Patchwork Angel

Are you done with your Christmas shopping and prep yet?  I’m not and am starting to panic big time.  Went into town last night to get some presents in and OMG it was soooo busy, people shoving and pushing (me no likey crowds) and after an hour my poor hubby was in such pain we had to come home.  So I managed to get 3 presents in eek!  I wish I could go to sleep end of November and wake up mid January each year and miss the whole wretched lot.  The stress of it just clean takes all the pleasure away Sad smile

Okay, so I got my bit of bah humbug off my chest lol, so on to today’s card which is another of those patchwork/paper piecing cards I did for SCPC magazine a while back.  The paper I used is from Nitwit Collections Oh the possibilities kit.  This was super easy to do, I just cut 5 equal sized pieces and stitched them on to pink backing card.  Then coloured Summer Icy Angel from Lili of the Valley and paper pieced her dress.  Job done Smile  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Drafts as is that gorgeous pink satin ribbon.  The sentiment comes with the stamp (love 2 for 1’s lol) and those sweet little ivy leaves are by Marianne Design, they are the new dies that are part of the January release.

Tonight I am hitting Asda for food shopping, I want to cry at the thought – wish I had been more organised and ordered it all on line.

hugs

  10. Hi Bev, love the images and the gorgeous colours. I will be going shopping at Tesco's either tonight or tomorrow night in my own special way....I start at the end of the store and weave my way back to the front. People can see me coming and so don't bump into me and it really seems so much quicker somehow. I may get banned from Tesco's but they ain't caught me yet!!

  11. Beautiful card Bev! Now listen chick, if it isn't done for Christmas then what the heck - my plans have gone toes up too thanks to a honking cough and cold. Am now resigned to not being all tickety boo when the Big Man in the Red Suit arrives. The main thing is to have your family around you, open some wine and choccies and party! You can get wine and chocs from the corner shop I bet ? :) Have a wonderful Christmas Bev and thanks so much for all the beautiful makes and tutorials this year. Inspirational!! Hugs, Di xx

Gorgeous card. Love the patchworking. I've never used stitching on my cards - 2012 will the time to remedy that! Went to Sainsburys at lunch time thinking I would miss the crowds over the next couple of days - I think everyone else had the same idea!!!!! Ah well, all done now. Just a couple of gifts to wrap tonight then a glass of wine whilst sitting round the fire. Ah bliss!

  22. what a sweetie. I am joining you as I still need to get presents and don't like crowds and also great part of the food shopping needs to be done. I am so behind this year, but I blame it on the good weather we had till somewhere in November, so did not get in the mood in time for X-mas and now we have to hurry so we can relax at X-mas. Happy holidays and a big hug.

  34. Hi Bev, Honey, you can shop on-line and have them ship the items directly to the recipient. Yes, it costs more, but how much did you have to spend in aspirin yesterday? I need to shop mostly on line now, because of my disability...but I think it is a smart way to go. It may be a bit late...but these are people you care enough about to send a gift. I'm sure they love you enough to wait for a gift!!

This is a beautiful card. I just love this image so much! I love to paper piece, but I forget to do it so often!

Now, don't let the rush of the Holidays get you down. This is the birth of our Savior Jesus the Christ. What better reason to smile?
