As this is the last challenge for the year, the challenge will stay open till the first week in January when the first challenge for the new year will begin - so you have LOADS of time to do this challenge girlies, lol.
This weeks challenge is to make a Contemporary Christmas card - no Red or Green and I've gone for something completely different for me. I've had the silvery papers for a while and never quite knew what I was going to do with them till I was visiting the mega talented Jacqueline of Creja Karten's blog, who has the most amazing cards!! I emailed her to ask her if it would be okay to use this card as my inspiration and she very kindly agreed.
The base layer of the card is glitter card, it's not showing up too well in the pics but is much more sparkly IRL. I made another "ticket" from the sentiment stamps from Whiff of Joy by stamping the 3 lines of text using a Stamp-a-majig (Stampin Up) then cutting this into a rectangle and punching two 1/2 holes on either end with a Stampin Up 1/4" punch. I adore the Whiff of Joy sentiments, the fonts are so beautiful.
A close up of Lizzie, she's coloured with the usual distress inks and H2O's, with a touch of glitter to her muff and boots (a girls' gotta have bling lol). I used a small Studio G scroll stamp and Brilliance Starlight Silver ink to edge the oval that Lizzie is stood on.
The large snowflake is cut with a Cuttlebug die out of acetate and I've added Diamond Dust from Rach (thanks sweetie - I just love this stuff) and LOVE the effect of the clear diamond dust on the acetate - it really looks icy and has so much texture IRL.
I really enjoyed making this card, it's great to do something completely different and I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.
