I am well on with Christmas cards (although they are all samples so if I do send any this year they are going to be bought ones!). The Perfect Snowman is another of the new stamps that were released by Lili of the Valley in July and I thought I would go with more masculine colours instead of the pastels (although I still have a few of those to show).
I have sneaked in some more of the new sentiments that are being released by LOTV next week. They are totally amazeballs lol. I stamped them on to the textured kraft card that I had used for the matting, quite like the effect. Love the Woolly Mittens sentiment, bet the little lad needed them after building his snowman lol.
I got a bit carried away with the Twinklets on the die cut snowflakes, the texture and shine is fab.
And a close up of the image, coloured with copics and pencils
The paper is Prima North Country and the Crochet/Velvet Centre Ribbon and both are from Dies to Die For.
Before I close off I just what to thank you for your lovely comments and emails after the post on duplicate entries. To be honest I was thinking of just stopping the candy altogether. I give it away not only because I love giving stuff away but also because my lovely sponsors are so generous with their gifts. But!! It costs me – in time and money (postage charges are outrageous, paying for the linky subscription, setting up the linky, doing the posts, drawing winners, parcelling up the prizes, etc.) and then to get pulled up because of an error really makes me want to reconsider. I am not sure if I will carry on with the weekly candy or if I will try some other way of giving back to you lovely people that come back day after day or if I will just wrap it in and chalk it up to experience! The jury is out lol.
hugs

ReplyDeleteLiefs Riet.xx
Oh dear, would be a shame for u to stop the giveaways but truly understandable after all craftings expensive enough as it is. Love this stamp and actually have the papers ( but not the stamp), have the twinklets ( everything had them on last year - acetate snowflakes, clear glue and twinklets hung in the window = stunning) so maybe go and play later.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work :0)

ReplyDeleteFabulous, love blue and brown and make a nice change for Christmas cards I think. Loving these sentiments, guess where I shall be headed for at Ally Pally. Such a shame that somebody had a duplicate entry and also that somebody pulled you up on the winner. You are so generous and I hope you don't stop the wonderful candies. xx
ReplyDeleteOh waaaaw this one is gorgeous Bev. I love love loveeeeeeeee the colors and the sentiment is so sweet. Abaut the candy ... you give us so much inspiration that you really don't need to put candy on your blog ... for me your cards are the most appreciated candy. Hugs! Mojca

ReplyDeleteI love looking at your blog Bev. I've never tried to win the candy (don't really know how to go about it because I'm useless at these sort of things) but it doesn't matter to me because just looking at your beautiful cards and the inspiration it gives me is enough. Ignore the knockers and remember all your fans.
ReplyDeleteBev, I just love your site and it is the first thing I check in the morning to see what creation you have come up with. I live in Canada and it is always there waiting for me to start my day. So very sorry about the candy giveaway. Sometimes mistakes happen and it is too bad that one of your followers made such a big deal out of it. Thank you so much for brightening my life each and every day. Cathie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card sweet creative friend:)

Sonia
This is gorgeous Bev. I love the image and perfect papers and colours.

Such a beautiful card! Love the colour combination and the snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card Bev. Always an inspiration to come to your blog. Love this beautiful snowflake today. And whether there is candy or not your followers will always be here. I know I don't come for a candy entry at all. And we don't stop and even realize the aggravation and cost in mailing out to people. I do appreciate your kindness. sending big hugs!
ReplyDeletePeggy

ReplyDeletejacqui x
Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic card Bev. Love the colours you've chosen and I've been trying to work out if that is a real button or one which you have die cut and coated with UTEE -it looks great anyhow!
ReplyDeleteBernice
BEAUTIFUL CARD,LOVE THE IMAGE AND THE COLOURS ARE FABULOUS.SUZYD X
ReplyDeleteFab card - think it's gorgeous. Can I ask what copics you used to colour the image in with as they are gorgeous for Christmas cards?? x
ReplyDeleteHi Bev, what a gorgeous card, I like the unusual colours, as you say great for a male card. This is one of the 15 new LOTV I ordered - two I left out were delivering the presents and the umbrella one although seeing cards you and Dena have done with them makes me wish I had got them now. Next time I will add them!
ReplyDeleteI have also just seen the comments about the candy (apologies for not commenting sooner - I had to rush Stripey to the vet and didn't see what happened). Its a shame you have been upset & would like to echo what everyone said - as a winner recently of your generous candy offer I was thrilled to win, but I see it as a generous extra bonus as I also visited your blog every day anyway before I started blogging & entering for the candies as I simply love looking at your cards. I think the lady who commented was thinking that the duplicate entry put the winner at an advantage, but hope maybe that her phrasing didn't come across quite how she intended it. We all appreciate how much you offer & that you use up valuable time to offer the candy in the first place so whilst it is lovely of you to offer it, we would visit anyway without. It beats me how you fit so much in, working & doing all the craft stuff you do on top. Stop waffling now, Chris!
gorgeous card, love the images
ReplyDeleteangxxxx
I love your blog your cards are always amazing, you are very generous with your time and your sharing of skills
Have just found your blog after buying 4 of the Christmas stamps including the snowman. Love the colours you have used and look forward to more inspiration.

ReplyDeleteso take care Doris
This is so cute.
ReplyDeleteOhw, what a gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteMarie-Anne
Hi Bev, another stunning Christmas card, I love it, beautiful colouring, layout and embellies. I for one will visit each day whether or not you do the candy, I was lucky to win once and am grateful for that but it's not the reason I visit you - it is for your wonderful inspiration and your amazing talent. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that you would BUY a card, Bev!!! Gosh, that thought just puts me in shock! I down right feel guilty if I buy one for someone--unless it's for someone that doesn't know that I make them--hehe. Your card is very sweet--the paper is perfect for the image. I can imagine it would get spendy sending out blog candy--maybe see if your sponsors would give you gift certificates to give out--it would be great advertising for them, too. I wouldn't get too hung up on the duplicate comment--it's only one fish in an ocean of your fans... Hugs... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just so gorgeous! Love the dsp and colors you used. Stunning!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to also say that it's too bad when 1 or 2 people mess things up for all the rest who play by the rules. I was linking up a card to some challenges today and one of them clearly said "1 card per person" and as I was scrolling through the entries I saw at least 3 names with multiple cards. Do people just not read what the rules are????
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely card again and I adore the masculine look. I get so much inspiration out of your emails and webpages, we don't really need the giveaways, but it was nice to be given the chance. Like all things, its the minority that spoil it for the majority. You just carry on doing what feels good for you, we are all behind you! Love Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteAnother Gorgeous card x

ReplyDeleteWhat, you buy cards?1? No way Hosea!
Gorgeous card, Bev! I love the blue & brown color combo. And love that sparkly snowflake.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you decide on your candy draws is fine with me. I will come here no matter what. You are one of my favorite places to visit. :) (I didn't realize that it cost you for a linky account. Wow!)
Sending big hugs across the pond!
Huggies ~
Sharron♥
A gorgeous card Bev. The colours really pop and just love the combo. The image is too cute and think this will definitely be one of my christmas purchases.

I like your card very much.Colours are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI love your cards Bev would come here to see them regardless of any free candy you inspire me so much hugssssssss
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that you inspire us so much with your Christmas cards but that they are all samples. It would cost a fortune (before considering postage) if you made cards like these for all of your family and friends though! Today's snowman card is great. The masculine colours really suit it.
ReplyDeleteOh Bev - this is beyond stunning.. one of the reasons I visit the NEC is to see your scrummy cards. I don't usually comment but I come to your blog everyday - however I wanted to say that whoever sent you the email is very petty. what you do is from the heart - never forget that as we true fans never will xxxx
ReplyDeleteA great card!
ReplyDeleteAnother whopper of a card, Bev- and I do like the bolder colours you've used. Your colouring is as amazing as always1
ReplyDeleteAliceH

ReplyDeleteHi Bev, just love this new image, sooo cute and the colours are fabby. Can't wait to see the new sentiment stamps.

Seu cartão é encantador! Amo o Natal!
ReplyDeleteabraços do Brasil
Beautiful card, love the colours, the buying Christmas cards made me smile, I try to build up a supply for Christmas to sell for Charity and to give and every year apart from family I seem to have not cards to send to friends but it is a good feeling. so making all you lovely cards gives real pleasure to lots of people Hugs Bee
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card. I adore the colours, they make such a fabulous change from the normal blues & whites for snowy scenes.
ReplyDeleteTake heart dear lady.
Hugs Linda x
A fab card, love the non traditional colors for this card and the image is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWho needs blog candy? I haven't entered any of your drawings simply because I know the cost of mailing something to the US would be crazy. I come here to see your gorgeous cards and your awesome coloring. The eye candy that I see on your blog is more than enough for this stamper. :-) Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful artwork with us!
ReplyDeleteHi Bev,
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous. I just love everything about it, makes me feel all 'Christmasy'. I love to see your cards and they give so much inspiration to me.
I feel so bad, but admit I was one of the duplicates on Monday, it took much longer than usual to come through,so if I was the cause of your stress I do so apologise.
Kind Wishes, Marjorie. x x
