We have one of my favourite mediums as this weeks challenge on Whiff of Joy - paper piecing. It's so quick and easy to do and cuts down on the colouring too lol.
This card is part of a set that I am doing for The Hobby House, so you will see a couple more Whiff of Joy cards with these papers in the next few days (I need to have them ready for the weekend, as well as some others that's why I'm so quiet lol). Love the greys, they are a perfect match for the Twinklets that I love to cover the acetate snowflakes with.
I forgot all about little Herb - too cute and such a breeze to colour too, even easier with the paper piecing. All I did was stamp the image on to watercolour paper, brush the lightest wash of broken china and weathered wood distress inks over for a bit of shading, then stamped the image out on to the DP and cut out the bits I wanted to paper piece, adhered these in place with 1mm thick foam pads and highlighted a few bits with a red sparkly Sakura pen then added a bit of Glamour Dust for some sparkle. I think you can see on this pic how his hat is slightly raised.
I kept the layout nice and simple so little Herb could take centre stage.
Make sure you check out the challenge blog, we are looking to add to our Design Team – we are looking for 4 – 5 additional DT members so make sure you enter the challenge this week if you’re interested in joining us.
