Wee Hazel

The theme for this months Die-ing for a challenge is Halloween.  So it really was a struggle – no mojo and I don’t “do” Halloween, sorry but I just don’t get it.  Which is why my dismal effort is as far removed from Halloween as what it could be.  Thank goodness for this super cute Wee stamp Hazel to the rescue so I could join in with the challenge.

And for my non-Halloween Halloween card I used Pink Paislee London Market papers. I coloured with copics and pencils and used warm greys instead of cool.  Love the totally different look it gives.

And of course I had to squeeze some of the delish new goodie in at Wild Orchid  Crafts – the Cream Rose Cabochons, new colour cosmos daisies, plus old favourites – cottage rose, 20mm roses, 10mm roses, organza ribbon and diamante slider buckle.  Man I love those rose cabochons, soooo pretty!

  19. Hi, I don't do Halloween either, it's not really an Aussie thing although it is being pushed more and more commercially. This card is the perfect non Halloween card, my favorite colour tones and as always the flowers are delicious!

  20. I'm not a Halloween fan either Bev so you might be starting a fashion in "Pretty Halloween". No disrespect to our American cousins, but let's just keep the tradition across the pond!! Love from Christine x

  39. Beautful card, Bev! 'Wish you were in Florida here for the last week of the month so you could experience what a US Halloween was like. I think the reason so many people love it is because it is a no-hassle holiday. Lots of people decorate, the little kiddo's come ringing at the door for treats, and it's fun to have parties and dress goofy and gorey. It's fun to go to the pumpin patch to pick a pumpkin, too. And so many people love fall here--even in Florida where some say we don't have a change of seasons. It's a very cozy time of year to bake, cook in the crockpot, take strolls, do yardwork, have firepits, and drink hot chocolate. It's just a bummer that Halloween is in the middle of the week this year... but we'll still make the most of it. I will send you a pic of our decorating once we have it all together outside. We usually do a spooky graveyard with tombstones and skeletons and pumpkins. It's fun!!!
