Just Magnolia week 16 - Distressing

We have another nice easy challenge on Just Magnolia this week, Distressing. I found another image that I have had for ages and never got round to inking up and think it's perfect for a distressed look. Plus it was so easy to colour, must remember this one for quick cards.

I am STILL using these MME papers, goodness they sure are lasting a while lol. I have used Mina's idea of layering the punched papers - it's so pretty and I will def be using this style again so thanks for sharing sweetie.
jm-magnolia-flower-box-card

A Spoonful of Sugar

One more day till Friday thank goodness (who else wishes the weeks away??) I came home to bloodbath yesterday, my hubby rang me at lunch time (he was on back shift thank goodness) to say our Ebony was bleeding from her back end. I think I told my boss I was going home but I can't remember if I did or left it to his imagination as to where I was going, I was in such a state. I am terrified of pyometra in my girls and was imagining allsorts on the way home. Anyway it turned out to be an abscess that had burst, poor little babe was in agony (and bit the nice Mr Vet as a thank you for his trouble at trying to help – oops). She’s had a strong painkiller and antibiotic shot and is out for the count now so hopefully some of the pain has eased. Here’s my Ebs – ain’t she a little doll xx So sorry that I did not get round to visiting any blogs last night as I had planned to, hopefully will be able to do so tonight.47b4d834b3127cceb004a4e86ef40000001610

Okay, that’s enough excitement for the week thanks, on to my card now. I have been wanting to use this little sweetie for ages, she was the start of my love affair with Elisabeth Bell images and is still one of my favourite stamps (even though she's been neglected for months and months poor little thing).sn-mme-grey1

I have used this weeks Spoonful of Sugar sketch - another that will be filed in my favourite sketches to be used again and again. I have had to leave the 3rd flower off though as there was not enough room on the card, especially with the busy paper (still not put these away and my stocks are dwindling very fast - I need a restock I think). I was going to stitch around the card but decided to do some paper pricking instead (divvie here didn't work out I could have done this so much quicker by removing the thread from the sewing machine and running the card through - rolls eyes again!!)

The inside is very plain again but thought I would photograph it anyway.
sn-mme-grey-2
Recipe:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie Picking Apples, Fiskars Cameo Ovations sentiment (love these)
Papers: MME Wild Asparagus 6 x 6 pack
Tools: Nestabilities circles and ovals, Retro flower punches medium & large, SU 5 petal flower punch, EK Success Slim scalloped border punch
Embellishments: Brads, spacers and pearls

And thanks so much to Scrappinlil for this brill award - not seen this one before xx

Whiff of Joy challenge - Flowers

We have a nice and easy challenge on WOJ this week, flowers. So you can guess who was so in her element lol. I used the dolly mixture (my name for it) print from the Basic Grey Wisteria pad so didn't go for any layers on this card. I am going to enter this card in a couple of other challenges as well, Stamp with Fun's challenge is pearls and MTTC is floral frenzy.

woj-lovely-in-lilac
I received my new DT kit from Crafty Feeling and love the delish lilacs, purples and greens in this kit due out the 10th August (I think). So as soon as I saw the flowers they went straight on the card lol.

I have decorated the inside, but it’s rather plain so have not bothered to photograph it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Sitting summer Willow, and sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Simply the Best set
Paper: Basic Grey Wisteria 6 x 6 pad
Tools: Spellbinders Pendants Borderabilities Renaissance Hearts, Circle Nestabilities, SU word window punch, Mc Gill Botanical Pine punch
Embellies: Flowers and Dew Drops from Crafty Feeling, spacers and brads from The Hobby House

Whiff of Joy DT card - my little ark

This was originally going to be my blog hop card last Saturday, but it was only after it was all finished and photographed I realised I had forgotten to use the little lion that was my blog candy. I am soooo dense! So I had to quickly whip up the side step card instead.

blog-hop-3
Anyway, here's the card that never was lol. I sketched out a template, cut it out of dark brown card then decided it was naff. So I chopped up some lighter brown card into strips, distressed the edges with Walnut Stain ink and then just stuck it on with random joins to try and resemble wood. The portholes are just circles punched from gold and black mirri card.  The roof tiles are just punched circles (3/4” Stampin Up punch) that I overlapped and lifted a bit.

Here’s a pic of the card open, I think you can see the texture of the roof tiles better in this shot.
blog-hop-2
I really enjoyed making this one, so different from my usual overload of ribbons, pearls and flowers lol.

Recipe:
Stamps: All Whiff of Joy new Party Animals release, coloured with distress inks and H2O's
Tools: Nowt much bar the circular punches lol.

Colour Create & Creative Inspirations challenges

woj-sam-1 I had a request for a wedding card today so decided to use this weeks Creative Inspirations and Colour Create challenges. This image was requested so I went with using Flowersoft and pearls again. Love how well these work with the image.

I wanted to use the Renaissance Hearts borderabilities but am such a durr! I picked up the wrong die and didn't have any more card in this shade blue so was stuck with the In Spades shape instead (although it works well with placing it vertically so landed up being the correct one in the end - that's my story and I'm sticking to it lol).
woj---sam-2
The inside, used more of the gorgeous DCWV Old World paper on the inside and also the beautiful dove image.
woj-sam-3

And one more (Lord Lichfield eat your heart out rofl)woj-sam-4

Paper: DCWV Old World
Tools: Spellbinders Pendants Borderabilities - In Spades, Nestibilities Labels One, SU Word Window punch, McGill Botanical Pine punch, Martha Stewart Flourish Punch

Inky Impressions treble combo

I have just discovered these adorable images - oh wow, how cute!! I just love Lili, those eyes!!! So I've managed to combine three challenges with this card: I followed the sketch on Simon Says Stamp challenge, used pink green and yellow for Papertake Weekly challenge, and think this card fits in with the Summer theme on Stampavie & More.

I broke down and got some Copics last week - oh boy the panic is unreal!! I coloured this image with the usual distress inks and H2O's (cos I'm such a scaredy cat) then used the copics over and wow, what a difference they make - talk about adding depth and dimension. Now I've just got to get brave enough (and more colours lol) to attempted to colour a whole image with copics only. Think that's still a long way away.
birthday-1
I received some of the new Spellbinders Pendants borderabilities in my DT kit from Create4Fun last week, so had to use one of them on my card - love them!!  I used the other border in the side for the inside but can't get a decent photo of it sadly (done my head in big time!)

Recipe:
Stamps: Inky Impressions Lili's birthday cake from Create4Fun and sentiment from CleverCut (I think)
Papers: DCWV Nana's Nursery
Tools:  McGill Botanical Pine punch, Spellbinders Borderabilities Renaissance Hearts, Circle Nestabilities, medium retro flower punch
Embellies: Fine organza ribbon from Create4Fun (can't see it on the web), flat backed crystals, Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts

blog-hop-6a Woohoo, it's pawty time!! So join us in Whiff of Joy's first anniversary celebrations!! If you've just stopped by now, then hop on over to Katharina's blog to start from the beginning of the hop.

I've used the brand new Whiff of Joy animals stamps by Alison Acton that are being released tonight for my card. I had made two cards and couldn't decide which card to show but in the end went with this cute side step card (instructions can be found here amongst other places - can't remember where else I visited lol) as it has the adorable little lion on that I am giving away as candy tonight (more on that further down). I’ll post the other card tomorrow. All the stamps used on the card are by Whiff of Joy, including the Party Animal sentiment that is just perfect for this series of stamps. The papers are MME Bloom & Grow again. The images are coloured with distress inks and H2O's.
blog-hop-4a
Don't forget that as well as each DT and GDT member offering a stamp as candy, there is a surprise candy hidden somewhere on the hop - the prize is the full set of 9 stamps so keep a look out for this on your travels tonight. A treble today

I've actually managed to do a combo at last. I had made this card for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge (the sketch is such a fab one this week), then checked out the challenges for Wednesday and saw that this card fits Creative Inspirations (Distressing) and Stampavie & More (Summer). Well chuffed lol.
daisy-mme-2
I have used the gorgeous MME papers again - I have still not put them away, they are at arms reach so I can stroke them now and then lol. A bit of stitching, the usual flowers, brads, spacers and charm and job done. I so love easy peasy cards. I have not photographed the inside, it's rather plainly decorated with no stamping (getting lazy).

Recipe:
Stamps: Sentiment is a freebie from a magazine, Daisy by Sugar Nellie
Papers: MME Pretty Please
Tools: SU Slot (or is it slit??) punch, Nesties and sewing machine, KurePunch Medium - Heart Petal Flower punch
Embellies: Prima flowers, punched flowers (punch is similar to the retro medium but a little smaller with a nice shaped petal). Brads, spacers and charm from The Hobby House.

woj-burgundy-1This week we have a fabulous sketch by Donalda for you on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog.

I have used the gorgeous Papermania Regency papers on my card (just love these papers and also the Blueberry Hill pad - just my kinda papers lol). I rotated the sketch (just to be awkward - yes there's always one and it's usually me!!)

Friday Sketchers

woj-abigail1 I'm on time with a challenge for a change - did this one for Friday Sketchers. I dug out Willow with cookies, poor little lamb has been very neglected of late. I love WOJ stamps, not only because I am lucky enough to be on the DT, but because the images are timeless - I will still be using them for years and years and don't think I will ever tire of them.

I used some of my MME stash, oh my goodness I was weak at the knees when I cut into these beauties - AND I don't have any spares!!! *Swoon* Guess who needs to get stocked up and fast lol.
woj-abigail2
I have kept the inside very simple so have not bothered to photograph it but it is decorated, honest.

Recipe:
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with Cookies, Ticketed sentiment from The Hobby House
Papers: MME Pretty Please
Tools: Nestabilities, SU 1/4" round punch, SU slit punch, medium retro punch
Embellies: American Crafts ribbon, spacers, brads from The Hobby House
