As I don’t have a card to share today (too much giggling with my buddy last night instead of colouring!) I thought I would show you another of my “other hobby”. I made this in 2000, about 6 months after taking up the craft of egg decoration.
The carousel is made form an ostrich egg, cut and glittered with glamour dust then buried under around 50 coats of varnish (sanded inbettwen the coats) to give a smooth mirror finish that sparkles like crazy under the lights. I trimmed the egg with fine braids, gold findings and lashings of mirrors (check out the thumb print lol) and yards of swarovski crystal chain.
And then I painted and blinged up the carousel horses. I entered this in a competition (my first ever) and won a first with it along with another two eggs. When I look back at these photos I am soooo tempted to take up the hobby again (still got all the gear and it’s shouting of me lol)
Back tomorrow with a sneak peek/mini blog hop for Lili of the Valley with some fab prizes along the way, see ya then
