Wild Orchid Crafts Blog Hop and Lili of the Valley Challenge

It’s Lili of the Valley Challenge day today and this week the challenge is “Love is in the Air” which works so perfect with the new Wild Orchid Crafts' Classic Colour Range of Mulberry Paper Roses.  It's an all new colour range and is a mixture of Vintage and soft faded colours, my very favourites!

woc-hop

hAnglar & sTanglar Sailor Kids

Our Wild Orchid Crafts blog hop has been put back until tomorrow so I thought I would share another card made with those stunning new flowers and colours.   The only problem with these new colours is that it now takes me even longer to make a card because I can’t decide which colours to use lol … I want to use them ALL!

Nitwit Collections also have new stuff out – Promises Collection.  Love the soft aqua and lilac with a touch of blue in there, so pretty!

hs-sailor

I have used one of my new hAnglar & sTanglar stamps from the Sailor Kids kit.  Being able to buy the stamps from their website is just brilliant, and the service is fantastic too.  Three days from date of order till I have these little cuties in my little mitts, love it.  I am going to enter this card in the Lovely hAnglar Only challenge which is your favourite stamp – I love them all so this wasn’t difficult lol

She has been coloured with the usual Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Skin: E21, E00, E000, R20, R30
Hair:  E53, E51, E50, dark umber and light umber pencil

Aquas: BG13, BG11, BG10 and black pencil

hs-sailor1

And now the total deliciousness of the new flowers.  OMW the pink is just sublime!

hs-sailor2

Instead of using another layer of paper I thought I would die-cut one of the Marianne D butterfly dies, I inked the edges with Broken China distress ink then added some Starlight Stickles.

hs-sailor-3

Card Recipe:
Stamps: hAnglar & sTanglar Sailor Kids kit, MFT Die-Namics Polka Dot Die and Greeting set (sentiment)

woc1

I dug out some Tilda papers – Frosted Bluegreen and went with the White/Aqua/Taupe colour combo. I think I got a bit carried away when distressing the seam binding, a bit too grungy for me lol.

Don’t those new colours just look totally sublime with the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue papers?  Mmmm so pretty.  I used an X-Cut border die, love the embossing detail on it.

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge

Although it’s a bank holiday weekend we thought we would still run with the weekly Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week we have an awesome sketch by the uber talented Dena.  Thanks sweets, loved working with it, just my kind of sketch :)

My delivery of new Bo Bunny goodies arrived yesterday from Charmed Cards and Crafts and I just had to use the new stash.  OMW the new Gabrielle and Timepiece collections are just sublime (links at the bottom of the post).  And this time I have the trinkets to go with the papers, they are just fab!  I went a bit overboard with them on my card today but couldn’t stop lol.  Just peeking out at the top and bottom of the card is the starburst border that was punched with my new Martha Stewart punch set that was on HSN a couple of weeks back as a TSV (is that what it is called in the US?) and was so kindly sent to me by my little angel that lives across the pond.  This lady spoils me rotten, thanks sweetie xxxxx

hawaii-tilda

The cameo and bronze butterfly are from the Gabrielle Trinkets.  I am def going to be using these lots – they make a special card just that bit extra special I think.  A close up of that gorge cameo.  Love it!

A close up of the white baby’s breath flowers after I had pulled them to bits (as I do!).   I snipped the wire off the end, pulled the pearl stamens out so I could squish the flower up to fit in under the roses then used the waste pearl stamens in the arrangement.

I will list this card later in my eBay shop.

Whatever your plans I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend and a happy and peaceful Easter.

Lili of the Valley challenge

Whoops I very nearly didn’t get this card done, I spent quite a bit of time in bed yesterday and as per had left it till the last minute.  Thank goodness for these Scallop Concertina cards from Which Crafts (link at the bottom of the post).  They are just fab and make quick cards a total doddle!

spring-swing-step1

Sorry the pics are so bright, I had to take these late last night using the light box (hate that wretched thing).  Not much to say on this card except I used my favourite image from the last Lili of the Valley release – Spring Swing.  I just totally love this little bunny.  I coloured the little daisies on the ssentiment and popped a little rhinestone in the centres.

An angle shot so you can hopefully see how brilliant these pre-scored cards are.

Card Recipe:
Pre-Cut and scored  Scallop Concertina card from Which Craft

When you wish upon a star – Teddy Bo

Another late posting, and another doctors appointment – I am so fed up of doctors and hospital visits as I’m normally as healthy as an ox so this is driving me nuts.  At last they have got all the results back and whilst they are not good and have left me a bit shaken up this morning at least now I know where I am going from here .  Enough feeling sorry for yourself Bev, get on with today’s posting.

I did another Teddy Bo card for today, using browns and blues and a bit of inking and distressing.

star-bea

The glitter on the wings and star is not showing up too good, the light was not very good this morning

star-bea2

Loads of gorgeous Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and seam binding and a hand made button for the bow.  The “leaves” in the flower spray are actually a chopped up snowflake (Magnolia Doo Hickey) as I wanted something quite feathery with the leaves being die cut in brown card.

star-bea4

Card Recipe
