Red, white and blue for Saturated Canary

I’m back with my card for this week’s Saturated Canary Challenge.  The challenge this time is red, white and blue.  I sturggled with this one, RWB is not a colour combo I would usually use.  So my “blue” is more a grey/aqua lol.

I dug out these uber old Cosmo Cricket papers, I bought 10 of each sheet when they came out I loved them so much lol.  Then put them away because I could not cut into them – so silly!  So I am slowly making inroads into my huge paper stash although if I lived to be 200 I would never get it all used up!  What is it with us crafters and paper hoarding??!!??

I have coloured Queen of Hearts with copics and pencils, although I have managed to source some watercolour paper that will go through my printer, so need to make time to experiment with setting the ink so it does not run when I try and watercolour.

A quick peek at the tag then I must dash, still beavering away behind the scenes.  The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Girlie Grunge Labels.  I inked up the die cut before removing it from the die so the sentiment would pop.

The gold “curls” in the flowers are just bits of metallic cord that I have glued in amongst the flowers.

  46. Beautiful card, I love how it came together and how that heart pulls out! As for paper hording... it's kinda like fabric hording, you buy it because you think "I like this, I'm sure that I have something that will go with this" or "If I buy this then I can match it up with something later". the only catch is that you like it so you keep it for something special, and then you think "but what if I want to use this again its out of print... what will I do"

Ok so a bit over the top but thats kinda what happens!

  55. Hi Bev
well from your beautiful card I would NEVER have known that you were out of your comfort zone. As for paper stack mountain's,I have just had an enormous sort out of mine, 3 of my Granddaughter's think Christmas has come early, as I've given them 100s (yes I did say 100s) of paper's, I've also donated some to a local care home. WHY do we feel we have to buy so much, I keep telling my self NOT to buy any more until I have used up what I already have, BUT then I see new ones come along and I JUST have to buy them lol.
    hugs
