Wild Orchid Challenge

I blinked and lost the weekend lol.  I had such great plans to get so much done and did it?  Did I heck as like.  Oh well, I should know by now NOT to make plans for my free time!!

This week’s Wild Orchid Challenge is Make it Sparkle with Stars.  Please do take a peek at the DT’s fab creations, and be prepared to be dazzled by all the sparkly bling!!  For my card today the stars are on those little cuties’ dresses.  The stamp – All in a row – is from Lili of the Valley’s newest release, aren’t they just too stinkin’ cute!!

The paper is last year’s Memory Box Mistletoe, still one of my faves!!  I think the sentiment is from a set of Jayne Nestorenko stamps from last Christmas.  The satin ribbon, new lace, trellis rose, 20mm roses, 15mm roses, 10mm roses, cherry blossoms and tulips have all been given the German Glass Glitter treatment and all the products can be found at Wild Orchid Crafts.

I am loving this olive green colour combo right now, and so easy to achieve with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Colours used are:
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair:  E31, E51, E50
Reds: R29, R24, R22, R20
Greens: YG97, YG95, YG93, E81
Golds: YR24, UR21, Y11

This week’s Quick Flick video will be on the Ideas to Inspire blog this afternoon if you want to pop across to take a peek.

Oh and before I forget (again!!) I was sent a 3M Pink Advanced Tape Glider to review.  Now I have an ATG gun that I didn’t really get along with as it was such a faff to change the tapes and I don’t do faff.  So, with not a little trepidation, I opened the box and read the instructions and managed to get the tape in and working in under 30 seconds.  Believe me that’s F1 speed for me, I don’t do technical and have no patience, so I was well impressed.

The tape is nice and narrow and is strong enough to hold ribbon and tape in place at the back of the card.  Up till now I have been using Scor Tape or red line tape but will be using the Tape Glider from now on.

Soooo, 5 stars thumbs up from me, I love it – especially as it’s PINK!!!

  3. Your card is awesome as always Bev, I too love this colorcombination, so it was just my type too. It´s really awesome.
Thanks soo much for the reviw of the glueglider. I have been wanting one for long, but been a little holding back as they´re so expensive, and was afraid the same, as you say here. especially as I have tryed some of the small onetime ones, we can get, and they never work very well and often the taperolls brake and thenn you can´t put it together again and it´s too much waste on them and they´re sooo expensive, so I´m also always usiing the rolls of red tape or the ones we cut ourself, but it would definately save a lot of time, if I could find one, that was really working well and not too expensive to get refills for either.

  10. Hi Bev
    love love love your card.
I TRIED to buy this stamp at the Ally Pally BUT and there is a BIG BUT as I was trying to get to the counter to purchase one, a foreign lady (either swedish or dutch), knocked into my arm/shoulder with her VERY large backpack, I was almost knocked to the ground with the force of it, and she didn't even apologise. It was hurting so much I had to leave the show, & go back to the car. The strange thing is I had been very aware of this person on the way round, because she had knocked into several people, BUT I just didn't see her coming, perhaps it would have been safer for me to have ordered off their website.

  33. Fab card Bev! The LOTV stand was easily accessible on Sunday at Ally Pally but I do sympathises with the commenter who was side swiped by a selfish backpacker. Despite saying trolleys were banned, some still managed to get theirs in, along with backpackers - and it did present hazards. I know you can't do anything about it so why am I whining on :(

Anyhows, I've got the pink ATG gun and just love it! If you get stuck remembering how to change the tapes there are tutorials on the web - also, worth remembering that sometimes the glue will 'ball' a bit - especially on thinner papers and can cause humps and bumps if not checked and picked off before sticking down! Di xx
