I’ve another Christmas card to share today – I have got so many DT Christmas stamps that I think I will be concentrating on them for a while yet. For our Lili of the Valley challenge we have one of my simple sketches to follow (I’m still loving the simple ones lol).
And I have made a Baby’s First Christmas card. I just love this image – too sweet and I think it would work for a little girl as well. Hmmm I will have to get the pinks out lol.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used 20mm roses, cherry blossoms, 15mm roses and 5mm rosebuds. The Guipure lace is also from Wild Orchid Crafts. Everything has been zapped with Stardust Stickles – the fur on his hat and sleeves, all the edges of the papers and all the flowers. The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley
I have used Heidi Grace papers left over from last year (I actually ordered some new papers from Quixotic Paperie yesterday – the yummy Memory Box Christmas pad so will wear that out when it arrives I’m sure). The image was coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I was playing a while back when colouring the image for this card and this card and added black pencil to enhance the shadings and loved the depth the black pencil gave to the image. It really makes it pop. I apply it wherever I want to darken parts of the image (even the beige of his antlers got the black pencil treatment). I wasn’t going to use this technique on this image as I wanted it soft for a new baby but it looked rather bland so out came the pencil lol. Keep an eye out on Jacqui's blog as she is going to do a little tutorial for you. The Copics I used are:
Skin: E21, E00, E000, R20
Clothes and Hat: BG13, BG11, BG10
Horse: E18, E17, E15, E13, E11 and E42, E41, E40
Shadow: E43, E42, E41, E40
