Sketch Saturday - WOJ Party Animals and Magnolia/Stampavie Gift Challenge

Have you seen the fab sketch on Sketch Saturday this week, it's another of Jo's amazing sketches. I had been working with these Basic Grey papers yesterday for another project I am busy with, so as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do (do you just love it when that happens!!)

I used Crevan and Todd, Celebrating Foxes from Whiff of Joy I think the dark colours of the foxes look great with the aquas and greens of the paper. I have coloured the image with Distress Inks and H2O's and have once again used the fab raffia ribbon from Rach. I also used the Twinklets that Rach shared with me on the flower, which I punched out of acetate with a Retro Flower punch, so you see, Twinklets are not only for Xmas lol. The sentiment stamp is from Clever Cut. The green card is Certainly Celery by Stampin Up and the papers are all Basic Grey Urban Prairie.

I've left the inside quite plain again, just carried the paper from the front through the card.

Here's a couple of close ups of the flower. I sliced some very thin Certainly Celery card to make the twirlies to go behind the flower

Magnlia vs Stampavie Gift Challenge

This weeks challenge is to make a gift for someone so as I've not done a candle for ages I thought I would do one again.

This time I coloured the image with Prismacolors and Sansodor instead of the Distress Inks that I used last time and much prefer the look, the colour is much richer (and it's soooo much quicker too).

I punched the borders with a Martha Stewart Lattice Arch punch and finished it off with a couple of Prima flowers, some gold spacers and a paper rose.

I received this award from Sue - thanks so much sweetie, I will pass it on sometime this week xxx

Thanks for looking,

  10. WOW - love the colours and papers, and the flowers are sensational.
I have to laugh when I see your use of raffia ribbon - I've had some for ages (3 years I think) but can never get it to do what I want it to. It's getting shorter and shorter but none has actually ended up on a card - YET - she says hopefully.

  28. So beautifully-cute! That flower is beautiful!!! And I really enjoy seeing the WOJ party animal cards! I'm trying to learn some coloring techniques from you...like the lighter shading around the corners of the dogs mouth. Sometimes I feel like I'm still coloring as in grade school!!! But I'll get there, everyone started at the beginning, right?! Thanks for the inspiration!!
