Cute Card Thursday & Papertake Weekly Challenges

I had a bit of 'me' time last night and managed to get a card made. Thought it would fit with the CCT 16 and PTW challenges this week.

The CCT challenge is no designer paper - Shock!! Horror!! Hot flushes and sweats!! But it got me to dig out my Stampin Up wheels and must admit I thoroughly enjoyed making this card. I also used the inked embossiing folder technique - I think Monica's video tut is the best out there and it works every time!

The PTW challenge is another of Katharina's amazing challenges - what a joy they are to work with.

Stamps - Hanglar & Stanglar (coloured with Prismacolors), Stampin Up Jumbo Wheel
Card - Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White - all Stampin Up!
Ink - Groovy Guava and Soft Sky - Stampin Up
Flowers - Prima Esprites and Prima
Cuttlebug Sentiment
Brads, spacers from stash
Ribbon - Hobbycraft

Amy is home!!

Just a quick post to say our Amy is home and is so much better - what a difference a week makes (and what a week from hell that was!!) She has a fair way to go yet with lots of hospital appointments, tests, scans, xrays, etc but the relief and joy at having her back home where she belongs far outweighs this! So thanks once again to you all for your thoughts, prayers, messages, cards and gifts - I am still overwhelmed by you all!

Thank you so much

To each and every one of you wonderful people that have emailed, messaged and sent cards, I am more than touched at your caring.

Baby Amy is holding her own. They have found out what is wrong with her, she has E Coli (we believe either from her mam not being treated with antibiotics against GSB (Group Strep B) even though the hosipital was aware that she is a carrier (she was treated before having her first child), and/or an infected belly button which was fobbed off for 6 weeks! The E Coli in infants causes Urinary Tract Infection (which Amy has), Sepsis (which they caught just in time we think although her blood is not reacting to the antibiotics as the doctors had hoped so she is now on supportive antibiotics to help the initial antibitoics). Thank God we insisted on seeing a doctor on Sunday night - I don't want to think what would have happened. A guardian angel sure was looking after our little princess.

She will be in hospital for a good few days yet, until the doctors get blood results that they are encouraged by. She will then be referred to the Freeman Hospital as they have discovered a heart murmur. She will also need kidney screening as a result of the urinary tract infection and is waiting for an appointment at yet another hospital as they are concerned about her hips. She has a long way to go yet poor little lamb, BUT!!! We got the most beautiful smile from her today - so she must be feeling a little better.

Here's a picture of Amy and Ben taken last week before she got sick.

Thank you again my friends, it means the world to me.

Ismaki Challenge 23

Not been much blogging from me this week, I've been busy helping out with my new granddaughter.

One card from me today for the Ismaki Challenge - the sketch this week is gorgeous!! There is an option to restrict the colours to 2 or 3, I've tried to keep to that but had to add an extra colour in the image - green chicks don't look right, not does yellow grass lol.

Quite a few people have asked about the "centres" of the flowers, the silver spacers are out of my beading box - called Daisy spacers, any bead stockist should carry them. I just colour them with gold Krylon if silver doesn't work with the flower I'm using.

Penny black image from my mate Jackie (thanks babes)
Cuttlebug Olivia die cut phrase
Papers, flowers, brads and spacers from stash
