The longstanding campaign aims to raise awareness of the consequences of treating dogs as gifts or toys. Every year hundreds of thousands of children plead for the latest fad or top toy on the market, only to discard them a few weeks after Christmas when the novelty wears off. Unfortunately, the same perception is also apparent with dogs. We are continually seeking to change this.
"A dog is for life, not just for Christmas".
If you agree...copy and paste this into your blog....thank you x

I couldn´t agree more to anything. I have also seen several get a dog for their kids, just for havng it put to sleep 3 months later, when noone wants to do, what´s nessecary to have a dog. I always try and tell people, who talks about getting one, if they have made them self clear, that it´s going to take as much work as getting a child, and it´ll continue with that amount of work, and not like a child get easier as they grow, cause the dog can never learn to take care of itself as a child will after some years, but they´ll continue to need us to do everything all the time it´s around, and if people isn´t ready for that, then they should probably reconsidder their decision of having a dog.

ReplyDeleteCIAO DA ALE
I agree totally.
ReplyDeleteIt should be mandatory dog license before you could get yourself a dog, then you will weed out those not suited to have a dog, and those who pass the test can enjoy theire beutiful dog
Hugs, Kaia
Well said Bev! I hate it when people buy rabbits and chicks at Easter too.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Bev! I have three Chihuahuas, all rescues, whom we love like children. Apparently there is an overwhelming amount of these dogs in Cali, probably sparked by the movies about them. Our favorite pet rescue tried to get us to take a fourth, but we know we can only handle our three for right now.
ReplyDeleteGreat campaign Bev. We have adopted two dogs from the Dogs Trust and it is heartbreaking to see how many dogs are waiting for new forever homes through no fault of their own.
ReplyDeleteHi Bev I could not agree more I've recently lost my wonderful Cocker Spaniel and one previous about 18 months ago they were both 14. We have had Spaniels for the past 30 years as I can't live without them they bring so much pleasure and don't ask for a lot in the return, I will in time get a couple more babies but there:
