Whiff of Joy Challenge - a recipe and a LOTV Thomas card

It's ages since we had a recipe challenge on the Whiff of Joy Challenge and I really loved making this card.  The recipe is:
3 papers, 2 buttons, 1 ribbon.

woj-foxglove
I have once again used those delish Karen Neuberger papers that the lovely Kath sent me – Kath you have no idea how much I LURVES these papers lol.  I have coloured Mr & Mrs Foxglove from Whiff of Joy with Copics (why did I drag my heels in learning how to use these??  I love them now lol – I’m just soooo contrary).

woj-foxglove1
The flowers are from Crafty Feeling, and the two pearl buttons are from the Hobby House.  I’m entering this card in The Pink Elephant challenge which is pastels,

I also had a bit of me time last night and used one of my favourite stamps – I just love Thomas from Lili of the Valley – he has the sweetest little face and is a dream to colour.

lotv-thomas-cakea

I have used some DCWV papers from the Sweet glitter stack and the delish cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts.  They have some new colours of cherry blossoms in – very yummy and also are now doing packs of colour coordinated roses and the colours are so pretty.

Sarah Kay - Stampavie DT

Today I have another Stampavie DT card to share, this card is another of the 14 card marathon.  I am so behind with cards after being away at the NEC last weekend.  It was wonderful to meet up with so many blogging buddies (and I think Marlene takes the prize for spending the most rofl - hoo boy can that girl shop!!)
I’ve used Josephine in vegetable patch today, and teamed her with MME papers – just lurve this gingham paper.
sarah-kay-vegetable-patch-1
I’ve coloured the image with Inkadinks and Twinkling H2O’s.  The daisies are punched with Woodware punches.  I’ve added some stitching around the edges of the card and punched the centre strip with a Martha Stewart scallop punch.

Stampavie DT - One for the boys

Here’s another of the cards that  I have been busy with behind the scenes (remember the 14 cards in one weekend marathon a few weeks back?  Don't remind me lol)

sarah-kay-turtles-1

I have used the darling Sarah Kay image Henri playing with turtles and have coloured it with distress inks and Twinkling H2O’s.  The papers are MME.  Not much to say about this card – I really struggle with male cards.

This week the challenge at Create4Fun challenge is a colour combo for a change.  The colours are Brown, Cream and Pink.

lotv-me-and-my-pony

I have used Me and my Pony from Lili of the Valley on today’s card and have coloured it with distress inks and Twinkling H2O’s.  The paper is Basic Grey, porcelain I think.  I’ve used the Martha Stewart deep edger Garden Trellis punch to break up the pattern on the DP.

Just Magnolia - a sketch by Jane

Jane has done such a brilliant sketch for Just Magnolia this week – only one layer and room for lots of flowers – perfect lol.

magnolia-happy-tilda

I have used Happy Tilda and coloured her with distress inks, Inkadinks and Twinkling H2O’s.  I’ve overloaded on the Stickles but a girl’s gotta have a bit of bling now and then.  The papers are – yes- those gorgeous Karen Neuberger papers again.  What on earth am I going to do when these are finished.  I come over all faint at the thought rofl.

magnolia-happy-tilda-1

The Wild Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the little diddy ones.  I have glammed them up with Glimmer Mists.  The pearl flourish is by Prima and the beautiful sentiment is Stampavie (one of Rachelle Anne Miller’s sets of sentiments).  Isn’t the font just fab!

I am heading off shortly to the NEC to meet up with my buddies and do some serious retail therapy.  I am at the Hobby House stall tomorrow and Sunday so hope if you’re going to stop by to say hello (tho’ I will probably have that glazed look on my face again lol).

Sketch Saturday - Easter Tilda

I love the Magnolia Easter stamps - I can't pick a favourite lol.  It was the bunny Tildas till I coloured this cutie up.  It’s ages since I was last able to enter one of Sketch Saturday’s challenges but had to make this card, the sketch this week is sooo me lol.

magnolia-tilda-easter-baske
The papers are one of the fabulous Nitwit sets, oh my I do love their downloads, they print a dream.  I use Printable Light Card by Crafter's Companion to print my papers on to and the results are amazing.

magnolia-tilda-easter-1

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch as is the trellis border.  The flowers and the heart pins (coloured with R22 Copic) are from Wild Orchid crafts, the large rose is one of the Curly Wild Roses – isn’t it just gorgeous!  The dotty organza ribbon is from The Hobby House.

Whiff of Joy Challenge and a Stampavie card - two for the boys

It's my turn to provide the sketch on  the Whiff of Joy Challenge.  A couple more layers for a change instead of the very simple sketches I have been doing lately.
woj-oakley-kit1
I have used some Dream Street papers from The Hobby House – aren’t they just perfect for a boy’s card?  The button treatment – I die cut the Sizzix stars from felt, then fixed a button to the larger one and pushed a brad through the smaller one.
woj-oakley-kit1a
The image has been coloured with Inkadinks and Twinkling H2O’s.
And whilst I’m on male cards here’s another that I did on my weekend marathon a few weeks back.
skater-boy-1
It’s my turn today to post on the Stampavie DT blog so I was well prepared lol.  The stamp is Skaterboy Dude by Gillian Roberts for Stampavie.  The papers are MME and the sentiment has been die cut with a Quickutz alphabet set.
skater-boy-2
This stamp was so popular at Harrogate last weekend, and sold out almost straight away.  I think it’s perfect for those tough boys cards.

Flower Fairies of the Garden sneak peek

Here's one of the projects that I have been working on behind the scenes for a few weeks.  It's a sneak peek of the new Crafters Companion Flower Fairies of the Garden collection that is being launched tonight at 9pm on Ideal World.  The collection comprises of 3 fabulous CDs full of great backing papers, decoupage, toppers etc, and 6 stamps sheets.

ff-marigold1

I decided to attempt a wiper card from the great instructions on Splitcoast Stampers here and even used similar colours as they were perfect for this sweet Marigold Fairy.  The papers are from one of the matching CD’s.

ff-marigold

I used one of the accessory stamps for the “wiper” part of the card.  I loved making this style of card and will be making more – they are SO easy to do.  The flowers are from Crafty Feeling and that gorge big brad is from The Hobby House.

The release will be on sale from the Crafters Companion website from Thursday Morning 24th March.

Jacqui has some fab samples on her blog so pop across to see some more sneak peeks.

Stampavie Challenge - Easter

I didn't manage to get a card made for the last  Stampavie Challenge so was determined to got one done for this one.
stampavie-girl-lamb
I don’t usually make Easter cards so will probably end up replacing the sentiment with another but really wanted to use this sweet image called My Little Lamb by Penny Johnson for Stampavie and when I discovered this gorgeous Karen Neuberger paper that the lovely Kath sent me a while back I knew the two would work so well together.  I am not a lilac/purple girl but love the lilac/yellow combo – note to self: hunt for more pastel papers at the NEC Bev!.
stampavie-girl-lamb-1
I have coloured the image with copics (colours that I used are listed below) the sentiment is from that fabby Paula Pasqual set that I got off QVC last month and the cherry blossoms (that have been thoroughly blinged with glimmer mist) is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Oh and the gingham ribbon is from the Craft Fairy.

Totally Gorjuss

Soon as I saw this weeks Totally Gorjuss challenge – Ribbon - I knew I had to enter lol.  I did this card as a sample for The Hobby House along with 13 others last weekend and have not got round to blogging them so think this card will qualify for the challenge.

sarah-kay-watermelon-1

The image is from the new Stampavie Sarah Kay Spring/Summer 2010 release, she is called Josephine in Watermelon patch.  When I first saw the stamp I thought it was going to be a difficult one to colour – not so, it’s actually really easy to colour.  This one I did in inks and Twinkling H2O’s but have also done another card in Copics and that was equally as easy to colour.

sarah-kay-watermelon-2

The papers are MME Quite Contrary – love these papers!  The papers and spacers/pearls are from The Hobby House.  And the delish ribbon is Anna Griffin.  It’s the last piece I have of that colour – it fair broke my heart to use it rofl.

I’m scheduling this post for tomorrow morning as I am heading off for a long soak then going to hit the sack.  The Harrogate show was manic today – the busiest I have seen it in for a long time and I am wrecked.  Poor Jill was heading back home to restock for tomorrow, after being on her feet all day.  At one stage I looked over at her and she had this silly grin on her face – not sure if it was exhaustion or she was in a daze lol.  I’m leaving very early in the morning so I can get some shopping done before the doors open, didn’t get to buy a thing today and I am in shock lol.

Create4Fun Challenge

I'm not sure who provided this weeks sketch on  Create4Fun Challenge but I loved working with it.  I have used Anya from Rock the Farm stamp set, the papers are MME Out and about.  I’m not happy with the colouring, I tried new watercolour paper – me no likey :( plus I do think that these images are much better when coloured with Copics.

anya-rock-the-farm

I am heading off to Harrogate shortly for the Papercrafts show there this weekend (it’s my favourite show of all that I go to).  Looking so forward to meeting up with me mates xxx.  If you’re going this weekend I will be demoing for The Hobby House, so see you there.
