I love these images from Sugar Nellie, (and also from Nellie Snellen and Pergamano who I think are all done by the same artist). Today is Wild Orchid Challenge day and this time round the challenge is “A Child’s Christmas”.
So of course out came this super cute Crystal Flake from Sugar Nellie, too stinkin’ cute for words! I used a Tim Holtz clock die behind the image which a dabbed with white paint and frosted lace stickles to give a wintery feel to the card. The sentiments on the card are from Lili of the Valley – Grunge Christmas Postmarks, and the sentiment on the basket is from Crafty Sentiments.
And I was having such fun with these colours and papers (Magnolia Vintage Hellebores) that I made a little basket to pop some chocolate coins in. The basket was really quick and easy to make (takes no more than 10 minutes thanks to a couple of sets of hearts dies).
The flowers, lace and seam binding are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The berries stared off life red, so I gave them a dunking in glossy accents then into this scrummy purple German Glass Glitter. What a transformation! Love it!! The dinky little purple pine cone was made from my newest acquisition – Tim Holtz Tattered Pink Cone die. The other flowers used are classic sweet rose, 15mm roses, cherry blossoms and hip rose buds. The flowers all got a splash of white paint to soften the colours a bit.
The image was coloured with Copics and pencils. I added Stardust Stickles to the fur trim on her clothes and also on her wings and the snowflakes.
I think this has to be my most favourite colour combos of them all – whoever would have thought I would love purple lol.
Hope you all have a brilliant week.
