Fabric Flowers

Today I am sharing how I make my fabric flowers on the Whiff of Joy Inspirations and Tutorials Blog.  Hope you will pop across and take a peek at my tutorial and give them a try, they really are so quick and easy to make.

I made two different sized flowers for this card.  The image and sentiment is from the new Whiff of Joy Store Stamp kit that is only available from stores that have elected to stock the kits.  The list of stores is on the Whiff of Joy website here.  The paper is Karen Neuberger that the lovely Kath sent me xxx.  The ribbon was white, I just coloured it with a Copic pen (BG10).  The image has been coloured with Copics.

Create4Fun challenge

We have a fab sketch this week on the Create4Fun challenge blog, I love that you can use just one sheet of paper or go OTT and use 3 different papers.  I settled for 1 paper (double sided) by Stampin Up
crafty-sentiments-boy
My heart melted when I saw this image from Crafty Sentiments (so did my daughter’s) so I have made this card for our Ben to give to his mammy on Mothers Day (hence the blonde hair lol).  I have coloured the image with Copics and have added the usual Stickles to the flowers in his huge bouquet.
crafty-sentiments-boy1
The sentiment is from a Woodware set, the roses from Wild Orchid Crafts have been popped on some little punched heart petal flowers.
I am entering this card in this weeks PaperPlay Challenge which is the theme Mother, and Cute Card Thursday which is Ribbontastic and lastly Totally Gorjuss which is something for mum.

I am heading off later for Stevenage for the Stamperama show there tomorrow, I hope to see some of you there.  I am at the SECC Glasgow next Saturday and Sunday, then Harrogate 20/21 March, NEC 26/27/28 March and Ally Pally mid April.  Phew I’m going to be busy but looking forward to catching up with some of you.  I will be demoing for The Hobby House so pop across to say hello. xx

Lili of the Valley sneak peek

Today I have another Lili of the Valley sneak peek for you.

lotv-girl-with-cat
The colours are not very true on the card – I hate these dark days!!  The paper (Melissa Francis) is much more buttery IRL. This is my new fave colour combo – buttery yellow and pink (almost as yummy as green and pink).  Isn’t this little darling with her kitty just so cute!!  Check out that grin lol.  I’ve coloured the image with Copics (I’m loving my Copics now lol)

lotv-girl-with-cat-1

I have kept the layout real simple as the paper is quite busy.  The pink border is die cut from a Spellbinders Grand Lace border die.  The yummilicious roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts – I used the wild roses and also the 15mm open roses.  I have listed and linked the sizes as so many of you have asked for the sizes.  The little heart hat pin was a last minute addition. The gorgeous leaf punch is a Punch Bunch large stem punch.

Whiff of Joy Challenge, my sketch

It’s my turn to provide the sketch for the Whiff of Joy Challenge this week.  I used the opportunity to get another sample made for The Hobby House with the papers they will soon be stocking.

woj-willow-wedding-kit

Are these papers just gorgeous!  The are Craft Creations, so pretty.  I have coloured Willow with Copics (on SU Whisper White – this card seems to really give a lovely soft effect with Copics).  The pearls were stuck down after marking out some scrolls using on of the Bazzill jewel templates.  The flowers are from Crafty Feeling (the new kit) and the flower centres are from The Hobby House (I can’t see them on the website so will add the link here when I find them).  The tear drop pearl pins are here

Whiff of Joy – Birdie Love and Create4Fun Challenge

I'm late with my post again - I need another 7 days in each week lol.  I received my new DT package from Whiff of Joy on Saturday and in there was the Bi monthly kit – this one is Birdie Love.    I loved that the kit comes already foam mounted.  This is a bonus for me as I mount all my stamps before using them.  There is also another kit available – Blooming Spring - but this cannot be bought from Whiff of Joy, instead it can only be bought from stores that stock Whiff of Joy stamps.  You can check out the stores that are stocking that kit here

willow-egg-basket-1

I’ve coloured the image with Inkadinks.  The papers are October Afternoon.  The flowers are from a Crafty Feeling kit and the giant 12mm brads (lurve these!!) are from The Hobby House.  The lace ribbon is from Quixotic Paperie.

willow-egg-basket-2

My next cards is for this weeks Create4Fun challenge – sadly I am uber late with this one, I clean forgot to post it – oops!  I have used one of the Willow stamps from 2009 Whiff of Joy summer kit.  I have been making samples for The Hobby House with some of the new papers that Jill will be stocking and this is one of them.

kit-1a

Aren’t these papers delish!  Love the fresh summery colours and after the winter we have had I so needed these lol.  The flowers are punched with EK Success Retro Flower punches, the pearls, pearl brads and spacers are all from The Hobby House.

Last of my Stampavie CHA samples

Here's the last of the CHA samples I made for Stampavie - these stamps are by Penny Johnson.

First up is the oh so sweet Love Bubbles.  I love this image, those little heart bubbles are just so cute.

stampavie-cha-7a
The papers are Basic Grey.  I free-handed the hearts then stamped a heart pattern on them.

stampavie-cha-7b

For my second card I have used the I Love Honey stamp.  How cute is this little bear!  The paper is HOTP (I think) – I found it whilst rummaging in my paper stash, it was made for this stamp for sure.

stampavie-cha-5a

I applied Glossy Accents to the honey to add a bit of dimension, I hope you can see it in this image.  I also stamped and coloured the lid of the jar twice so I could 3D it.

stampavie-cha-5b

I’ll be back later with a card using one of the new Whiff of Joy Birdie Love stamps

lotv-thomas-cake
I have used the free MME papers that were in CMPC magazine last month and added some of the mini Asters from Wild Orchid Crafts that have had their usual bling treatment with Glimmer Mist.

Oh my,  the third sketch on the trot – just as well I love sketches lol.  JayJay has provided the sketch on Just Magnolia this week.

I have used Ladybug Hearts Tilda from Bunny Zoe’s Crafts, and have coloured her with Distress Inks and Twinkling H2O’s.  The papers are a freebie download.

magnolia-ladybug-hearts-til
The flowers are from Crafty Feeling, as are the dewdrops.  The sentiment is from Crafty Sentiments (I just love this set, the font is gorgeous).  I’ve added lots of Stickles to the card, it’s not showing up too grand on the photo’s unfortunately.

Lili of the Valley Challenge - A sketch by Domi

Domi has done a brilliant sketch for the Lili of the Valley Challenge, it gave me the perfect excuse to get the ribbon threader punch out and give it an airing again.  Don't forget it is not necessary to use a Lili of the Valley image on your card, just follow the theme.

This challenge we are looking for a GDT member to join us for 4 Challenges, the GDT will be chosen by the Design Team. We also have some candy for one lucky entrant chosen at random by Random.Org so you have two chances this weeksketchlotv
lotv-baby-girl-card
I have used the darling Baby Girl stamp from Lili of the Valley and have coloured her with copics.  I smudged her dress because the flipping gel pen didn’t work properly and brains of Britain here thought to remove it with a damp paintbrush.  Now Memento Ink and damp paintbrushes don’t go very well together (must remember that one Bev!!)
lotv-baby-girl-card1
I threaded the gingham ribbon through the punched green card and fixed it in place with a little bow.  Flowers from Crafty Feeling and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts finished the card off.  This one is for our Amy’s 2nd birthday – she is bunny crazy and loves pushing her bunnies around in her pram bless.
I’m entering this card in a few challenges:
My Time To Craft – Pink and Green
Alphabet Challenge – Pink
Stamp Something – Cute (and this little one sure is CUTE)

Whiff of Joy challenge - Pearls and Swirls

This week on Whiff of Joy Challenge we want to see pearls and swirls on your cards.  I combined the two by using one of the Bazzill Jewel templates (flowers and flourishes) – I marked the dots with a pencil then just popped some self adhesive pearls on the marks and had a quick, easy and cheap pearl swirl.  This is so going to save a fortune – I love the Prima swirls but balk at the prices sometimes.  This way I don’t feel guilty lol.

woj-willow-champagne

I have used Willow with Champagne from Whiff of Joy which I have coloured with distress inks.  The papers are Cloud 9 from The Hobby House.  I used one of the Martha Stewart around the page punch sets for a fancy border.  The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I blinged them with some Cafe au Lait Glimmer Mist.

Midnight Waiting

Today I have another of those beautiful fairies by Sweet Pea Stamps to share.  These images have become not only an addiction, but a passion as well.  I have already pre-ordered one of the new plates and can’t wait for it to arrive (this was before I had even coloured up all the stamps I have already bought lol).

sweetpea-midnight-waiting

I have used DCWV papers from the Old World stack. The swirl is another of my concoctions, again I just lightly sketched a swirl and this time used different sized pearls which were stuck over the sketching.  The corners are punched with a MS punch.  The leaf stem punch is by Punch Bunch and the gorgeous Wild Rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts

sweetpea-midnight-waiting-1

The image was coloured with Copics, I must try one of these images with Distress Inks and Inkadinks, although I do think they are perfect for Copics.
