Firstly I would like to thank you all so very much for the kindness shown this past few days - I am overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of so many that I am honoured to call my friends. I still cry every time I look at Rosie's photo, and tonight dished her food up with all the rest and actually called for her! That hurt when I realised she wasn't going to come toddling along with the ever waggy tail. I know it will get easier to accept but right now it hurts so darn much.
Also I would like to apologise for not getting round to visiting your blogs and leaving comments - I will get round to it, promise.
Now to the card - I actually made one last night although my heart still isn't in it. My mojo has gone on a round the world cruise I think!! I’m combining three challenges with this card: Colour Create - blue and brown, A Spoonful of Sugar - Tearing (ouch that hurt lol) and ABC - distressing. (It was very distressing to tear the paper lol). I received a huge parcel from Jill at The Hobby House yesterday (thanks sooo much honey xxx) and in there, amongst all the delish Martha Stewart punches, was a fabulous EK Success Flourish punch which I was determined to use on this card – isn’t it just FAB!! I needed a Tena when I opened the parcel I can assure you lol. I’m not sure if Jill has them on the website yet so if you fancy one and don’t see them on the website then drop Jill and email and she’ll get back to you. Update!! Jill has them on her website for pre-order for those that are interested.
I have used the delish K&Co papers again - I really love this set of papers, just my kind of colours. I even managed to TEAR!! Okay it's just a little piece (that was all I could bring myself to do lol) and have probably defeated the object 'cos it's mostly covered with the ribbon that I used to lace through the card. I threaded the ribbon through eyelets, the ribbon should have been thinner I think, might show the tearing off a bit more. A close up of the lacing.
The inside - don't like it and will probably remove the white mat and start again. The sentiment stamp is not right - too big and doesn't suit the card and the flourish stamp ain’t right either. Serves me right for forcing myself to make a card, this is definitely one of those cards that is going to land up in the bin I think.
Recipe:
Gorjuss image coloured with distress inks and H2O's, sentiments Papermania (new ones out) and the scroll/flourish on the insert is from a HOTP set
Papers are K&Co
Flowers are Prima and some from Crafts U Love and the flourishes are punched with an EK Success Flourish punch that I got from The Hobby House

Hi Bev, happy to see you crafting. Your card is gorgeous as always. I love the browns and blues. Fabulous detail with the torn area and ribbons. So sorry about Rosie again hun. It is hard, but it will get easier. We had to put down our cat over the summer and it took me a while to get over it. They are such a part of everyday life it's hard to think they won't be there anymore. But, I promise it gets easier and just keep reminding yourself that she is not suffering or in pain. Still breaks your heart though, I know. Sending big hugs your way. {{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteOh Bev, I'm really sorry to hear about Rosie. I know how much she must have meant to you. We went through it a few years ago, and it's still painful to think about,so I do understand. Hi Bev, there's a little child inside every dog, that's why we love 'em so much, and it hurts when they are no longer here. I missed my Sammy too, especially when I came home from work late at night, and everyone else was in bed, he was still there wagging his tail pleased to see me. It takes a while, you have to work your way through it day by day.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely, and shouldn't go in the bin, definately not. I love it. I love the lacing technique too, I've done it on some of my creations, it looks fab. Love the colours.
