Just Magnolia Special Monthly Challenge and Crafter’s Companion 2nd challenge

It’s a busy old day here today, two cards from me.  The first one is for the Just Magnolia special monthly challenge.  This month our challenge to make a Criss Cross card and we are so honoured to have Jeanette from Happy Thoughts and Ink Spots as our featured stamper.  She has a video (linked on the Just Magnolia blog) on how to make a Criss Cross card (which is just as well as I have never attempted one and the video made it so simple to do).  Thanks so much Jeanette.

Because it’s our special monthly challenge we have Simon Says Stamp to sponsor us with an amazing $30 voucher to spend in their store.

Now to my card – I have used images from last Christmas, and teamed it with the delish paper from Bearly Mine Crafts.

I used a Martha Stewart around the page punch for the lacy border.  The ribbon (which is skew in the pic – drat best go fix that before I forget!!) is from my stash and the gorgeous rhinestone ribbon slider is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  At under 50p each they are a bargain and fab quality too.

I did the insert by stamping onto watercolour paper and colouring with distress inks.  A little bow trim with a 10mm rose added to finish it off.

The flowers used are 5mm rosebuds, 10mm roses, 15mm roses and 30mm wild roses that I have glammed up with Glimmer Mist.

And now to my second card – this one is for the Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge  and we have a sketch to follow.  I have used the adorable Picking Cherries by Gillian Roberts for my card today and teamed it with October Afternoon papers.

I coloured the image with copics, that red is HARSH!!  Now I know why I love my distress inks lol. I stitched around the papers for a more country feel.  The sentiment is Catslife Press.  As soon as I saw Happy Daze had them in stock I had to order a few (okay so more than a few lol. )

As always the gorge flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts – 15mm roses, 35mm wild rose, cherry blossoms, 6mm rose buds.

Phew if  you’re still with me then you’ve the patience of Job lol.  Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I am hoping a bit of moving about instead of sat at my desk in the office will help to ease the back and legs pain.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, pop back later for my Simon Says Stamp Saturday Surprise candy.
