Whiff of Joy Project of the month and one for Mojo Monday

I missed out on last week's Mojo Monday challenge - too much to do lol. So I made sure I got a card done with this weeks challenge. I have tried to take a photo of the inside but they are all coming out blurred argh!!
Stamps: Whiff of Joy King's Jester Charlie and Party Sentiments
Colouring medium: Distress inks and H2O's
Papers: Basic Grey Boxer
Tools: McGill Fancy Squares punches (that the lovely Jill got me, thanks hun xxx)

The theme for this month's project is to make an Easter gift. So, I decided to make something for Ben and Amy (no surprises there then).
Both projects were so quick and easy to make, which is just as well with what I had to get done last week.
I have not done a step by step this month as I have used the templates from two very clever ladies who have the instructions on their blogs for you to follow. The Octagon Basket Template can be found here, and the Carrot Box (too cute!!) can be found here. Thanks so much for sharing your templates with us ladies.

Stamp: Whiff of Joy Chickie, Papers: Stampin Up
Tools: Martha Stewart Mini Hearts punch, Circle and scalloped circle Nestibilities, Quickutz alphabet dies
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Tulle, Brads and spacers

Penny Black Saturday - Spring, and a big thank you

I didn't manage to get a card made yesterday, I was so whacked when I got in I just cabbaged out and did nowt all evening. I've managed to get a card made tonight, I love working with Penny Blacks, you're always sure of a cute, quick and easy card. I’ve used these new Dovecraft papers that I picked up last week, how perfect for spring, which is the challenge at Penny Black Saturday

Phew, what a fab but hectic weekend I had. I think I can safely say The Hobby House was a resounding success, Jill was anchored to the floor in front of the till for two days - poor soul didn't even get to the loo as the queue was never ending, thanks ladies for your patience in waiting in the long queues. The stash she took was delish! I was in Prima flowers paradise lol. She also had all the new Kaiserkraft papers in and the clear stamp sets - oooh! I didn't know which pack to stroke first lol. I'm biased I know but I think our stall was THE best at the show, the stash on offer was so different to what everyone else was offering and it was a delight to see new and fresh things for a change.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies that took the time to stop by and say hello, I wish I had more time to chat with you all. I really appreciated your support xxxx

Jill, this might have been your first show hun, but you ROCKED!! Loved it and can’t wait for the next one.

The only disappointment to the weekend was the Copics workshop - umm what workshop? I left there after a hour feeling sorely aggrieved as I was none the wiser and £10 lighter! I was so disappointed but pleased in a way as I saved myself an awful lot of money - that workshop put me off Copics sadly. Although a little angel - Maddi - flew in to my rescue and is going to show Marcea, Linda and I what a real workshop is lol. Looking forward to that honey

Stamps: Penny Black Bunny Bath and Fiskars Clear Stamps Cameo Ovations (also from The Hobby House but not yet on the web)
Papers: Dovecraft Wild Blossom (love these)
Embellishments: Delish new spacers and dragonfly charm from The Hobby House - wait till you see what Jill has to go on the web, drool worthy lol)

I am really looking forward to it but am starting to get rather nervous now that it's less than 24 hours away lol. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of my bloggy buddies tomorrow, so please drop by The Hobby House's stand and say hello.
What a fab sketch there is this week on Friday Sketchers, loved working with it. My new Labels 3 & 4 Nestibilities arrived this morning from The Hobby House and I couldn't wait to break the pack open and use one of them.

Whiff of Joy challenge 23 - a sketch

First thanks so much to all you wonderful people who left comments, sent emails and phoned me yesterday - you will never know just how much your kindness and thoughtfulness means xxxx

Secondly, Donalda has done a brilliant sketch for the Whiff of Joy challenge this week, perfect for using up all those scraps that we can't bring ourselves to bin, we've all got them haven't we. For me the thought of throwing away a useable piece (that's questionable!!) of BG paper fills me with horror so felt quite pleased with myself this weekend when I managed to eke out these delish Stella Ruby papers.
woj-cookies-donalda-sketch1 The inside - have left it fairly plain so lots of room to write my message :)

Stamps: Willow with cookies and General Sayings sentiments from Whiff of Joy
Papers: Basic Grey Stella Ruby
Flowers: Prima from The Hobby House
Spacers and Brads: From stash although Jill stocks the brads and should hopefully have huge stocks in of all the spacers that I use - yippee!!
Tools: Wizard Labels Nestibilities from The Hobby House, EK Success Flourish Punch also from The Hobby House

Giddy up for Papertake Weekly, and Basil

sugar-nellie-giddy-up1 This card has taken me ages to make, yet it's such a fab sketch by the fabulously talented Dawny for Papertake Weekly. This is the first time this cute little stamp has seen ink - can you believe it!! Jill from The Hobby House sent me these fab screw head brads which I have been itching to use and I think they work brill with the card, not too masculine with the flowers (I hope!!). The papers are out of my scraps drawer - I wish I knew who the maker was, can't remember where or when I got them (I'm hopeless)
Another view of the card, I've not got one of the inside - the light was so bad that I could not get a decent pic even with the light tent.
I also mentioned yesterday that it was a horrible day, today is not much better. Yesterday I took Basil (my old boy) to the vet as he had not been well for a few weeks. When I took him to the vet 2 weeks ago he diagnosed a bad back but no way was my old man so poorly from a bad back. Anyway to cut a long story short he was diagnosed with the untreatable strain of Cushings Disease and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to have him put to sleep. My heart says he wasn't ready but my head would not let him suffer any longer. He was my first cavalier and the beginning of my love affair with the breed. Sleep tight my little man, mammy misses you so much xxxxx.  This year sucks and I wish it was over!!
Stamp: Sugar Nelllie Giddy Up
Papers: I wish I knew!
Ribbon: The Papermill Shop
Brads: The Hobby House
Flowers: The Hobby House

Friday Sketchers and Stamp Something

I didn't think I was going to get this card posted today, it's been a horrible horrible day, but for what it's worth here it is. woj-umbrella-fri-sketch-2

I've used this weeks Friday Sketchers sketch and gone with the spring theme that is this weeks Stamp Something challenge. I hadn't put the Bo Bunny papers away that I was using on my last card (so lazy) and love them so much decided to use them again. I have added Glamour Dust to the rain drops and IRL it's realy sparkly and does not look the mess it does in the photo.
The inside - I couldn't bring myself to cut any more of the papers so really eked out the scraps.
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with Umbrella, Fall Grass and Sentiments & Swirls collection, Stampin Up Happy Everything
Colouring medium: Distress Inks and H2O's
Papers: All Bo Bunny Sweetie Pie range
Tools: Martha Stewart border punch and retro flower punch from The Hobby House
Embellishments - all from stash

You all know that the new Guardian Angels are to be released on Sunday - if you don't then where have you been!! And once again Katharina has been so generous with the DT and given us all some candy to give away.

I was so excited when I saw my candy - I have got Melinda with bouquet AND the adorably cute snail to give away. You can see coloured examples of Melinda here and the snail here

So, together with the adorable Whiff of Joy images, I am also giving away:
A selection of the large spacers that I use, 3 different types in two sizes, some small spacers ideal for the little brads
Around a dozen crochet flowers (more if I get time to make some more) - this is mix of daisies and roses in a selection of colours
Pearl ribbon sliders and Kaiser sticky pearls
Pearl and crystal hat pins (you can just see the crystal pins in the bottom right corner of the pic)
Strawberry charms
K & Co McKenna pad (my favourite!!!)
Papermania Simply Elegant pad (my second favourite lol)

All you need to do is link my candy on your blog and leave a comment here when you have done so. I will draw the winner using a random generator on Sunday 22nd March. Get in Shape - Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge

The challenge this week is to get in shape (I wish lol) - made a shaped card or project -- no squares or rectangles. The DT have come up with some beauties this week so I hope you will go take a peek.
This week had me stumped (says she who loves round cards as I always seem to resort to doing them when faced with a shaped card - very much in my comfort zone lol) so a tried something different, but the round is still there. I used a dinner plate to get the 1/4 circle shape, punched out lots of 3/4" circles and used these to make the scallop along the edge of the card. I've just realised I didn't use a single flower, spacer or charm - I must be ill lol!!!
magnolia-tilda-shape-chall3The inside, I used some more of the delish Bo Bunny papers that Jill sent me to play with. I stamped a border of butterflies from the Magnolia Spring Club Kit along the curve - then on the very last one went and got a blob of black ink ARGH!! Hence the crystals - phew it hid the mess!! The heart is punched with a 3" Woodware heart punch (cos I don't have any heart nesties - this must be the only nesties I don't have, best remedy that at Harrogate next week lol) and stamped out some of the butterflies from the kit which I raised with a blob of silicone glue to give a bit of dimension
A close up of the butterfly on the front of the card, also raised with some silicone.

Stamps:  Magnolia Spring Kit, Papermania sentiment
Colouring medium: Distress inks and H2O's
Papers: Bo Bunny Sweetie Pie Range from The Hobby House, cardstock Stampin Up
Embellishments - Tulle from The Hobby House, flashbacked crystals from stash

Cute Card Thursday - oh dear

And Oh Dear it is lol!! I really really really struggled with this weeks CCT recipe challenge, 2 papers and 4 embellishments, with me being the more is more kinda girl. I ended up making two cards for the challenge, the first card just was not going to work with only four embellishments. Not that I think the second card does either and since photographing it I've pulled the corner embellie off and replaced that with flourish punches, leaves for the flower and lots of pearls - aaahhh, I feel better now rofl.

Here's the second card - I have not used Willow with Hot Chocolate for ages and it's such a shame - it's such a fab stamp. The flower is made the same as the lace flower off the last card I made, I gathered up a piece of organza ribbon, joined the seams and popped a mulberry rose in the centre. The corner I did by punching a 2" scallop square then put this into the corner punch, lined up the scallops from the underneath and punched out the corner - and voila, a scalloped corner.

Stamps: Whiff of Joy Willow with Hot Chocolate and Whiff of Joy General Sentiments
Colouring medium: Distress inks and H2O's
Paper: K&Co Classic K Bailey 6 x 6 pad from The Hobby House
Embellishments: Organza ribbon and self adhesive pearls, mulberry flower
Tools: Fiskars Apron Lace punch, from The Hobby House, oval and round Nestibilities, 1 1.4" round punch and corner punch - both Stampin Up, white gel pen

And now for the card that wasn't lol.
I dug out another oldie but goodie, 007 Charlie is just the best for men's cards!! As I said this was originally made for this weeks CCT challenge but looked too bare, even with the busy paper/. So I added the Zooms and the HOTP button brads oh and a punched corner and am much happier with it now.
Stamps: Whiff of Joy Charlie 007 and Whiff of Joy cheers sentiment
Colouring medium: Distress inks and H2O's
Papers: HOTP (from a QVC TSV yonks ago)
Embellishments: Zoomz from Stamp Galaxy, brads (HOTP - same TSV kit)
Tools: Stars die - Sizzix, Stampin Up corner punch, white gel pen

I also received this award from Joey and Shirley, thanks sweeties. I know I am very naughty in no passing the award on that I receive, at the mo I just don’t have the time to spare but this one is so special that I would like to award it to all the wonderful people that take the time to visit and comment on my blog, so please help yourself if you don’t already have it xxx

A combo for a Spoonful of Sugar and Sketch & Stash

I think I'm getting caught up (think being the operative word here lol). I hope to be able to start blog hopping again tonight, I've missed visiting my favourite blogs this week.

I've managed to get a DT card made and have combined two challenges again, ASOS challenge is gems - I've gone with pearls (for a change - not!!) and have followed the fab sketch on Sketch and Stash this week although I have gone overboard with the flowers lol. I have used this beautiful image from the new Whiff of Joy release - don't forget the new stamps go on sale on Sunday 22nd March at 0:00 +1 GMT. I have used these beautiful papers - called Exquisite (and Exquisite they are - thanks Karen xx) - the soft pink and peach shades are so perfect for this sweet image.

I made the lace flower by stitching a piece of lace then pulling it tight into a circle and stitching the edges together and popped a rose in the centre.
Lots of MSBP punching going on here lol - the inside is just layers of the left-over papers - still got to decide what I am doing for the sentiment.  I just wish I could work out why, although all the photos are taken one after the other with no changes in lighting or position, this one has come out a completely different colour to the rest!  Bizarre!!
Stamps - Whiff of Joy (new release) image, sentiment is Whiff of Joy General Sayings
Paper - Papermania Exquisite paper collection
Flowers - From the lovely Tina - thanks so much sweetie xxx
Flourishes - EK Success Flourish punch available to pre-order
