Hokey Pokey .. again

Am I glad it’s Friday, I have not recovered after being away at the NEC yet – it’s my age I’ve decided.  It takes a lot longer to bounce back  these days Smile with tongue out

Not the best of pictures, oh I hate these dark days, by the time I get in from work on an evening it’s pitch black out there so out comes that wretched light tent.  The card does not have a magenta tinge, honest.

The papers are Basic Grey Nordic Holiday from Dies to Die For. The sweet stamp Hokey Pokey by Nellie Snellen is also from Dies to Die For and has been coloured with Copics and pencils

The Wild Orchid Crafts flowers that I have used are sweetheart blossoms, 20mm roses, 30mm wild rose, 25mm hybrid tea rose and also from Wild Orchid Crafts is the Crystal Stems and the little wooden embellishment.

I used the back of the dove as the front is covered with fabric and I wanted to distress it with crackle paint, ink and glitter.  The little wooden button from my stash got the same treatment.  The satin ribbon and lace is also from WOC.  The Joy charm is another of my stash items – you have no idea the stuff I have found since moving downstairs and having a good old sort out.  And as for the stuff that has either been given away or gone in the bin ….. best leave that for another day or not even GO there Embarrassed smile

That’s all from me today, hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  I am going to attempt some Xmas shopping …..  bleurgh I want to faint at the thought of facing the shops!!!!! Then I think I will do some baking and some trial runs to fill Xmas goody boxes that I have been making, I want to make nougat (OMG I am addicted to the stuff!!), macadamia and cashew nut brittle, fudge and florentines so I need to do some recipe testing first (that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it rofl).  Well it’s nice to give hand made goodies as well as bought presents I think.

hugs

  5. Very tradional Christmas colours which I don't normally do!! But this looks so good I may have to change my mind. Well, it's a woman's prerogative isn't it? Good luck with the Christmas shopping - I certainly don't envy you one bit!

  17. Your card is absolutely AMAZING!!! The bouncing back thing is defenitely age-related but I always think "thanks for at least growing older and not being sick or worse"! With your shopping and baking schedule ahead you will take quite a while to recover from it all I guess, hang in there!!

  19. What a gorgeous card. I also believe that handmade gifts are more valuable to give than bought ones (hate X-mas shopping if I can't do it through internet - too much crowd). Have a great weekend.

  22. Gorgeous card, that paper is yummy! You're right about taking longer to bounce back... everything seems to take longer these days. We're going into summer here so our days are lengthening, but as I've reached "a certain age" I dread the heat (if only you could harness hot flushes, I could solve the world's energy crisis, lol) Thanks for sharing your lovely work, Donna

  35. Beautiful card, Bev. The image is adorable and the papers are gorgeous. I know, I hate the short daylight days too, go to work in the dark come home in the dark. We should all just hibernate like the bears and wake up in the spring when its sunny.
