It seems like ages since I made a card for a challenge and I really had to force myself to make this one too (I blame the Kindle haha).  So it’s Wild Orchid Challenge day and this week it’s Anything Goes.  And here’s my effort

Some quick money wallets

I’m still alive lol.  It’s been such a busy time but for the rest of the week it’s chillax time and I may even get some cards done.  Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.

Here’s some of the money wallets I whipped  up last weekend, they really were super-quick to make (even those with stamping on).

The first two are stamped and heat embossed using the Christmas Icons stamp sheet from Lili of the Valley.

I used red sparkle embossing powder and ultra fine gold cord on this one

bev-rochester-money-wallet3

A peek at the inside, sooo easy to make

bev-rochester-money-wallet4

Using Frantage embossing powder on this one,  I also heat embossed the die cut corners and sentiment.

And a Spellbinders snowflake slathered in Twinklets.

Told you they were quick and easy Winking smile

Quite a bright colour scheme from me today, what’s with all the COLOURS haha.   I picked them out of the My Minds Eye papers (not sure which pad it is from as I slung it in the “to be put away” basket then put them all away without making a note first.

Yep, my beloved Copics and pencils came out again for this one.

A little umbrella charm and some organza ribbon along with delish Wild Orchid Crafts flowers to finish.

Another quickie for Dies to Die For challenge

Hey!  I am so on a roll with these quick cards, this one took a few minutes longer but only because I could not decide which snowflake die to use (cue in eye roll!).  I ended up using a Spellbinders set (not a clue which one it is from though – think I have had it a while).  I also used Bazzill Timeless paper pack and a Whimsy corner die and finished it off with a Whimsy Holiday Notables 2 sentiment.  The gorgeous Gingham Rustic ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl as is the Natural Button Twine

Job done, another card crossed off the list and it fits this months Dies to Die For Challenge.

Following on from yesterday …. and a winner

Here’s card style number 2.  Again the products used are the same as yesterday’s card, the paper pad is Basic Grey Aspen Frost, the stamps I used are Whimsy Stamps, when I ran out of the paper patterns I had been using I just switched them for something similar from the pad.  Even though there is colouring on this card it still took no longer than yesterday’s card, the stamped image is pre-shaded so minimal colour required.  Perfect!

I used The Vintage Christmas set for the candy canes stamp and added a sentiment from the Holiday Notables 2 set, and some 15mm roses and seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts, with Natural Button Twine from The Ribbon Girl.

And before I sign off the winner of the Wild Orchid Crafts £10 voucher is

#267 Debbie Johns

Congratulations Debbie, please email me to claim the voucher.  Please put WOC£10 in the subject line.

10 minute cards

I woke up yesterday morning and realised that I did not have anywhere near enough Christmas cards made (I live under that rock remember, it’s called Bev’s Denial hahaha).  So, after doing a quick whip round the house with duster and hoover I was on a mission to get a heap of cards done.  I managed 20 in just over 3 hours, making two different styles using only the one paper pad with minimum stamping.  Quite pleased with myself, seeing as the mojo has gone in a huff again because I have been paying way too much attention to my Kindle. (edited to add – card blanks were already pre-cut and scored and the flowers were already pulled apart so all I had to do was cut the card and papers, then the die cutting then spray and assemble the flowers.  It was all done like a factory assembly line.  The things we have to do hey?  Not my ideal way of making cards, I hate duplicating cards but needs must).

The paper pad is Basic Grey Aspen Frost, the stamps I used are Whimsy Stamps – I just used sentiments from the Tis the Season Nobables 5.  The poinsettia is from Wild Orchid Crafts, I pulled it apart, spritzed it with a watered down mix of Aged Mahogany Distress Stain and put it back together with a spacer and pearl brad.  A couple of die cut corners, a bit of ribbon and job done.  They are just A6 cards but great for a girl on a mission lol.  I will post a pic of the second style (with a bit of stamping and colouring) tomorrow.

My big snowball

Sorry I have been MIA, been crazy busy trying to get through the hundreds of books I have on my Kindle (in-between getting Christmas stuff out of the way.)  Most of the presents are bought and wrapped, just have the last 3 or 4 things to buy on the weekend then I am done.  So I have not had time to make any new cards this past week but have a last magazine card to share that was made for Making Cards magazine for LOTV.  This is another of those “cards for a child” so no flowers and light on the embellishments with texture if possible.

The stamp is My Big Snowball from Lili of the Valley and I have used a sentiment from the Christmas Grungy Messages sentiment sheet.

The texture is the snowflakes which I coated in Twinklets then fixed buttons on.  I also edged the sentiment with the Twinklets.

Christmas Friendship

Today is Wild Orchid Challenge day and this time the challenge is Christmas Friendship.  Well little Berry and her kitty look like firm friends to me.

bev-rochester-whimsy-berries1

The paper is from the Best Creations Merry Christmas Kit (as yesterday’s card).  The lace and ribbon is from my stash.  The flowers are 40mm wild rose, cherry blossoms, 15mm roses and I also added a metal corner, all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The stamp is by Whimsy StampsBerry as is the sentiment from the Snowflake Mini Letter Seals set.
