Bear with Parasol

What happened to the spring?  It was freezing today, had to defrost the car before setting off for work this morning.  Back to coats, gloves and scarves again – me no likey!  Today I am sharing the card I made to feature on the Letraset Blog using the sweet Tina Wenke stamp Bear with Parasol

bev-rochester-stampavie-letraset-project

I have used Promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image.

The colours I used are:
Bear: Caramel, Sandstone then flick with the Champagne Flexmarker then go back in lightly with the thin nib on the Caramel and again flick to give a fur texture to the bear.  Paw is burnt orange and ginger.
Clothing: Coral, Soft peach, blush, then coral again to deepen the folds then by using the Linen Flexmarker over the lightest parts this really gives height and movement to the folds. Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Soft Aqua then back in with Duck egg and a light touch of Ice Grey 2 and 1 to add shading and to deepen the colour then go over the lightest bits with the Soft Aqua again.

The flexmarkers really do help a lot when colouring clothing as they lighten the raised areas a lot and help the folds to "pop".  You can see the texture to the fur in the picture below.

The paper is First Edition First Edition Spring Drop, the gorgeous doily border is a Cheery Lynn Francesca border die – love it!  The sentiment is from the Tina Wenke Happy Birthday sentiment set.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and are Trellis Rose, 20mm roses, 15mm roses.  The pearls are also from WOC.

The little corner die is an old Quickutz die that has been discontinued but good news!!  Whimsy Stamps have brought out a set of 4 dies and one is similar to the one that I have been using. It’s the new Corner Die set

A quick update for all those kind people that emailed concerned about the comment in my chat box about a hospital appointment.  It went well and we are getting somewhere at last.  So fingers crossed the date for the surgery will come through soon, I don’t think Tony could manage having to wait many more months.  You are so sweet for caring Red heart

I will have another Elisabeth Bell Cottage Cuties preview and blog hop tomorrow and there are some amazing prizes so do pop back Smile

hugs

  28. Hi Bev,
firstly I apologise, I didn't realise your hubby was poorly, I hope and pray it is sorted very soon and he has a fast recovery. Please pass on my best wishes.
As to your card, what an adorable bear and you really have created a 3d effect with those folds in her apron, it's fab. It's another peach card, I think everyone is trying to tell me something (lol!). As I wrote previously I don't do peachy tones normally, but I have seen such lovely creations by you, Dena and Jacque (WOC) that I really, really must try using it now. They all look so fresh.
Take care of yourself and try not to worry too much while you both wait.
    Regards Linda
