, the stamp plate I used for today’s card is called By the Sea.  It’s another from the new release by Jayne Nestorenko that will be on Create & Craft on the weekend.  I really loved colouring these images, the detail is so amazing.  How cute is that little starfish and the lifebuoy!!

The papers are Fancy Pants Wishful Thinking, I love these papers.  I picked up on the banners pattern on the paper by die cutting some banners with a Whimsy Pennants Banners die set that the lovely Tracy is now stocking at Dies to Die For.  She’s got their stamps too, including all the fabulous sentiment stamps.  Guess who filled her boots last night rofl.  Oh yes, all the ones that are always sold out Bev got last night hee hee (small things amuse small minds you know).  The border is a Martha Stewart Zig Zag border punch, and the letters are a from the Tim Holtz Vintage Market die.  The gingham ribbon is from Craft Fairy.

I have a Penny Johnson stamp from Stampavie to give away today, so if you fancy your luck leave a comment and I will draw a winner tonight.  The winner has now been drawn.

Teddy Bo Tuesday and a sneak peek of a commission I have been busy with

It’s …. Teddy Bo Tuesday and that means new images are up on the website …. and Gayle has been thinking Christmas.  You really do need to go and take a look at the new cuties, they are just the sweetest.

Before I get on to my Teddy Bo card I thought I would share a sneak peek of one of the cards I was commissioned to do for Jayne Nestorenko for her new release that goes on sale on Create & Craft on 24th 11am, 2pm and 6pm and Sat 25th 10am,  12pm and 3.00pm.  Isn’t she just gorgeous!  The stamp plate is called Hide and Seek and I used the gate, girl and bunch of flowers as well as the sentiment from the plate.  I really loved working with these stamps and think they are Jayne’s best yet!  I have 5 more to share over the coming week.

And for my Teddy Bo card I’ve used a Bo image and it’s the first Bo I have coloured up …..  and Bea has now been relegated to the norty corner because I just love Bo.  I think it’s the puzzled look on his little face that gets me lol.  Now then there’s a story behind this card, it was originally going to be a round card but I printed the image out too big and had already spent ages colouring it and it looked daft on the round card so I settled for a sort of easel card.

I have used papers from the Gradulations kit from Nitwit Collections, loving the browns and oranges – just perfect for a male card.

I spent quite a while colouring this image (all that grass!!!) although I didn’t use many markers.
Bo and his little pal: E44, E43, E31,R20, E40, E18, E15, E13
Top and Hat: B02, B01, B00, B000, B0000, YR18, YR02
Grass: YG67, YG63, YG61, G20

The sentiment is an old Elzybells stamp (I miss that company so much, their sentiments were just perfect for so many cards).  The seam binding, button and twine is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little butterflies are punched from a MS PATP butterfly border set

And here’s what’s on offer tomorrow, the pic is linked if you want to pop across to the website for a closer look.
