Hand me downs

I know it’s not that long since I coloured up this sweetie but she really is my favourite Saturated Canary image, and I coloured her up on Saturday whilst spending a lovely time doing a wee class with a friend.  She wanted to colour red and green, she got it lol.  And I think she will have a lot more confidence colouring with bold colours now.

We used the following copics and pencils to colour Hand Me Downs.
Hair E47, 44, 42, 40 and dark umber pencil
Skin: E11, 00, 000, 0000, R30
Beige: E44, 42, 40 and warm grey 50% pencil
Reds: R89, 37, 35, 32 and Tuscan red pencil
Green: YG67, 63, 61, G20 and olive green pencil

The papers are really really old K & Co Tulip pad.  Broke my heart using these but I had already coloured up the image and nothing else seemed to work like these do.  That’s why I much prefer making up my card first then last thing I do is colour up the image, picking out colours from the papers I have used.  SO much easier.

The sentiment is from the Touch of Elegant Furniture by Whimsy Stamps.

That gorgeous corner die is from Noor! Design.  I embellied it up a bit with some pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I also used seam binding and flowers from WOC - 40mm wild rose, cottage roses, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms and stamens.

    This card is beautiful and i love that image too, as you probably know i am DTLeader on SC YTDT and i love playing around with all my SC stamps, i fully understand where you are coming from with colouring the image before choosing the paper, i made that mistake sooo many times before i realised how much easier it is doing it the other way round, we do make things hard for ourselves dont we, lol......love this and that corner die is to DIE for!! no pun intended, its beautiful , thanks for the inspiration hun, Hugs Vick xxx

  58. Oh sweetie how truly gorgeous is this, this is one of my faves too hun.....altho my fave list of Krista's images is huge lol.

    As for the paper matching......well I work both ways tbh on the rare occasion I have nothing match its an excuse to go digi shopping lol.....ssshhh dont tell hubby lol.

  59. Really is a lovely card...love the colors. Sometimes red and green come out a little garish looking, but this is not! It is subdued enough to look beautiful. I really like the embellishments too, again, not loud and in your face.
