Weekly Candy–something a bit different :)

I am so excited to give this candy away!  Since I started using the stand that I picked up in the USA to photograph my cards on, I have been inundated with emails about it.  Well,  Ta Daaaaa, my lovely lovely friend in the USA has come up trumps (again xxxx) and has sent me a couple to give away.  I was so tempted to keep this one for myself, I have fallen in love with it but I already have a stand so can’t be greedy.  Thank you so much sweetie for your constant generosity and thoughtfulness xxx

I have added my favourite Tilda stamp to the candy (also courtesy of my USA benefactor!) and will draw a winner on Monday night.  I will give the other one away soon!!

A fab give away for you!

3M asked me if I would do a review on their brilliant 3M Pink Advanced Tape Glider.  I have already done one so have one that I use constantly so I offered to do a give away of a second tape runner instead.  They kindly agreed so up for grabs is one of these brilliant babies!  The box is still sealed – I just popped mine in the picture so you can see it in all it’s glory.  Along with the tape glider is a couple of extra rolls of tape.

I have an ATG gun that I do not get on very well with, trying to get the tape threaded is a total nightmare, not so with the 3M Pink Advanced Tape GliderIt’s a doddle to get going.  The tape is nice and narrow and is strong enough to hold ribbon and lace in place at the back of the card and holds it in place as well as the strong tapes out there, just so much quicker and easier.

3m

As always I will post worldwide so if you fancy your chances pop your name in the linky below and I will draw a winner tomorrow night.  This means that the regular early Saturday candy will go up tomorrow night and run till Monday and I will draw a winner then.  Oh and tomorrow’s candy is awesome too – thanks to an amazing lady that scoured the USA for me Winking smile

Just Magnolia–Add a banner and flooding!

This weeks Just Magnolia is hosted by the lovely Suzan and she has set the challenge to add a banner.  Out came the Whimsy dies and stamps for this one.

Coloured with distress inks and markers.  Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye and a mix of barn door and tattered rose for the cheeks; Hair (markers only) – I dotted antique linen, walnut stain and vintage photo in places for texture; pinks – I mixed spun sugar, victorian velvet and the new raspberry limited edition to get the pink shade I wanted then went over with weathered wood to deepen the shadows.

And now for our drama (yes this week really can’t get any better!!), thank goodness it’s nearly over ….I really don’t want another like this.  The torrential rain we had here yesterday caused such terrible flood damage.  Thankfully we were okay (just by about a half an inch!!) but my friend and her neighbours were not so lucky.  The flood waters were over the top of our wellies in places and quite a few flooded houses too. This is one of the neighbours houses, bless they had just had new carpets fitted last week, and now all is under water.  We spent most of last night baling out water, OMG I didn’t think so much rain could fall in such a short time!

Three little bears

First up I just want to thank you all for your lovely, thoughtful comments and emails – I really am overwhelmed by the love shown.  I think we are still shell shocked, I know I can’t take it in and called Sidney in for his tea tonight Sad smile

My son, who loves the dogs but has always been adamant he would never have one (too tying, too much responsibility, etc) said the sweetest thing yesterday.  He would only ever have a Sidney, he was the perfect little doggie.   Sidders, no-one will ever fill your paws xxx.  Okay get a grip Bev, enough being maudlin!

Today’s card is a happy card, one I made about a month ago so don’t have much of the details for you, sorry.  The gingham is one I made (link to the freebies in my side bar) and the floral paper is from my scrap box (Karen Neuberg springs to mind).  The sweet little stamp is Present Trio from Lili of the Valley’s latest release.  Instead of cutting and mounting the three images separately I stamped them on to a rectangle.  Quite like the effect.

Bev-Rochester-lotv-summer-bears-7

The image was coloured with copics and pencils.  I used E43, 42, 41, 40 for the bears and R83, 81, RV000 for the presents.  The flowers and satin ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Lili of the Valley mini blog hop winner

I am so sorry!  It's been a dreadful couple of weeks and I clean forgot to draw a winner for the LOTV mini blog hop!!

So ...... Mel can you please email  me your address so we can send your surprise off to you, my blog was one prize stops and you have won something from Wild Orchid Crafts!

Something different

I have something a little different today.  I was sent a DT kit from Marianne Designs which pushed me right out of my comfort zone but after the day I had yesterday it was good to be able to switch off.

bev-rochester-marianne-design-dress-form-cs0857

The Dress Form stamp and perfume label stamp are from the CS0857 stamp set – from their new release I think.  The paper is also from Marianne Design – Birds and Flowers stack and the ticket die is CR1212 also by Marianne Design.  The sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley’s Vintage Sentiments – Occasions.

The flowers (small gardenia, 20mm roses, 15mm roses, 4mm rose buds), seam binding (which I gathered by pulling the centre strands) and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

bev-rochester-marianne-design-dress-form-cs0857-1

As I said before, yesterday was not a good day.  I got home from work and had to dash out to the post office to collect a parcel.  When I got home Tony was waiting at the door for me …. I KNEW there was something wrong and said Roxy!  She’s my old lady and has gotten rather doddery lately.  To my absolute shock and horror he said Sidney!!  My little man was in the garden and Tony had gone to call hiim in.  He was lying in the garden bed and as Tony bent to stroke him Sidney drew his last breath and died.  My little man was only 7 and was a little blessing.  The vet thinks it was heart failure.  We rescued him 15 months ago and like to think that we made up for the neglect he suffered before then.  He sure waltzed into this house, took over his little harem and left paw prints on all our hearts.

Run free at the bridge mammy’s little man, go fetch that ball for me xxxxxx

Here he is with one of his toys, in 7th heaven bless him

Sunny Days and Smiles

Did you get your bears from Lili of the Valley yet?  I’ve another one to share today, and it’s purple!  Bev get a grip girl, so many purple cards done in the last couple of weeks lol.  I’ve even redone my bedroom out in Damson and Ivory, this is the girl that don’t like purples lol.  So contrary!

Sunny Days and Smiles has been coloured with Copics and pencils, I coloured this one oh about a month ago so have no idea what colours I used, sorry.  And of course buttons for brains here used the sentiment from Fun Birthday instead of the one that accompanies the stamp.  I tell ya if this head was not fixed on my shoulders ….. well I shudder to think the bother I would get myself in to.

bev-rochester-lotv-summer-bears3

The papers are from my scrap pile – K&Co and Blonde Moments spring to mind.  Gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Craftstrellis rose, cherry blossoms, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, sweetheart blossoms and 4mm rose buds along with delish purple seam binding and a pink button threaded with divine twine and job done.

For my card today I have used Fluffy hanging in there by Sylvia Zet for Whimsy Stamps along with the fab Raindrop Echo Designs rubber stamp sets Definitions Notables 4 and matching Die – again!  I really love this set, I can see me wearing it out lol.

The exquisite papers are Nitwit Collections newest kit, Petal Fresh.  I was salivating trying to decide which papers to use first lol.

bev-rochester-wee-fluffy-hanging-in-there1

For the inside I opened up the floral paper in Photoshop, deleted the centre square to leave a nice space for the sentiment and I printed off one of the elements from the Lil Bits pack and die cut then popped it onto a scalloped circle.  No layering, no faffing – easy peasy lemon squeezy Smile

Bobbing on by

A super quick post from me again today, I am slowly starting to make inroads into the DT work I have been busy with … nearly halfway there.

The new Lili of the Valley release goes on sale at midnight, this week has flown by!  There are 8 stamps, some have accompanying sentiments and there is also a sheet of companion stamps that work so well with these cuties.  Some of the DT have done amazing samples on the Ideas to Inspire blog, and don’t forget the Facebook competition (see the post below for the details).

So this little cutie is called Bobbing on by, and the sentiment comes with the stamp.  I have used Nitwits papers, and a Loopy Circle Doily from Crafty Sentiments.  The rhinestones and Jute Ribbon that I painted with white gesso.  The little die cut anchor is by Marianne Designs (from their new release I think).  I inked the edges with Walnut Stain to make it pop a bit.

I will be back later this afternoon with another Whimsy Stamps sneak peek

Red, white and blue for Saturated Canary

I’m back with my card for this week’s Saturated Canary Challenge.  The challenge this time is red, white and blue.  I sturggled with this one, RWB is not a colour combo I would usually use.  So my “blue” is more a grey/aqua lol.

Bev-rochester-saturated-canary-queen-of-hearts

I dug out these uber old Cosmo Cricket papers, I bought 10 of each sheet when they came out I loved them so much lol.  Then put them away because I could not cut into them – so silly!  So I am slowly making inroads into my huge paper stash although if I lived to be 200 I would never get it all used up!  What is it with us crafters and paper hoarding??!!??

I have coloured Queen of Hearts with copics and pencils, although I have managed to source some watercolour paper that will go through my printer, so need to make time to experiment with setting the ink so it does not run when I try and watercolour.

Bev-rochester-saturated-canary-queen-of-hearts1

A quick peek at the tag then I must dash, still beavering away behind the scenes.  The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Girlie Grunge Labels.  I inked up the die cut before removing it from the die so the sentiment would pop.

The gold “curls” in the flowers are just bits of metallic cord that I have glued in amongst the flowers.

Candy Time

My card for the Saturated Canary challenge will not be going up until 4 this afternoon so I thought I would offer some candy in the meantime

Up for grabs is an A5 set of Kanban Farmyard clear stamps.

Blooming Lovely

I’ve another quick sneak peek today, famous last words about getting loads done last night, I went to bed with another migraine instead.  That’s the third in a week and two ocular migraines as well, I am totally and utterly fed up with them.

Anyhow, enough moaning, on to my sneak peek – Blooming Lovely from the new Lili of the Valley release that goes on sale on the 25th.

bev-rochester-lotv-summer-bears4

I love these Echo Park papers – these are from the Echo Park Mini Theme Kit – Happy Spring.  Teamed with some teal Bazzill cardstock which just seems to make everything pop.

I stamped the accompanying sentiment and cut out into an oval shape to fit on the Spellbinders labels die.  The little border die is Crealies .

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts: Chrysanthemum, 25mm hybrid tea rose, 15mm roses.  The little silver pearls are from my very old stash and I pulled the centre out of the Chrysanth and popped a big pearl brad in the centre.

bev-rochester-lotv-summer-bears4a

Keep an eye on the Ideas to Inspire blog as the DT will be updating it daily with new sneak peeks.
