Eyes down at Lili of the Valley

It’s Eyes Down at Lili of the Valley challenge this week, our theme is to play a bit of bingo!  I went with the easy option, the diagonal line of gems/flowers/ribbons and or lace.

bev rochester lotv daisy chain bingo 20 oct

I used gorgeous Nitwit Collections papers – Crab Apple Lane.  I love this kit, crammed full of delish rich colours.  I made a ribbon rosette to set off the cream 25mm wild rose and added some 15mm roses to pick up the red in the paper.  The seam binding and guipure lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the gorge flowers.

The image is Daisy Chain by Lili of the Valley and was coloured with Promarkers and Prismacolors for a commission in Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine.  The sentiment was computer generated (the commission was themed around children’s birthdays)

My craft room is almost complete, just the finishing touches now which take the longest like the last bits of skirting, finding place for stuff that I forgot I had and really don’t have the place or need for lol.  Now I need to sort out the rest of the house.  You do one room and the entire house ends up in total chaos.  We spent all day yesterday and almost till midnight last night clearing out the last of the stuff from the back bedroom that was my craft room and reorganising and finding place for all the stuff that came out of the garage that had been put in the lounge, the dining room, the spare bedroom, the landing, the shed …… (you get my drift lol) so now everything is neat and tidy again.  I hate living in a builders yard.  OMG and now him indoors wants to start decorating the bedrooms.  He is going to drive me NUTZ but the house will be gorge when it’s all done …… eventually lol.

I will post some pics of my new craft room as soon as the last bits are done.

hugs

Very pretty card Bev. I have some idea of what you are going through. We are in the process of taking out our solid fuel central heating boiler from the kitchen and replacing it with a woodburning system which also includes an oven ( a poor mans version of the Aga!!!!). My darling OH has just removed the old flue pipe without checking all the soot had been removed - my kichen is now covered in sooty dust!!!!!!! I have escaped to my computer before I do something drastic - like murder him! Flippin men!!! Oh well like you say about your craft room - it will be great when it is done! Good luck with it and hope you are in there soon and providing us with even more inspiration!

  36. Oh, I just loved re-doing my art room...and I am at it again. I am adding some shelves for all of the 12"x12" paper I have bought over the years. Now, I only buy 8 1/2"x11" for solids, and 6x6 in pads...

How do you store your 12"x12? I can't get one of those shelves from a craft store...too costly. I am getting several flat shelves for them. My smaller solid is in the filing cabinet, but the 12x12 won't fit in there.

I just love this card of yours! I really just gasped when I saw the exquisite English Red and cream flowers together...so beautiful. And, this image is delightful! I love how you colored it! How in the world do you color with both markers and colored pencils? Are they water color pencils? I hope you will find it in your heart to please answer my questions. I am new to your blog...but have loved visiting Jacque's for quite a while. I am just new to the technique you used. I would really appreciate the education.

  39. Adorable card Bev! I love LOTV stamps. I can't wait to see pictures of your craft room. I am in the midst of a SLOW transition to moving my goodies to a downstairs room and love to see other's organization and storage ideas. I feel that everything is everywhere and it makes it not so fun to stamp when you have to search each time. Thanks for sharing.
