A Hanglar & Stanglar shaped card

Phew I didn’t think I was going to get this post scheduled. I was sat at the computer last night trying to sort out the picture quality so I can see the card before I post it as it’s so fuzzy. And all of a sudden a bright flash streaked across my craft room accompanied by a great big bang. I nearly died of fright, our house along with quite a few others on our estate and the main cable box was struck by lightening. I thought we had been attacked by aliens lol. I didn’t think my big fat bum could move as quick as it did rofl. It’s funny now, but I got the fright of my life. If my hubby was having an AF attack the bang would have slowed his heart right down I tell ya! So we had no internet last night, my son’s cable box (NO TV or internet, horror!) and his burglar alarm blew up, his neighbours computer blew up and a lot of other burglar alarms were hit as well as the alarms were ringing like crazy here. Oh for a quiet life lol.

So on to my card, I have used those fabulous Go-Kreate dies again, this time I used the Half XXL Square Frame Frilly #2. I love that I can cut all the layers so they all keep the shape of the card base.

Edited to add: You need a larger (A4) die cutting machine to cut the large Go-Kreate and Spellbinders dies. I have the Spellbinders Grand Calibur die cutting machine and it's fab!

I have used one of my precious Hanglar & Stanglar stamps again, and coloured the image with Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, their circular Christmas sentiments. The papers are Simple Joys kit by Nitwit Collections and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - 25mm hybrid tea roses, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms, 8mm semi open roses and 4mm rosebuds.

This card is on Ebay along with a few others.

Stay warm, and I hope you have not had as much of this minging snow as we have had, well over 2 foot. Our bird bath in the back garden looks like a great big ice-cream cone with 2 foot of snow sat on top of it lol.

Wild Orchid Challenge – an Old Fashioned Christmas

Our challenge on Wild Orchid Challenge this week is an Old Fashioned or Victorian Christmas. I love what the DT have come up with this week, the cards are truly amazing!

I must once again apologise for the photos if they are bad, I can’t really judge what they look like as the picture quality on the computer is so bad. My new graphics card is on its way thank goodness so I should be able to see what’s on the screen soon lol. Either that or I am so going to take a hammer to the whole lot before I am bald!!!

I had a play with my new dies from Go-Kreate. I love love love them! They arrived very quickly (next day actually) and they come packaged on a magnetic sheet so really easy to store. They cut beautifully too! I am loving the big dies, and have made quite a few different shaped cards this weekend. This was my first one, using the XXL Frames, Frilly #2.

The papers are from an old K&Co pad that I bought from Oyster Stamps a while back. The sweet image – Noel Faith - is from last year’s Sarah Kay release from Stampavie, and has been coloured with copics. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, their Holiday Ticket Sentiments.

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and are 25mm hybrid tea rose, 15mm roses, 8mm semi open roses, 4mm rosebuds, cherry blossoms. The sweet little snowflakes are from Michaels, a lovely surprise from a sweet friend xx. The 16mm satin ribbon is from Craft Fairy.

Simon Says Stamp candy winner

Oops once again I nearly forgot to do the draw for this weeks winner. And the lucky lady is

Congratulations sweetie, please email me your address (please put Honey Tilda in the subject line)

Kenny K Challenge – Think Pink

I nearly didn’t get this card done, I have been so busy trying to sort this dratted computer out.  We’ve found out at last what the problem is thank goodness, it’s the POO graphics card.  Ordered another one so should be back up to speed again once it’s here and installed.  I didn’t loose anything except my emails which still aren’t fixed, thank goodness for gmail!!.  It’s the picture quality is so pants after what I was used to on my other computer that had a top notch graphics card in (that don’t fit this computer – typical!!) so I can’t sit at the computer for very long as it’s giving me migraines and I so don’t need those starting again.

Sooo, here’s a very quick and thrown together card for this week’s Kenny K Challenge (Think Pink) using one of the new Krash Kittenz that have been released today at Kenny K’s shop.  They are fantastic, the perfect solution to all those tricky mens cards that we all hate (I know I did, not any more lol).  I have used Pitstop Penny (had to go for her as one of my doggies is called Penelope Pitstop rofl).

I did the out of the box technique on this else the image would have covered most of the card.  Quite like the small square effect.  Not many Copics used here, C9,7,5,3,1,0 & 00 and R85, 83, 81.  Oh and E21, 00, 000 for the skin.  The papers are from a Me and My Big Ideas pad.  I made the little heart “buttons” from chipboard and triple embossing to give the shine.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps from their Ticket Sentiments set.

This card will be on Ebay later today along with a few others.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Hope it’s not too cold where you are – we have had so much snow this weekend, about a foot and still more to come YUK!!!!!!!  So stay warm.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Donalda has done a fab sketch for us on Just Magnolia this week.  Just my kind of sketch.  At last I have managed to use the new Simple Joys kit by Nitwit Collections.  Love the traditional colours of this kit so much.

Check out that gorgeous Die-namics Faux Crochet Border die and Die-namics Doily die.  I hyperventilated when they arrived in the mail this week lol.  They cut a dream and the doily is whole, no half jobs like the Magnolia doily die that got me so hacked off a while back.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley – their Christmas Sentiments and the flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, 25mm Tea Roses, 15mm roses, small flat gardenia, 4mm rose buds and 8mm semi open roses.  The stars are cut from chipboard then slathered in German Glass Glitter that shines so much better than the picture is showing.

I coloured the image with Copics and used
Skin:  E21, E00, E000
Hair:  E79, E74, E70, E40
Dress:  R29, R27, R25, R22
Roses/leaves: E59, E29, E27/YG67, YG11

I have another card that is almost done using the Simple Joys kit, I should get it up on the blog sometime this weekend.  It’s taken me a while to get finished as  I’ve been playing with my new Grand Calibur that arrived this week from Oyster Stamps and XXL dies from Go-Kreate, (they are fabulous and a heck of a lot cheaper than Nesties) so watch this space for fancy shaped cards.  Love it!!

I’ll be back later with the winner of the Promarkers candy.

Lili of the Valley Challenge – my sketch

I’ve provided the sketch for this week’s Lili of the Valley Challenge so it’s a nice easy one.

I have used another of the soon to be released Garden Fairies, this beauty is called Blue Haze.  Since I made the card Laila has worked some more of her magic on the image and altered the hair so it’s more wispier and softer.  Even so I think she is so gorgeous.

I have used the very glittery MME Lost and Found Market Street papers, love them!  In keeping with the glittery paper I have blinged her wings.  I had quite a few emails asking what glitter I use on the wings – I use Glamour Dust and adhere it to the image with a Quickie Glue Pen.

The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used 30mm Wild Roses, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms, 8mm semi open roses and the leaves are punched with a Martha Stewart Frond Branch punch.

The delish 25mm satin ribbon was in my GDT kit from The Ribbon Girl.

The sentiment is from the Dreamy Days circular sentiments from Lili of the valley.  The border punch is a new Martha Stewart punch around the page set.

German Glass Glitter give away

I just got an email through from Meyer Imports.  They are giving away a set of droolworthy German Glass Glitter

If you haven’t tried this then hop over to their blog right now and enter, it’s the most amazing glitter there is out there.

Happy Kiss-mas

I just love these little mice, it’s one of Stampavie’s Christmas stamps from last year, by Gillian Roberts. Too cute for words lol.

I also love the Nitwit CollectionsCookin’ Cookies digi papers (and have you seen the new set, Simple Joys? They are gorgeous!!). I used a Marianne D Designer Doily die on the striped paper, and popped some gold pearls on for a bit of interest.

The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts - 40mm roses and 15mm roses. The mistletoe dies is from Magnolia and those gorgeous sparkly little snowflakes were a gift from my fab friend Jacque. Loving these snowflakes thanks sweetie mwah xxx.

For the ribbon/lace treatment I quickly pleated and stitched the lace then to hide the stitching laid some satin ribbon from the Craft Fairy over the edge of the lace. The sentiment is from Elzybells, sadly she has closed down her website.

The image was coloured with Promarkers:
Mice: Terracotta, vanilla and ivory
Clothes: Cardinal Red, Poppy and blender, Mustard and Ivory (with black Prismacolor pencil)
Mistletoe: Pine, Meadow Green

Something a little different from Lili of the Valley

When these images arrived from Lili of the Valley on Friday I was totally blown away, oh my word I am still drooling. Now don’t panic, we are not losing Rosie or any of the other cuties, but are adding to the range of fabulous stamps with these stunning fairies by Molly Harrison. Now isn’t this fairy just gorgeous!
I decided to use Memory Box Gossamer papers for this card, I think the soft colours with the splash of chocolate brown are just perfect for the fairy image. Loving the sentiment too, there is a range of them that will accompany these stamps. I am not sure when they will be released so watch this space ………
I used the delish German Glass Glitter again (can’t help myself lol). I die cut some chipboard stars with a Sizzix die then coated the large star with Distress Crackle Paint then edged it with the Glass Glitter. The small flat gardenia just fitted in with the arrangement perfectly I think. The other flowers are aster daisies and cherry blossoms.
I used the MFT Die-Namics Open Scallop border die is covered up by the bow and sentiment but it’s there, you can just see it peeking out. Talking about the bow, it’s that gorgeous silk ribbon from The Ribbon Girl again – love it!!
I coloured the image with copics and used:
Skin: E21, E00, E000
Hair: E79, E74, E70, E40
Dress: R21, R30, R00, R000, R89, R85
Shadow: C's
I will have another of these new fairies to show you later in the week.
Enjoy your week

Simon Says Stamp Candy Winner

Ooops I nearly forgot to do the draw for this weeks winner. And the lucky lady is

Mary Mac

Congratulations sweetie, please email me your address (please put Happy Tilda in the subject line)

Little Ballerina

I am so late with my post today, I only finished this card last night and have been waiting for some decent light so I could photograph the card. Think I might have a long wait, it’s another dark and dreary day today so out came the daylight lamps. Anyhow, this Little Ballerina certainly brightens up my day, she is the sweetest little lady bless.

I'm entering this card in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge - buttons galore (thanks Leanne xx)

I was asked to guest design for The Ribbon Girl for November and December and of course me loving my ribbons the way I do it took me all of a nano-second to say yes. When my DT kit arrived on Friday I was drooling lol. I used their silk ribbon on this card, couldn’t help myself lol – I love how it holds its shape when tied in a bow. I also used one of their polka dot buttons in the centre of the bow and tied some candy pink bakers twine through the button before I fixed it to the bow with Crafters Pick glue.

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used 40mm hybrid tea rose, cherry blossom, aster daisies and gladioli stem flowers. All have been blinged to within an inch of their lives with pearl Glimmer Mist. The scrolls are from a Quickutz die.

lb2The paper is an old old one. I decided yesterday I am not going to buy any more papers till I start using up some of my older ones. Now we all know that is NOT going to work lol but I’m trying (yep very trying rofl). So I don’t even know if this paper is still available it’s so old. All that’s on the paper is the makers – Studio Light, ScrapsL93.

The sentiment is by Lili of the ValleyDream Days Sentiments which are back in stock.

I stamped the image on to Super Smooth Stamping card which in my opinion is the best out there for using with alcohol markers. coloured the image with Promarkers and used:
Skin: Apricot, Oatmeal, Blush
Hair: Raw Sienna, Mustard, Ivory
Dress and shoes: Cocktail Pink, Pale Pink and Blush

Sorry for the long post again, I do witter on don’t I !?!

And I forgot!! The new Kenny K challenge is up today here

This card will be on Ebay this evening.

Update on MFT dies and stuff

I used a My Favourite Things Die-namics scalloped border die last week and quite a few people were after it. Unfortunately the Dies to Die for site went down last week (poor Tracy had a week from hell) but it's back up and running now.

Just after the site was back up and running Tracy's computer died so she has lost all the emails from people waiting for these dies and other stuff to come back in to stock. So if you were waiting for something can you please drop Tracy another email as she is keeping this stuff off the website till she thinks she has heard from everyone. Don't hang about as those MFT dies are fantastic and don't stay in stock for long.

Just Magnolia White + One

TGIF!!!  And that means Just Magnolia day.  This week our challenge is White + One, so white plus another colour for papers and embellishments.

The papers are last years leftovers (Craft Creations), I don’t think I will ever tire of this gorgeous paper.  The big snowflake is a Christmas tree ornament.  I saw it on Jacque's card and fell in love.  Next thing I know that sweet lady has sent me a whole box full of snowflakes in all different sizes. Thanks sweetie mwah x

The ribbon treatment is that old seam binding again, scrunched and wrinkled up with a brad popped through the centre of the bow that I tied on the Bow Easy that I got from Quixotic Paperie.  It makes tying double bows a doddle.

The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts, I used a Hellebore, a white 25mm hybrid tea rose that I spritzed with silver Cosmic Shimmer mist, and 15mm roses.  I also used some Crystal Stems and pins

The image was really easy to colour, I used Promarkers.

Apricot, Oatmeal and Blush for the skin, Cool greys 5,4,3,2,1 and blender for the rest.  I then ran some Crystal Stickles around the papers and around her dress and socks.  The flowers didn’t get missed either lol.

Another view of that gorgeous snowflake – love it!

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley – Christmas Circular Sentiments that I cut out with the small Classic Circles (Nestibilities) – the 3rd smallest in the set.  The border punch is Martha Stewart, I think this one is my favourite of all of them, and it was a gift from a special friend.  It was like Christmas in my house this week lol. xxxxx

Please pop across to the JM blog to take a peek at the rest of the DT’s creations, they are amazing!

Back later with the Magnolia candy.
