Wild Orchid Challenges – One for the girls and Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge

Our challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge this time is One for the girls – another nice and easy challenge (just like I like them lol). So feel free to interpret it any way you like. Paul and Siri have put up another fab prize too, very yummy!

woc prize

And here’s my card. It was featured in the latest Stampavie Newsletter along with some amazing creations by the rest of the DT so if you didn’t receive it make sure you register for it, it’s free with oodles of inspiration in there.

Bevs-newsletter-card-1

I used Elodie in her garden for this easel card and coloured her up with distress inks. The papers are K & Co. The sentiment is also from Stampavie.

Bevs-newsletter-card-3

I went overboard with the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts again. The flowers I used are 15mm roses, 30mm wild roses, 35mm wild roses, 25mm hybrid tea roses. The swirls are a Bosskut Flourish die. The lace is also from Wild Orchid Crafts. Here’s a closer look at the flowers all glammed up with Glimmer Mist.

Bevs-newsletter-card-5

I stitched around the edges of the paper after distressing with Vintage Photo distress ink, then applied Stickles to the edges after curling up sections of the paper. The Stickles helps the curl to set.

Bevs-newsletter-card-2

I distressed the edges of the punched butterflies (Martha Stewart punches) with Vintage Photo distress ink to help them pop.

I am entering this card in the first Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge which is Things with Wings

I am dashing off to work now and leaving my hubby at home – I do hope he follows doctors orders and does nothing all day, he had another bad turn yesterday and frightened the life out of us both!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thanks for stopping by,

  4. I love your card! But aren't easel cards supposed to be closed flat? How on earth are you going to flatten it with all those embellies on the "bottom" part?

  19. Hi Bev
I am so sorry to hear that your hubby had another bad turn yesterday, how scary for you both. My little granddaughter suffers with (at times) very bad asthma attacks, and it's awfull to see her fighting for her breath, so I do have empathy for you and your hubby. I do hope he heeds the doctors advice and rests, you need to also look after yourself too Bev. Your card (as always) is beautiful, and I love this stamp, I think it has something to do with me having a granddaughter called Elodie lol.
huge healing hugs to hubby, and look after yourself.
    hugs
